Well... after a few bullets on your body, a nice shining brighter than sun, a blast wave that can take your clothes and skin away and a helicopter crash... you just need to rest a little to recover and walk under a radioactive shower

because for one he was probably in shock from the nuclear blast and there might not be no handle to talk into the radio, and they most likely put the kids segment to show the creepiness and the effect of nuclear war

Actually if this was a real blast just looking at the explosion would have literally melted his eyeballs. Point is, it's a game, but nukes still suck. And there's no real life, no liberty, and no property so long as someone out there could do this to your home. That goes for governments as well as terrorists.

No one is going to create a black hole-weapon anytime soon. We don't even know the slightest things abut black holes, and we can only assume how they form. Rest assured, that technology won't be anywhere in our lifetime.

Bio-weapons and nerve gas are already around, keeping nukes won't make them g away, they've been around since before the Roman Empire. Somehow, nothing is quite as destructive as the smallest compound and organism, and nature itself...

Well, that would depend on your exposure. If you catch Small Pox, there is still a chance you might survive. If you are exposed to more than 6 Gy radiation, you can kiss your ass goodbye. Your body can better handle a virus than every single chromosome almost ripped apart and no cell being ale to properly divide again. Nerve gas is mostly designed to kill within minutes, so that's another story. Yes, i understand your point about the asteroids.

Small pocks isn't cured. Some 30-40 years ago, a world wide vaccination-campaign made sure the virus couldn't successfully infect new people. However, we are no longer vaccinated against small pox and even if we were, the vaccination would't work if the virus showed up again, because of the mutations that can happen during 40 years. Samples are being kept in Moscow and New York for research, however, it is not know if any other samples are out there...
