"They don't sound anything like DM" LOL you must need new batteries in your hearing aid. I've been listening to DM for 25 years. I used to be in a band and we sounded just like DM. I was almost fooled into believing this was Dave for the first 30 seconds. I thought someone fucked up and put new DM here. This is obviously not DM after you hear a few bars, but this is blatant DM influence. Unmistakable, undeniable.

yes it sounds like Depeche Mode, which is understandable given the latter's huge influence on synthpop and "Dark" synthpop.

But they manage to add their own unique touch, and don't seem to have (yet) incorporated as many rock elements.

@Vebinz Don't forget ... Kraftwerk was funded in 1970 by Florian Schneider-Esleben and Ralf Hütter, I consider the electronic music before this period as only experimental. I forget "Tangerine Dream" funded in 1967, German band too !

Don't forget ... Mr Gore from DM leaving in Berlin since 5 years with Christina Friedrich, and the and recorded 3 albums in studio Hansa (Berlin), Martin like the night life in Berlin, Martin as influenced by Kraftwerk an German SynthPop band.

Finally all this to say that Germany is the cradle of the electronic music, and that Depeche Mode (That I also like), has no exclusivity of the electronic pop music.

Not entirely true. Electronic music pre-dated Kraftwerk and German bands, and has earlier roots in the US and France.

Point Blank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!! World In My Eyes by Depeche Mode. It's so obvious. How could it not have crossed the bands mind while making this track. He even sounds and sings like David Gahan. I'm not saying this bands music is bad. In fact I do like it. I wonder what Depeche Mode thinks......haha.

The only thing that is similar is it is synth based dark pop. The structures are of the songs are quite different-Mode writes a lot of tight 8th note based rhythems, these D/V veers more toward 16th notes. Mode has increasingly used more guitars, & accoustic drums, these guys dont. Martin sings really sappy ballads on occasion. Just a different band. If you think these bands sound the same go listen to some guitar crap! It's all the same crap with guitars, three chords and distorsion...

Meh, DM has a sound that is theirs. These dave gahan vocals are simply hilarious. Bottom line is that this song is so obviously a stylistic rip-off of DM that the ONLY people who will deny it are eastern europeans. i have very broad horizons and listen to many bands that sing in their native languages even, so the fake english accent here is duly noted.

yep, their music is highly influenced by dm, it sounds like depeche mode soo much but at the same time they maintain their style .

but hen again what synth/electronic band is not influenced by Dm, look at neuoticfish and beborn beton , they sound like depeche too.
