  • That would be a blast! This is on my bucket list.

  • I took a Petty ride along here this same year. Damn what a ride!

  • Enter our Talladega sweepstakes for a chance to win: facebook / jobsatschneider

  • does the car have a restrictor plate inside

  • @retroguy1976 I actually don't know, but I think so b/c we only got up to 180.

  • Having a little trouble holding the camera up...? :)

  • ovals.... the most boring things in the world. Sound is great though.

  • @MultiRedbull83 Dude thats Dega' not Daytona

  • @MultiRedbull83 then i guess they moved the flagger stand and used concrete on the old daytona surface. guess i'm retarded

  • If everyone's car sounded like this, manufacturers would stop having to install radio's in cars. Needless to say, my radio hardly ever comes on in my 72 Monte- I'd rather listen to that engine rumble.

  • Im just a ole English boy but I think Im right in sayin talladega is the fastest oval in the US,yes??? And is it possible to drive it as an "experience"....cos if it is, Im signing up for it!!! Along with Laguna Seca .......Daytona.......u boys have some of the best circuits in the world"!

  • Im just a ole English boy but I think Im right in sayin talladega is the fastest oval in the US,yes??? And is it possible to drive it as an "experience"....cos if it is, Im signing up for it!!!

  • @MultiRedbull83 dude, you could clearly see the hotel over turn 3 if this was Daytona. but its not. its Talladega.

  • Did this at Las Vegas Speedway for Richard Petty experience. Adrenaline rush close to that of sydiving. Really fun!

  • Awesome video.......went around Dega in a Camaro at 135...it was great...and that is TALLADEGA....

  • @MultiRedbull83 if you cant tell the difference between Talladega and DAYTONA than you know nothing about NASCAR

  • @MultiRedbull83 youre a retard

  • @406590 And you're not?

  • I f**kin love that engine sound :D

  • was that the richeard petty driving

  • No, it was the Dale Jarrett school

  • Are you kidding me; I took this video, fool, and if you watched it closely, you would notice that the wall is painted "Talladega". Your comment definitely belongs in the "duh" category. If you're confused b/c the surface is old and bumpy, that's b/c I took the video back in '05 before the track was resurfaced.

  • with restrictor plate?

  • I actually don't know whether the car had a restrictor plate or not?!

  • @1324tube

    lol

thinking about it it probz was restrictor

cuz no restrictor you would be around 190 or 200 lol

  • @SPAZZY1912 no with no restrictor u woukd be hiting 220-240, these have a huge Restrictor because they dont want you going faster then 160, now if they used the same restrictor NASCAR uses at this track he would be going 185-190 with no draft.

  • @Warthog32695

    :O, 220 MPH???!! thats crazy

  • @SPAZZY1912 thats how much power these beasts have.

  • I bet down the straights the cameraman is screaming SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

  • dude that was so cool! and so loud how loud was it in there damn!

  • @1324tube AWESOME!

  • @1324tube is this with the COT or regular COY?

  • It's the old car on the old surface!

  • あ

  • How many gears?

  • 4 speed. The funny thing is that at the beginning of the video, you can see the driver miss second gear!

  • wow this really shows how bumpy that old surface was. the high tech onboard cameras hide all that pretty well. this was awesome!

  • AINT NO FING WAYYYYY

  • thats awesome

  • Old surface was better because so much rubber was on it!

  • this is nothing... 170 is cheap seats...try 190

  • @mwdesigns09 Get F*#ked goof...you're a f*&king expert eh?

  • dude, im just saying te cup guys are going 190. I want to do it tho, i think you took what i said the wrong way.

  • It looks like the DJ driving school takes you much faster than Richard Petty DE does. I see that you get up to the 170's with DJ, but only in the low 150's with RPDE at Daytona.

  • damn..beautiful sound

  • i went to mars before it was great..had a party up there with some friends

  • lol

  • This is a trip to moon from earth

  • Hey have you gotten to get to do it on the new surface?

  • No, not yet! I'm saving up to be able to drive one of these someday.

  • how much does it cost to-do this sport? very great video, love the sound.

  • I want my car to sound like that! :)

  • Sweet, thanks for posting this. 100% percent adrenaline.

  • hell yea i agree with 1324tube

  • shit! What a sound....just beautiful!

  • Several years ago I was given a wonderful gift of 10 laps at Lowes Motor Speedway at the Dale Jarrett Driving Experience. We were allowed to pass, go as fast as comfortable. It was exciting to say the least. The sound of racing steel, rumbling exhaust, the wind whipping past as you hug the wall going into the tunnel turn; there is nothing like it. I recommend this experience for anyone who wants to legally run 160 mph.

  • Wow man thanks for sharing this i would love to go in one of those someday!! What a rush goin 200+ in a car LEGALLY!!

  • What fricken Rush!!

  • 1324tube, you know what's going on. This is one of the best on-board videos I've ever seen. To hell with all these other idiots...only real men could understand what's going on here. If it ain't got 3 pedals and a V8, they can shove it up their asses.

  • great sound, its better than music

  • ya for 3 seconds try 500 miles at 9000rpm

  • Yeah and when you have over forty cars on the track at the same time, the ground actually shakes beneath your feet as they zip by. I LOVE IT!!!!

  • that engine sounds gooooood

  • wow, ive never watched a nascar race, but the sound of that engine gives me a hard on

  • Agreed.... Although F1 is a bit boring, 80's Group B Rallying is where the action is at.

  • and this is why they repaved it..

  • Nascar have more than 800 Horse power. And V8 engine and incredible sound. Drive this car in your city ;) all girl yours. xD

  • wow impressive, topfuel cars make over 800 hp in one cylinder lmao

  • thats because topfuel is runnin on nos these rnt

  • @random4nutin uh no jackass top fuel cars use no nitrous you tool

  • @brandonbuckman wow, it must be REALLY hard to go in a straight line for 5 seconds /sarcasm

  • @Rcrby525 well mr. sarcasm, have you ever tried to keep 7,000 hp going n a straight line? go 2 a NHRA event sometime and watch the rubber getting put down, there is nothing straight about it ;)

  • @Rcrby525 it actually is, you have to be very good at shifting and you may not know that they are keeping a 7000hp car going in a straight line at 300mph, lets see you do that if its so easy.

  • OMG i love that sound i did laps at pocono but i would love to go here

  • God I love that sound!

  • Gosh, I miss this, the good ol' concrete dega.

  • Wow now that´s a very nice video.Oh and what a sound......love it

  • Oh my God! What a great video.

  • SWEET. I love it.

  • Ha say that at 200mph

  • Look: WRC is an art, but Nascar to.

In WRC, you want the car to turn: Is the challenge...

In Nascar you want it to... Turn!

As absurd it is. But, no Pendulum in Nascar... You have to let go the car without breaking or slowing down, you have to still get the car "relax" since you go fast without going in the wall... And at that speed, the car start to feel nervous. Add traffic around you, and it hell.

In WRC, no traffic, but you want to be nervous to get the hell out of the curve.

  • @therrydicule and avoid risky spectators and photogrophers who jump out to get a picture.

  • @Rcrby525 Well, if they get on the way it might be because they fell suicidal... So.

Just joking, but seriously: stay away from some dangerous spot if you are looking at rally. There is some information on the net about what not to do, including the basic "not stay in the middle of the road".

  • how long ago was this ?

  • Oct 28, 2005

  • Thats what I'm talking about SON lol. How much does it cost to do this?

  • 135 at daytona for 3 laps

  • You havent lived until you have taken a ride around Talladega. Its awesome!

  • sure never looked that bumpy from the race in car cameras. of course now the new surface makes for rather spectacular racing now that they don't bounce around.

  • I prefer the old surface for watching the racing since they had less control of those 3K+ behemoths. But when I go back and drive the car myself (after I save up the fundage), I'll be glad for the slick, smooth surface.

  • I found this interesting because of the engine sound. I remember in-car footage from around 1990/1991 and it sounded exactly the same, but today you don't have that sound. I thought the engines had changed, but I guess it actually is the camera technology. Good to know the sound is still alive.

  • One of the things i love in nascar races is the sound of the engines. It's awesome!!!!

  • the plate tracks dont have that awesome engine noise to them now the COT is different :( they sound like atlanta or anywhere else

  • nice very nice

  • That...was.......AAAAAAWESOME!!!!

  • now i wonder if thy have the COT cars at the tracks now.. im going to do this at daytona probably

  • Wow what a vid! Thanx for the trip, dude... Nothin beats the roar of these V8s! Do these nascar flitzers have actually "only" 4 gears? Amazing reaching such top speeds with such "classic" mechanics, that's what I love in nascar!

  • txs for the comment; yup, only 4 gears. Classic 4 barrel carburetor, intake manifold, headers. Do hate the COT and Chase format that NASCAR has put in place to try and lift ratings and ticket sales.

  • right. hope that "more secure" COT cars won't feature "more boring" championships... know what i mean... let's see next year...

  • Yeah the "chase" things sucks. #24 would have 6 championships now if it weren't for the chase cr*p.

  • damn right

  • What's wrong with the COT?

  • I think there is nothing wrong with the COT. It handles well at Daytona. The drivers aren't complaining. Old School fans are complaining, i'm one of those old school fans. Its safer, takes less handling and more on dirver skill. ITS HERE TO STAY DEAL WITH IT.

  • You are totaly correct in all that you said. But...this is s'pose to be "stock" car racing. The new cars don't look like anything stock...you can't even tell tham apart anymore, they all look alike. As for exiting races...to borrow from Dale Jr., back in the day when they actualy ran "stock" cars, those races were every bit as exiting as anything today.

  • yeah brettt777 you're megaright.

personally i agree 100% with you but racing standards as you may know are today totally different (especially regarding the financial aspects, sponsors, etc.) as yesterday's golden days... money talks, everyone agree?

so, (beeeark!) let's find some places to get some burns, there are many places to find yet, we just have to ask....

  • How loud is it actually in the car, i know its loud outside of them.

  • It's loud in a good way! Too loud to talk, but not ear drum shattering. The fire hood and helmet cancel out some of the noise, but it's great to hear & feel the horsepower!

  • Did the instructor hold the camera for you? I also have driven the track last March, and will be heading back next month. I got to 179 on the new surface.

  • I was sitting shotgun. Someday I'm going to save up enough $ to be able to drive. I want to feel the draft. This was on the old surface - bumpy! I'd like to compare my ride to one on the new surface.
