  • awesome! hey man i have a question the mic shure sm57 that i think that ur using in this vid, where you conected? to a interface or something like that

    Thanks!

  • @tommybreschi

It's connected to a soundcard and I'm using Logic Pro for recording.

  • Hi Bjorn, I have a question: do you like the Tex Mex pickups for the Gilmour sounds? I use them in my Squier CV 50's OW Strat, the one with the golden pickguard, and with a Seymour Duncan SSL5 in the bridge. I'm considering on changing the neck and middle pu to Fender CS '69, but would rather spend the money on a better tremolo bridge ;)

  • @ivoguitars93

They're OK but a bit too much mid range for Gilmour's tones I think, which makes the Big Muff sound a bit too dark. The 69s has considerable lower output than the SSL5 and TexMex so you might experience some balance issues.

  • @BjornRiis

Okay, but besides the mid range and the output, are there any other differences? And would changing the bridge also make a difference? Because I don't use the tremolo, I'm not sure if it's a necessary upgrade.

  • @ivoguitars93

Whether or not you use the tremolo has little to do with the overall tone. The bridge block and the way the system operates is what matters. An upgrade to better quality bridge will definitely improve the overall tone, sustain and give you a smoother operation.

  • @BjornRiis

Okay thanks a lot, I've decided to change the bridge and keep the pickups, cause I think they will come close to Gilmour's sound, but more importantly, to my own sound. I really appreciate the help Bjorn, thanks again :)

  • What is the radius on your black strat on the chair?

  • @TheMaddenfan123

    7.25"

  • @TheEarthBlues2: I'd get this. The RT20 is a great pedal but a chorus is more suited for Shine On... or better, a Phase 90.

  • @Ironhandjohn:

It's my band Airbag and the song White Walls ffrom our latest album.

  • What's the song playing at the intro of this video?

  • @Ironhandjohn Speak to me/Breathe

  • @Ophidianrising

Not what he was playing in the demo.. Who doesn't know those songs? I meant the one at the very beginning while the camera is panning over the pedal, just underneath his introduction of the pedal. It was only a few bars, but I've never heard it before. Something from a DG solo album, perhaps?

  • @Ironhandjohn Nothing I could recognize, maybe he was just goofing off? I could barely hear it over him talking IF that is what you are talking about.

  • @Ironhandjohn

It's White Walls from my band Airbag. Check out our new album All Rights Removed :)

  • @BjornRiis

I checked out your band and ended up buying both albums from iTunes...

Good stuff, man! I'm a fan now, for sure...

  • @Ironhandjohn

Thanks a lot for your support!

  • @BjornRiis

    You're welcome!!

Keep up the good music and I'll buy it, too!!

  • Very nice. I'd love to see you do a full cover of Mihalis! Great job!

  • Nice :) is that a david gilmour custom shop strat on the chair ?

  • Do you suggest this or the Boss RT-20 for that Shine On tone? Two different, effects, I know, just curious though.

  • nice
