"...the greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone.
Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter." - Bill Mollison
While I am a fan of Mr. X in a very broad sense, in the sense that I think he provoked thought, his aim (violent political struggle) was overshadowed by the reality that Blacks and Whites (and everyone else in the US) were there to stay. The way forward, therefore, had to be a solution that didn't divide, but rather brought the two sides together. Whites and Natives are here to stay. The problem we face is how to resolve our problems, so that positive peace prevails amongst friends.
I'm sure your aware that Malcolm Little upon his travels to Mecca, realized that their are all brothers from all races. Blue eyed, blond haired brothers of Islam are all equals. The problem won't ever be solved by a Government that works in secrecy and historically opposes liberal views. Hence the neo-cons that we find in power today in Canada is justly and rightly perceived as non conducive to solving our issues.
I agree with you on that point too. I wish there was a Martin Luther King Jr figure in the Aboriginal movement that could do the same for that cause, as he did for civil rights in America. He, and perhaps Ghandhi, are two of the most important figures of the previous century, and they have done so much to advance positive peace (as opposed to negitive peace) in the world. We need that in Canada. For Canada's collective future, we need to resolve lingering issues so we can walk forward together
I certainly concur that we need a solution to the Native and non native racial problems. I find myself perplexed that something as simple as respect and real open real solutions to real problems. With all the enlightenment of the ages, we find ourselves unable, correction unwilling to use the rationale mind. I love Malcolm Liitle X's fiery master of words and way of moving people. I do however, appreciate your participation in my attempt at provoking thought as well.

This morning 10 gaffers from Austria took me out for breakfast. As Jane says it was "YUMMY"
I also had the Trinity Baptist Church pray for the 35 kids murdered at BayPoint School and then I spoke at the pulpit as well praising MLK who blessed me 22 times in 1966 & 1967 & praising Jesus the Christ forever also.
Man, you are brainwashed! You obviously haven't come from an innercity where Native gangs are killing each ohter and terrorizing elders. So much in poverty and dont give a fuck. And forget about the rez thats worst then the innercities- no law there, shitty houses, and people shooting at each other. You make it sound like some kind of romantic thing- whites against indians. its worst-natives against natives and corrupt band councils who don't give a fuck. rap real shit, not some 101 native study
The only blood I will spill for my fight of land will be my own at the hands of my oppressors. Things have and will change, we startred our fight before the age of the internet and current technologies so adapting does change strategy and the way of going about things. I use images and sounds to provoke thought nothing more.

Powerful words ... but not exactly true, start as you intend to finish were the words a wise warrior once gave to me
this does not mean complacency, direct non violent resistance and action are powerful
Peace but not without the Land !
