i'm quite sure most of the NZSAS were trained by current / ex-British SAS servicemen in the firts place.

also, how are the NZSAS renowned for being the best Special Forces in the world, I've never heard of them or anything they have done.. clearly they are not that good

yes that is true but they train much harder now and you never hear of the best do you. only the SF teams that are not the best or the ones that screw up. the british have stuffed up in missions as have the US special forces. but the NZSAS havent stuffed up a mission or had a member die yet. it it renowned for being the best and very highly regarded and a privilge for other teams to serve alongside them

fair enough i've just looked it up and it seems like it has a good reputation.. but i can't recall a British SAS mission that has been 'stuffed up' and the Iranian Embassy hostage situation was hardly a failure. When you say the NZSAS haven't had a member die yet, clearly they have as they've been in service since 1955 and just because you haven't heard of them stuffing up missions, it doesn't mean they haven't. I suppose it all depends on the politics and stuff and what is hidden from us.

yea i no that. it just didnt go as planned. they havent had a member die yet. they have had members wounded in firefights but no one has died and the NZ govt has told the people that.

still when it comes to training, i'm an american, and my brother is SF, SAS is fucking intense and take pride in what they do, SF, is of course, still up there, but Spetsnaz's hand to hand is dominate over others.

yea i no exactly hat they have to do training. theres this series they made about the 3 years of training for the NZSAS. if you can get it, get it, its awesome. yea Spetsnaz is excellent in hand to hand.

depends. in terms of actual self defense SF's incorperation of american boxing with hand to hand countering makes it pretty rough. Green Beret for example though uses not only they're skill but everything around them. They'll kill you with a napkin if they have to lol. But if you're on the offense hand to hand wise, spetsnaz is going to kill you, i mean cmon they use a small shovel for H2H combat and they can accurately throw it 10 yards after a front flip and still pierce skin and shatter bone.

yea thats true. but i guess it comes down to each SF unit/regiment has their own speciality. like delta are experts in CT warfare, SAS in unconventional and CT operations, spetsnaz are better at assassinations and kidnappings, Green Berets for unconventional warrare, recon, CT and direct action.

I thought this game was fun as hell. Not only can you control 3 other people, but they also have pretty good AI's and do what you command. Not like Close Combat: first to fight, which is a terrible game. This game is very fun.
