Love the playing Tomo!!! Do you know of any instructional videos or books that can help with right hand technique? I would like to jam out like this and the way John Mayer uses the right hand technique without the pick. Thanks 5 stars
hi Tomo, you responded to 1 of my comments about your playing style, and i thought it was cool of you 2 take time 2 do that. I was wondering is it possible 2 send you some of my music? Your style is close 2 my own, and I would sure value your opinion.. Thanks,
Nope, he actually IS badass. That slap guitar is one thing I really have to learn how to get down. Scott Mishoe got me interested, but this video got me really psyched. Excellent playing, Tomo!
check out a slap bass video. you'll see much more vividly what he's doing. it's quite amazing on guitar because, unlike with bass, you have much less range to grip and 'pop' the strings.

I've experimented with slapping guitar, but the sound doesn't come out right for me (I'm a noob). Thanks for showing me that it can be done!!!
hey man how do you take mastering that technique...its totally the same stuff like in a bass???? .....and that guy at right is like "Oh this guy is a f***in monster"
Hey Tomo it was great to see you in the Berklee Today article about Mayer's visit. During John's visit a few years back he mentioned that his song "Neon" evolved when he went back to his room and tried to learn your amazing funk technique. I really enjoy your music and can't wait for your new CD.
Tomo the truth is I WISH I knew how to do that!!! I actually wondered a long time ago if anyone had been innovative enough to try to learn slap on a guitar, and you not only beat me to the punch by a longshot, but you pulled it off so amazingly. I humbly bow to you sir. For real, a sincere and unneeded (from me at least) bravo.
Hey HuckleberrySlim. I didn't continue to argue with you on some other post regarding Tomo, but I see that you have come to find some value in him. The truth is he is a true musician and person. Yes, and I am sorry if I offended you or tomo. I have strong likes and dislikes, and I always come around eventually (I used to hate the blues now I love it more than anything). Its definitely a growing process. Anyways he is truly innovative, and now that the shock of it has worn off, the true beauty is emerging for me as it has for you for a while now lol. Thank you tomo for being so creative, that is a very important thing in the world. You are truly ahead of your time. Im hoping for more.

you can only really slap on lower strings for guitar.
