The Holmes cover of Circus Paradise has just posted on my channel. Please come watch. It's my favorite version of this song out there! Nice to hear it sung by someone else :)
took the fucking words right outta my mouth, its music you listen to when youre alone on public transit or wandering through a large city at night. makes you feel nostalgic to the max
Do we actually know who Burial is yet? I could be really late in realising this, but William Bevan is a funeral directors somewhere in the west of england. And I heard that picture of him isn't actually him either. Can anyone clear this up for me?
this better be released digitally.. Burial is ideally listened to whilst roaming the streets of a metropolitan city at night.. and that just cannot be done with a vinyl.
Best walking to the bus stop or train station after a gig in the rain. Unfortunatly I doubt it is, I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get my hands on the vinyl
@thecolossus2011 no its not, its supposed to sound like this one ^^ (minus MAH talking) - but the versions without the dj talking sound distorted and shitty
to anyone who is raging they didnt get a copy on vinyl, dont get too worked up. ive got one and i can honestly say it sounds shit, the 2 tracks are heavily distorted no matter what setup ive tried and ive seen loads of ppl saying the same thing on forums. so people payin upwards of 150 quid on ebay are gona be really disapointed, it sounds ridiculous but this youtube version actually sounds far better than the vinyl!
I've listened to this track so many times over the past few months, I lost count. When I'm having a rough day or feeling beaten down by life, this music calms my soul and soothes my nerves in a way that I can't even begin to describe. It's better than any alcohol I might drink or pharmaceuticals I might put in my body. It's pure. It's good. Thank you Burial.
I know this has been said many time before, but Burial is to music to what Bansky is to art to what Braid is to video games.
There's that same sense of subtle depth. The same sense of breathtaking atmosphere.
The same sense where only the most open-minded, intelligent and gifted people will be truly blown away from what it can do and the whole purpose of these things.
Just incredible, really. Absolutely fucking incredible.
I take my hat off to Mary Ann Hobbs, she has done the UK music scene a fucking huge favour by opening the Dubstep scene to the mass. She is an inspirational DJ and I truly wish her the best of luck, she just makes Jo Wiley look even more like a boring old Radio 2 pretentious hag. I have even started to make Dubstep now, all the money I make from it I put towards charity, just like Burial I intend to stay out of the commercial scene, Burial is music's Banksy, absolute perfection.
@FlexxArtist LOL banksy is one of the most recognized mainstream artists nowadays. staying out of the media for him is just part of his mysterious facade. know your art scene before you start comparing.
@Cantjeuh People seriously need to chill about other people's comments, it was just a figure of speech like I said to someone else as the concept is basically the same between them both, I am fully aware that their intentions and reasoning behind their actions are different however the way the both go about it is similar.
@godardmelvillemann also a possibility. but still commercial, in that he differs from burial. I also find burial to have a lot more talent than banksy. banksy is also talented but doesn't really use it. he just makes witty comments, which is funny though.
I don't really think you can compare them, banksy is not absolute perfection, I don't always even find it art, though burial is always art and perfection. if that makes any sense haha :)

Man, I can say that I am obsessed with 140 bass music more so than anyone I have ever met, or talked to, or heard of. I know this genre to the ends of eternity, and know everything there is to know about this music, artists, labels, tunes, dubs, etc. But I can not, and never have, been able to enjoy burials music. It just doesn't connect with me like it does a lot of people.
BY FAR THE BEST THING I HAVE LISTENED LATELY TO...For those who are exiled to live in the dark side of the moon, fighting with their daemons and getting inspired by the silence, feeling safe and preparing to meet again the light...
I would genuinely cry if I was one of the lucky people to get hold of one of those 12's. No joke I would be in tears as I slowly plop my Technics 1210's needle on the perfectly cut beautiful vinyl. Just imagine the sound of this with the vinyl crackle. That's it I'm gonna kill myself I can't take the shame of not owning this :'(
