  • true jaystyles

  • You gotta respect LL for being real about the current state of things. Back in his day they made music for the pure pleasure of it. Now its only for profit and you call see the difference.

  • Empire state of mind, or Run This Town is not garbage, and teh true Rapper Artist of the song bops his head..........Jay-Z has become the top over some old school Rapper's to, and not LL, but they have to accept change in a style of Hip Hop & the beat with it.

  • LL THE G.O.A.T.

Cole's number one album or even Rihanna's album, you know those two right??? Yeah the artists that JAY Z introduced to the world..yeah ok. If you are going to come at someone say their name don't take subliminal shots just because Jay hurt your feelings when he performed at the garden! Like whats yo beef this is like the 3rd interview you did shading Jay.

LL shouldnt follow that trend!

  • I like L and I like Jay Z. They're both rich.

  • he didnt diss Jay Z. this person need to change the title cause not once was Jay z mentioned in this

  • @myb7ls Yea, your right.. he doesn't say one thing about Jay-Z directly or subliminally. Not even sure he's just talking about Timbaland either, could be Dr. Dre too.. who really knows? Scott Storch at the time? Million bucks for a damn beat, doesn't even sound right in this music climate where records aren't getting sold. But i guess, the touring, the ringtones etc...

  • he licks his lips because wet lips helps you talk better and wet lips helps you bomb on the paper champions alot easier, LL is bringing the heat and its about to get real funny.

  • So L.L. how well did that album do again?

  • HAHHAHAA tell'em Jay.

  • Licking Lips Cool J.

  • There is NO AGE IN HIP HOP!!! Please Youngsters...You will by god's grace become our age someday. Don't let no one take hio- hop from you. The powers that be Already Took the Turntables,Graffiti and Dancing from us. The only thing we got is our Words and Our Balls and We can't Break em for no amount of Money. They want to Kill hip hop because we grew strong from it.

Rza said years ago "They trying to turn hip hop to Technotronics...Don't Go against the grain" He never lied.

  • @SDSOverfiend You're preaching 2 choir. More often than not w/ age comes wisdom & sterilizing hip hop of all it's elders seems 2 cohere w/ ur argument that they want 2 destroy it. It is so intergral 2 our community, so it only makes sense that they'd want 2 rid the world of it. It's another tactic they employ 2 destabilize our community; just like the crack epidemic. Hell, they never wanted us to be smart starting w/ slavery.

  • @SDSOverfiend During the Triangular Trade, slave traders deliberately placed Africans w/ other Africans who didn't speak the same language making conversation hard. Thus, our ppl took a huge, initial hit 2 our collective intellect. Not to mention, our cultural heritage was pretty much obliterated. Now, we see the 'keep them dumb' agenda has never ended. Specifically, kids have internalized the notion that being smart isn't cool & once again we see the unraveling of our culture. Deja vu.

  • @tonyGjr2 Damn... It feels like im fighting a war i know i won't win. I guess in this day and age the kids succumbed. Did we fail them? I mean if they never wanted to listen in the first place can it really be our fault?

  • @SDSOverfiend I asked myself those same questions every time talk to my younger brother. He doesn't listen; not to my father, my mother, my siblings or me. In saying that, it's no wonder he doesn't find it necessary to listen to lyrics in a song. For real, it's like talking to a brick wall. I take that back b/c a brick wall has more sense. All he wants is punchlines about bling, hoes, cars, and violence. If gets he that, it doesn't matter what the songs about. Where's the substance? SMFH!

  • @tonyGjr2 Yeah that so true. I recently but doing research on the so called Bling people are fascinated with.

Along with many of life ills that they influenced on the kids and its all wrong. I guess its safe to say we lost this generation.. Gotta go to work on 9 and younger gen now. Atleast while their minds are like sponges. The 13 - 25 are the real lost generation. They always say we lose a generation so i guess its history then. One things for sure.. When the Revolution jumps off im ready.

  • ll cool j will finish jay z

  • lol...timbo diss no....sounds more like......will i am or swizz beats??! hehe

  • lol dude licks his lips more than The Joker I swear.

  • LMAO, hes said "producers fontin, knodding their head trying to get you to buy their beats, knowing its trash". Trying to over charge you for their garbage... SMH....WOW.....Now that is hilarious...

  • @Thunderbult3000 thats the truth tho, haha they really do that shit, lol

  • @hollisprophet: yeah they do, knocking their head all hard trying to sell trash like its off the chain... lol, see, those are the corny ass hustlers. How about just working hard on ur craft so that itr sells it self? People break their neck to get a tight track. And just like in any other field, most dont mind paying for good/quality work...

  • @Thunderbult3000 lmaooo that made me laugh so hard when he said that

  • lol.. so what happend? LL watched jay-z's fade to black dvd and got offended?

  • where is the part where he diss jay-z.

  • He was talkin' about Kanye. Remember the Fade to Black Doc that Jay Z made? Kanye was doin' that in the studio to a beat that Jay wasn't feelin' ( and neither was I) before Jay got him to play some of his "stingy" beats.

  • No disrespect but why post things with a hype title and never happens? Come on!!!

  • LL need to stay off that kool aid boy LOL

  • Yo, I love the god, but is he coked up in this interview?...

  • why the hell he keeps licking his lips, please dont tell me thats cool

  • LL COOL J.....SIT YO 50 YEAR OLD ASS DOWN BEFORE MY YOUNG NIGGAS MAKE CHANGE OUT OF YOUR OLD ASS. YOU SOUND LIKE A WEAK JEALOUS PUSSY HOLE. 50 YEARS OLD STILL TRYING TO RAP? AND ROCKING FITTEDS DOESNT MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A GROWN MAN. PULL YOUR PANTS UP MY NIGGA AND REALIZE YOUR CAREER IS OVER LL COOL J. YOU'S A LEGEND............BUT LOOK AT YOU NOW.....YOU OLD AS F**K! OL WASHED UP JEALOUS ANGRY WEAK NIGGGA

  • @MrDetox2010 age 18

  • @MrDetox2010 are you serious? You see LL Cool J as a old man who couldn't still lay tracks? You are not only retarded but you know nothing about Old Skool Buddy.

Dre is 45. Jay-z 40. Snoop is 38. Luda is 32. They are all old and still running sh*t.

Funny how that is huh, go google that (run tell dat).

  • @Furch And KRS is 40 plus...and Chuck D and Flav are in the 50 set -- and can still throw down.

  • @Streamline09: True that. Infact, they are still monsters, they crush mic's on the reg! That goes for Doug Fresh, Big Daddy Kane & Rakim too. I saw them all last year @ different times. They are all "MIC MURDERS!"

Ive seen them time to time over the years & I know for sure (at least 20yrs, people retire in that time from company jobs), that, NONE of them has skipped a beat or lost a step. They are all true beasts in the Hip Hop game...

  • @Thunderbult3000 Amen to that!

  • @MrDetox2010 so u saying hiphop artist CAN'T be a certain age and still make music? but in rock music, country, soul, blues, jazz, metal, funk...etc...the artist in those genres can continue to make music no matter what their age is and still have the respect, admiration, and support from their culture's fans? but yet hiphop CAN'T? our music is street music, and we should be honored that our artist are even at a certain age still doing this shit fam. hiphop isn't even over 40 years old yet fam

  • @hollisprophet: BIG-UPS TO U ON THIS! Our people aren't recognizing. They say the old is hating on the new, when the truth is, the new have never appreciated or respected most of the older ones. These are the people that made i possible for them to do what they do, making cash at all levels, shows, fame, etc... The funny thing is its actually easier to grab the "offered torch" or the given torch & take it to a higher level, u get their help & connections w/it. But these kids take the hard route.

  • @Thunderbult3000 Exactly mann, u hit the nail on the coffin. older generation paving the way, but the younger biting the hand that feeds em...shit is ridiculous.

  • @hollisprophet: They dont understand the game. They believe they are smarter then they really are. They just dont understand there are more opportunities & ways to get it now is all. But w/that comes a whole lot of traps because the big companies know this also and their gonna always have their pimp game down... Ask Puffy & Baby-face, and their black doing it to others blacks.. SMDH...

  • @hollisprophet: Like uve said (& this is well understood by the true HipHop fan) rock stars are running around daam there singing from a wheel chair (70+), but rap/r &b careers are suppose to be over in 3-5yrs because thats the way corporate businesses want it? Thats crazy! Like u said also, rap is only a little over 40 yrs old, how dare anyone say catts are washed up when they are still doing it strong & consistently, the way they have always done? Thats retarded!

  • @Thunderbult3000 Yeah man that whole shit just came from the corporations trying to tell us we can't do this after a certain age, and now they implanted that shit in the minds of the younger generation. It's really ingenious though because that is the exact way you destroy a culture or a movement- by turning those on the same side against one another; thus, the reason hiphop music is fucked up the way it is now practically beyond repair.

  • @hollisprophet: Yeah, ur right its recked, its messed up real, real bad. But , I see a change coming, its just coming really slow. The game is changing again, people are starting to realize they dont need the typical slave owners/puppeteers/major labels to be rich and successful. If the kids today would do their homework then they would find this out faster (from the horses mouth) instead of trial and error.

  • @hollisprophet Also with reference to you comment about 'age' in hip hop, I wholeheartedly agree. Why is it necessary to hang it up after an artist hit 30 or so. Musical careers should last longer but ppl want hip hop artist to be a flash in the pan. Why?

  • @tonyGjr2 Yeah mannn, its just another way for corporate america to destroy our hiphop culture, cause no way in hell did that philosophy of 'hanging it up' after a certain age come from us. That's all the heads at the corporate heads at these major labels trying to pull those b.s. strings. I just hope the younger generation wakes up and doesn't fall under this trick, because if we don't have older artist in our genre, to me that doesn't really make us a genre at all in music- just a trend

  • @tonyGjr2 and really think its the same tactic they try to use with breaking apart the black community with the crack epidemic, single mother's raising households, no father's present....and I really think I see them trying to put forth that same cycle in hiphop culture, because they know how powerful our music is. So its like, take the father's and mother's out of light (the older artist), that way the culture loses its traditions and values. And u see the effects of that now with...

  • @tonyGjr2 ...with rappers like soulja boy disrespecting legends in the game...its ridiculous. You don't disrespect someone like Nas or Ice-T...that kid is brainwashed by the system...not to say they're the best all around artist in the music, but you can't contest the history they put in the music already.

  • @hollisprophet Man, I never thought about that way. Taking away the figurative father and mother figures of hip hop thus leaving hip hop children w/o any constructive guidance. Agreed, it does feel like they're doing that shit. I goes along with tactic of the industry saying smart rap is cool. Playa please, how does dumb=cool. I got ppl in my own fam who look at me with scorn cuz I wanted to educate myself. SMH. Who did this endoctrination start. One could argue it start w/ slavery.

  • @tonyGjr2 Wow mann....I feel you on that one....got ppl in my fam like that too-paticularly some cousins who stay doing dumb shht. Yeah I definitely agree with you on the slavery part and that being where it came from...straight Willie Lynch letter in full effect!

  • @hollisprophet Man, I had some many typos in my last post. I meant to say the industry promote the idea that smart isn't cool, and that's fucked up.

  • @tonyGjr2 Haha...its all good, im the typo king myself...i knew what you meant though. I'm just hoping that younger generations wakes up and realized how they are being manipulated by the elite....im seeing progress though...slow, but they are getting better!

  • @hollisprophet Yeah, I'm able to articulate my thoughts better when I take my time but some times I get ahead of myself. That said, I read a post on a Youtube video, "Canibus How We Roll," which had someone who was attacking another b/c he was writing properly while using words like esoteric. Beyond that, there's a guy posting on Canibus videos calling it nerd rap. SMH. Why is it uncool to be smart? Answer, b/c the powers that be r able to make a killing on dumb ppl. Wake up my ppl, please!

  • @hollisprophet Another correction the vid was "Get Retarded" by Canibus.

  • lol @ LL boping his head imitating wack producers that's trying to persuade LL to purchase the track.

  • HE NEEDS TO STOP LICKING WITH his lips......that shit aint attractive.....IT AINT WORKING NO MOR

he's tryna come out wit another song called hush part 2 lmaoo

  • how u figure he diss jay z n tim

  • Where is the Jay-Z diss? I get so sick of these false and misleading youtube video headers!

  • @Blackbeans840 Yeah, some people just love drama. If there's no drama they can't function. That's why they make their life's ambition to create drama.

  • @Blackbeans840 exactly and how about the timberland diss?? when he did a whole album with tim before smh

  • @Blackbeans840 Well he is really talking about Timbaland but what he is talking about was on the "Fade to Black" Concert/documentary that Jay-Z did...you don't remember Tim. drinking that juice and bouncing when he had Jay listen to the track? lol

  • @Blackbeans840 yep. dats why I disliked da video.

  • @Blackbeans840 Agreed, FUCK BLOK TV!

  • @Blackbeans840 Agreed 100%

  • yo. ll truly is an icon. he is one of the originators of the game, and deserves to be in the same light as krs one, run dmc, slick rick, big daddy kane, and all the other legends. and, just because he rhymes for the ladies to sell records, which isn't sellout since he came with the name ll, he can still kill your ass lyrically. i love canibus, but "99 percent of your fans don't exist" by ll ended his career.

  • YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DA GOAT IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! STILL SEXY, STILL LICKING THEM LIPS, AND STILL STANDING ON HIS OWN TWO! WHAT! LADIES LOVE COOL JAMES!! WOOOOOOOW LOL

  • LL'S ASS AINT FUCKIN WIT NIGGAS FAR AS THE BATTLIN GOES IN THIS DAY AND AGE I STILL THINK CANIBUS RIP HIM UP

  • Lmao

  • Who the fuck is bull? He be too hype for LL

  • @shaq228 haha you must be from philly !!

  • @NovaDior lol yeah, how you know?

  • ok its 2010, i still havent heard LL's new shit..

  • @ItsMrAoK lmfao wrd this frontin ass nigga

  • I don't think he's dissing Timb, cause Timb gave him headsprung and that was a hit

  • @shaundaun i thought he was talking bout pharrel

  • @DJSIMPLYP Yeah, I think so too...as that is exactly what Pharrell was doin' in a scene from Jay-Z's 'Fade To Black' documentary.

  • @shaundaun ME EITHER...MAYBE SCOTT STORCH OR DRAMA SOMEBODY...BUT NOT TIM...4SHO!

  • LL Cool J is a great emcee with many hits and much longevity but lyrically he could not hold a pen to Canibus, Eminem, Chino XL, Cool G Rap or Rakim. Times have changed...

  • @thedeadlymc but them niggas dont have longevity, and longetivity is what matters you can be the best mc in the world, but if you dont kno how to market and brand ya self as a artist, then your not goin to last,no only is LL a good mc,but he's a smart bidness man he's knows how to market him self, and thats why he's where he's at,and the mc's you mention are where there at,point blank

  • why does LL always wear some kind of head wear? Is he insecure about being bald??

  • @SonOfGod3000 I think its because he has a weird "cone shaped" head. I dont think its a big deal but i think thats why

  • lol @ "AND THE RECORD IS GARBAGE...."

  • What song does jay z diss L?

  • What diss?

  • He licks his lips so much....

    lol

  • Comment removed

  • How is this a Jay-Z diss? Jay & LL are two of the greatest imo FULL STOP.

  • LL doesnt get a hyped up expensive producer cause he doesnt have any money. This dude is broke. Hes just stirring up a lot of beef with everyone for some reason, whats up with this guy? Grandpa LL suxs balls.

  • @dekoy08 actors get paid more than rappers and LL dropped albums when ppl bought them. He's fuckin loaded. he's sold over 25 million records throughout his career, multiply that by like a couple bucks a cd than add over 20 movies, some of which made a ton of money, s.w.a.t., Any Given Sunday, Halloween...and he aint been wastin money on timbo beats so i think he's got money. have some respect

  • I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED LL. MY FIRST RAP CONCERT CONSIST OF LL,RUNDMC.BEASTIE BOY. IT WAS THE BEST. HE DOES HAVE THE BEST VOCAL FOR THE RAP GAME.LOVE YOU LL.

  • When I listen 2 Jay z musik I be like this is the most overrated rapper of all time he is 1 of da best in new york but when you are the best in new york u are considered da best in tha game Nas, Method Man, Raekwon, LL, DMX, Camron, Juelz are way better 2 me and dem jus da 1s from NY who is better and Im from da south Eminem ,Dr. Dre ,Snoop dogg, Kanye, Lil Wayne, Styles P, Ghostface, Scarface, Bun B, Mos Def , Black thought from da roots, all of dem are better then Gay Z its my opinion hoes

  • LL. THE BEST

  • can people shut the fuck up about this canibus and ll cool j beef? IT'S BEEN OVER FOR MORE THAN A DECADE. No wonder that hip hop is dying, stupid fools like the ones here have nothing to do but bitch about a beef that happened, and finished even before the jay z/nas beef. Listen, if you aint got anything else to say then shut the fuck up! Lets move forward, time to flush out the garbage from hip hop

  • Canibus ripped LL! L knows that shit. LL dope but Canibus came with two legendary diss tracks. "Mama said know who out? I punch that bitch in the mouth, cause she dont know what she talking about"

  • ll cool j is the G.O.A.T

jay z is worse than 50cent

  • canibus trashed LL easy

  • @xspade777 ..canibus is the man... "100 Bars" is just a glimpse of the truth....lol

  • LL spoke the truth alot of overhyped and overblown producer because of there name charge all that money and they are not that good and the record is garbage he spoke the truth on that

  • RILEYBOY BEATS

  • LL Cool J's ego is pathetic, he should of retired from rap right after "pink cookies in a plastic bag". the only reason he's still around cause he was russel simmons bitch for years. i could name 3 rappers from his era that were 10x better than him... Big Daddy Kane, KRS, Kool G Rap. LL's success is based on a marketable image not talent, this fuckin homo aint talented at all fuck that shit

  • @MikeyMath

well compared to most of the homos like wayne, drake, yayo, banks, rick ross, florida etc - he's a zillion times better

  • @theraconteur83 Nada Cmon you for real. Rock the Bells, Dangerous, You'll Rock, I need a Beat. Not to mention 4,3,2,1 or I shot ya. @ mcmaniac If you ever were a true hip hop head then you can't front on any of those songs. ILL Bomb. All that is Hip Hop. @mystromusic, I agree with you. Going live against Moe Dee, now I would have liked to see or hear that. Shan even got sporty in Beat Biter. L never responded. But he battled Moe Dee on wax and Moe Dee was very lyrical.

  • man LL know what he's talking bout i mean i know some dudes who just mess around and make beats and it sounds like a professional did it but these guys will probably never get discovered if everyone runs to producers whose beats sell not because of what it sounds like but who the producer is

  • ok....wake up....real hip hop cats know ll has been rinsed as an artist SINCE mama said knock you out. Any real hip hop cat would never listen to phenomenon, pink cookies in a plastic bag, loungin, or that girly beat song he had like 4 years ago. talk about livin on a rep. he was the first mainstream rapper, and hasnt been the best since Rakim came out, so what? he another krs that the bitches love! Talk about amnesia, canibus beat LL with facts, and facts mean something in rap battles.

  • @mcmaniac1000 great post, im feelin you on that!

  • "...Imma have a lotta young talent on this record...."

"....I'm working with a lot of young, hungry producers...."

    TRANSLATION:

I don't have no budget to work with to hire the Neptunes or Timbaland again and my pop love song shit is played way out. So, the young talent on the record will give you something else to listen to cause I know you ain't intrested in me! LOL.

  • @MystroMusicMan You really think LL broke? I'm not a LL dick rider or nothin, but he got tons of hits that still get play, acting gigs, it's not like he's hurting for money. No budget?

  • @dds2190 That's right, no budget. Don't be fooled..

LL 's hits get little play, his acting gigs since 2000 have been few and far between. His clothing line with Sears is not a big hit. BUT, of course, he has millions but seeing that he hadn't been hot in years, he knows that hiring Timbaland or The Neptunes is a high-risk gamble and will end up being a un-recoupable loss. Look at the result, he had to finance "Exit 13" himself and it's not even GOLD.

  • @MystroMusicMan c'mon man Kool Moe Dee served him wit ''Let's Go'' and ''Death Blow''?First off i think LL Cool J is good, not great, just good, i kinda think he's overrated, ''Let's Go'' was a great diss and it almost killed LL's carrer, but LL's answer ''To Da Break A Dawn'' was better, as for ''Death Blow'', it simply missed, it kinda sucked.

  • @jerudoriginal91 1st, LL's career wasn't almost ended by "Let's Go". No one's career is ever ended by a diss, it's just something rappers say about their opponents and the public stupidily ran with it.

Anyway, if you can say "To Da Break Of Dawn" is better than "Let's Go" or that "Death Blow" sucked, you don't know anything about lyrics. Yes, LL got served lyrically. He survived because of his movies, so more people knew him & bought his music though he went more Pop. He lost the battle tho.

  • @MystroMusicMan actually u probably never heard of MC Shan or MC Antoinette, carrers can be ended by disses, tho very rarely it could happen. Have u ever heard ''Death Blow? It sounds exactly like ''Let's Go'', he actually pushed the part of sayin' the L's all over again, by using words starting by L that don't even make sense, lyrically ''Let's Go'' is better, but in over all ''To Da Beak''... is better, in my opinion it hit harder, btw i'm not a big LL fan, he's good but not in my top 30

  • @jerudoriginal91 Again, not ended by disses. Public just fell out of favor of Shan and Antoinette. Just like with Moe Dee he didn't POPularize his image and style and become a actor and such so, the puplic in a large part lost intrest. NOW, if you have PROOF of ur claim, then show. As for "Death Blow", yeah, it's over your head. "You can't hang without a high-school diploma". LL's mostly-average lyrics are more your speed.

  • @MystroMusicMan pffffffff over my head???really??? ur the one that doesn't understand shit son,'' Death Blow'' was a huge miss, just ''Let's Go'', with a different beat, i kow i exagerated by sayin that ''To Da Break...'' was better, lyrically Moe Dee is wayyyyyyy better than LL, if Moe Dee kept it just on ''Let's Go'' i believe that LL was over, but he had to diss LL again, sometimes u gotta let go

  • @jerudoriginal91 You just said it, "exagerated" so that sums up your posts.

  • @MystroMusicMan as for that ''LL's mostly-average lyrics are more your speed'', well i say that Moe Dee is good, legend? yes but among legends he is the one i like less, so more my speed is Rakim, KRS-One Big Daddy Kane, Kool G. Rap, AZ, Nas 2Pac, Melle Mel etc. Moe Dee compared to rakim is just a good rapper

  • @jerudoriginal91 2nd post for my 1 topic. oh well, already answered.

  • @jerudoriginal91 2nd post.. all i needed was one! lol. anyway, already answered.
