  • I carry a CZ 75 Compact. Excellent pistol. Nice review, Jeff.

  • Jeff, is the "Cold War" version CZ 75 identicle to this gun ?

  • Pretty close, but not 100 percent identical.

    jeff

  • The bad guy target looks like Leonid Brezhnev. And the gun is made in Czechoslovakia.

  • I just bought my first 9mm, a CZ 75B. I'm very happy with this gun! Couldn't afford a SIG and I think this is better than the XDm I was going to buy for $100 more. Plus it's ALL STEEL except for the grips. I notice he wraps his support finger around the trigger guard when he shoots. i was wondering what that flat knurled spot was for. I think I'll try that next time at the range

  • Just got mine from damascusgunshop and I absolutely love it... very nice shooter, super sweeeet...

  • COME AND TAKE IT FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS!

I had that professionally etched on my guns. I thought some day it will help police figure out why they had to.

  • im going to grow a bread and dye it white; so i can be 1/16 as cool as this man!!

  • Jeff, what distance are you shooting the bad guy target?

  • 25 yards.

  • @Gunblastdotcom i have watched other vids by reputable shooters and i like this gun. it seems to drive the bullets harder than other 9mills. have you noticed that too?

  • @Gunblastdotcom Would you recommend a CZ 75 Compact or a Ruger SR9C for carry and some light target shooting?

  • Ehh, I was contemplating on getting this, or a eaa witness, ended up with a witness (same price but came with a .22LR conversion kit).... I have to live with my choice, not that its a bad once, but its not as sleek as the cz =/

  • hmm this or a berreeta 92fs.....what is more durable

  • Both are good, but for durability, I would bet on the CZ.

    Jeff

  • @choopdewoot Keep in mind that the Beretta, along with the Sig 226 were the only two pistols that even made the finals in the US Pistol Trials...I am a former Army Ranger....both are going to be highly durable...both are really great shooters and I've seen some Beretta's that have been through hell and back and still going strong..I have a lot of respect for the M9..with that said..I like the ergo of the 75B with the Omega trigger.

  • I just got a uzi eagle I can use cz holster right?

  • Yes you can.

    Jeff

  • got mine a few weeks ago.......CZ is a keeper!

  • Can you dry fire a CZ 75B? I keep getting different answers. Thanks.

  • Yes I can. It does no harm.

    jeff

  • Nice shooting -it's an excellent gun. Check out the Shadow & Mamba too!

  • i like you what a nice guy you ara

  • best pistol ever made in 9mm, got all of the 3 kings 22 Ruger 22/45, ODI viking 45 ACP(like a commander 1911 but in D/A) and the CZ85B, coz im a lefty. Never jam, shoot steel gun Glock bitches;)

  • this guy looks and sounds like he is ex. US navy. i burp.

  • I'll take that as a compliment! However, I am not ex-Navy.

  • That's a nice gun! I am going to have to shoot one sometime!

  • @angiemarielawson I agree, you should.

  • No offense dude...but wtf are you thinking with that beard?

    Great review!

  • @theboredman1 you have somethin against beards boy?

  • @cerberusgoddog Well, I don't, but the whole two braids and then bush all around doesn't appeal to me. To each his own.

Oh, and the whole tough routine you are playing is not that convincing lol. "Boy?" HA!

  • @theboredman1 routine? pfffft. i dont need to convince anyone of anything. fuck off. it was funny. well... to me. have fun with your dont ask dont tell laws, homo.

  • damn I want to buy this and the baretta m92f.

  • This isnt just a pistol. ITS A 9MM SEMI AUTOMATIC HAND GUN! OF SCIENCEEEEEEEEE!~

  • cz 75 p-01 is one of my favorites. Jeff is the coolest dude ever, I wish he was my uncle :)

  • Well, my brother used to get around a lot, so anything's possible.

  • Cause Jeff is a real man .......Gun Smoke not the Veiw. My 2 cents. CZ p01 is my fav......)

  • JEFF WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING SAFETY GLASSES????

  • @dcarpen1 His facial hair protects him

  • BECAUSE I OFTEN DON'T DO THAT WHICH IS BEST FOR ME!!!! For example, I eat too much, I ride Harleys, and I got married.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Hero.

  • @MrPmerv what about the desert eagle / combat pistol?

  • wasnt that gun based off of the browning hi power? i like it tho but a 1911 definatly looks better

  • Avarmadillo is it better then the colt 1911? My Brother thinks that the colt is the best pistol ever.

  • There are features on the CZ 75 that are better, such as the slide rails being inside the frame rails, but it really comes down to preference. I love 1911s, while Jeff Cooper loved the CZ 75 design.

  • @Gunblastdotcom My 1992 CZ 75 shoots as smooth as and more accurately than my Sig p226 stainless--which is a fantastic machine--a work of art. It's hard to conceive of a pistol being more accurate than the 75--smooth, low recoil and dependable. Love my Sig--but the CZ is better. Awesome!

  • @Fishman2618 Never shot the 1911--I think my sig 226 is modeled somewhat after the 1911--but the internal slide rail design is awesome! I don't see how any gun could be much better--wonderful to shoot...just wonderful. Lots of used ones on the gunsamerica web site from Robertsons Trading post. Used from Czech police--good people at Robertsons.

  • @Fishman2618 What about a combat pistol?

  • @Fishman2618 What about the desert eagle/combat pistol?

  • Its made in 1975.

  • just got a CZ 75 made in 92----best and most accurate gun I know of. Awesome.

  • I really like my CZ75b. This pistol was made for my hand. I got mine for $406, four years ago. It came with 2 10 round mags. I got 2 promag 15 round magazines, and removed the magazine catch spring so the magazines drop free.

  • i found osama

  • i like this guy i dont know why

  • I do too, and I KNOW why!

    ;-)

  • I have a pre B.

  • @GothChristianPatriot I had two and they were very finnicky and had marginally reliable. The CZ75B I have on the other hand is very reliable.

  • @esh325 Did you ever check your springs. Some of the early imports had 12 pound recoil springs.

  • @GothChristianPatriot I was too distraught to bother at the time.

  • jeff got all the straps

  • Chuck Norris braided his beard.

  • hey jeff where did you get the target at

  • triggerhappytargets-dot-com.

  • @Gunblastdotcom o ok thanks man

  • 85b rules,everybody can use it:)

  • hell yea, my kind of gun

  • The gun reminds me of GTA TLaD.

  • just bought the bd version double action i think thats the only difference with the safety decock feature i love it even tho a heavy gun but very strong and accurate =)

  • It works well with either hand.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom

I thought that's only with the 75 B version, for it was made pure to be ambidex.

  • Love my CZ 75. I hope they never stop making them.

  • First two pistols I ever owned were a CZ 75 and a Browning Mark III. Both great pistols. Nice vid. I like your excellent taste in music just about as much as the reviews.

  • how is the trigger compared to the polymer DA guns like the glock and sr9?

  • It is a different type of trigger. Both double action (long pull) and single action (short, crisp pull)

    Jeff

  • Jeff great review I have the 45acp in a cz love the gun

  • Do you ride?

  • Yes I do.

    Jeff

  • @Emery98 You should do a Gunblast ride for the NRA or your favorite charity. I would not miss that. When are you selling T shirts with you logo?

  • I have a 9mm CZ 75 SP-01 (Tactical) and the guide rod isn't steel, but plastic (or maybe polymer?).

Is the guide rod on a the CZ 75 steel, as you said all steel construction?

Don't know why CZ chose to put a plastic guide rod in a gun that is all steel and weighs enough to not worry about a few extra ounces of weight.

But it's not a big deal at all!

I had no problems with the guide rod before I got a stainless steel one from CZCustom.com for ~$25.

Great video, man, keep up the good work!

    =)

  • That is why it is squared off and textured. Many of us old geezers were trained that way.

    Jeff

  • This weapon seems a lot like the Ruger P85. Would you agree?

  • In operation, it is very similar, but the design principles are different. The P85 is an excellent weapon, but lacks the cocked-and-locked carry mode.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom I am glad to hear that you like the P85. It does not get much attention as a good 9mm pisto. I think it is an excellent 9mm. If you had to choose one 9mm to carry what would it be?

    I like your new logo.

  • Hard choice, as there are many good ones. My main carry 9 is a S&W M&P, but I am really becoming fond of my Ruger SR9c.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thanks! I always value your opinion.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Hey Jeff,

I have a Harrington and Richardson .410 shotgun, and it's pretty old. People keep telling me that a .45LC will work in it, but I haven't decided to buy a box and try it. What do you think?

  • It would probably fire, but accuracy would be horrible from a shotgun barrel.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom

For those of us who don't know - what makes it better than a XD or Glock?

  • I do not know that it is better. They are all three very good weapons. It just depends upon personal preference.

    Jeff

  • What would you say the best ww2 rifle would be? Mauser? Springfield? Lee-Endfield? Your choice?

  • My choice would be the M1 Garand. Those that you listed, while still in use at the time, were from WWI.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom but still in use during ww2 non-the-less

  • Yes, that is correct.

  • damn, i really like tht like

  • I like your flag. Get an Obama flag that says "PLEASE Come & Take Him"

  • Hey Jeff, I just was given a Marlin Model 60 DLX 50th anniversary model from a friend. Thanks for your reviews! After I saw your review on the Marlin I told my buddy about it and he bought one for me, and one for himself. Love the CZ 75!!!! It is a little heavy, but it takes the best features of a high power, and a 1911 and puts it in one gun.

  • Do you know if you can get a trigger job to get the pull down to 4lbs.

  • Yes, any decent gunsmith can do that for you, on the single-action pull.

    Jeff

  • this is what i love about your reviews jeff. rather than just reviewing automatics that most people will never see, you find either the tried-and-true or the easy to find so 99.9% of people could watch your review and use it for real world information.

i mean, i love my NFA guns as much as anyone, but i carried a cz-75 for 3 years as my CCW and i really don't think they get the respect they deserve.

  • Like most things in life, it is the newest and flashiest that gets the media attention. If the CZ-75 had a gas-piston system or two feet of Picatinny rail, you would be reading about it everywhere!

    Jeff

  • Good review. I have experience with these. They are good feeling, good looking, VERY accurate service pistols, made of genuine steel. The trigger smooths up well with use.

Just two negatives on the CZ-75. One, the captive slide (slide inside frame) improves accuracy but makes it hard to manipulate slide to clear malfunctions. That's a problem in a combat pistol.

Two, CZ uses weak magazine springs. Didn't cause problems for me but can sap your confidence when loading & handling the gun.

  • @classof77 I've put about 4,000 rounds through my 75B Omega. In all of those rounds I've had one misfire, a stove pipe. The slide is no problem whatsoever after you've owned the gun for about 2 days. I've also heard about magazines wearing out earlier but so far so good? I couldn't say ether is a con....after owning Sigs, Glock and a USP and not liking the ergo on any of them, the 75 was a god send and I liked it so much I now have sp-01 in 40 and it's a dream to shoot.

  • @freedog008 I've got thousands of rounds through CZs, have used them in matches and defensive training, and know very well what I'm describing. The captive slide makes it difficult to accomplish the "over the top" slide rack recommended by most instructors for clearing malfunctions. Instead you gotta "slingshot" the slide. It's a problem.

I agree that the CZ magazine springs generally do fine. My worries about them are based on the weak feeling tension, not actual experienced malfunctions.

  • @classof77 You just haven't got the skills then. It's like Special Forces, some people have the skills, some don't. No big deal.

  • @freedog008 LOL internet gun dude. Tell it to John Farnam and lots of other top firearms instructors. Have fun!

  • @classof77 You mean all those non-combat guys or the guys that got LOM'd or Bolo'd. You have a lot to learn CLASSOF77...

  • i have a CZ rami 40 cal.. great little gun, but for some reason CZ not to popular in the U.S.

  • I love CZ products.

  • You are the king of trustworthy descriptiveness - right on all the time.

  • Trigger is apparently not very good without a trigger job.

  • @ethosflux shoot 500 rounds and it will get softer

  • Read the review on Gunblast.com for trigger details.

    Jeff

  • CZ are my fav pistols

  • hey jeff how good do you think a remington .243 bolt action rifle is

    please reply

  • The Remington 700 243 is very good. I would avoid the 710 and 770.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom whats wrong with them

  • Nothing really wrong with it, but the 700 is just built to a higher standard. However, even our cheaper guns built today are usually more accurate than the premium rifles of fifty years ago.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom looking at getting myself a Mosin nagant as my initial rifle any tips or feedback?

  • Excellent weapon. Very strong and reliable. Stock up on ammo while it is cheap. Later, it will be neither cheap nor readily available.

    Jeff

  • @ThatFoolishBoy I bought a mosin a couple months back and I love it very easy to clean and maintain as well.

  • @peytonabadeedee thank you wanted a gun that I could always rely on as my starter rifle nice to hear only good things

  • @Gunblastdotcom whats wrong with the 770 i shot it today and got a 1 inch group at 100 yards with 4 rounds

  • great review, I plan on getting one.

  • Great review thank you Jeff

  • how big is gunblast headquarters ps your reviews are the best on youtube

  • sweet flag where can i get one

  • sevenbros-dot-com. If you go to the Gunblast main page and click the "Come and Take It" near the top right, it will take you directly to the page where you can order one. They're only $5.99.

  • @Gunblastdotcom thank you

  • nice to see a true patriot flying a gonzales , texas flag.

  • Yep, the flag is updated a bit from the original, but has been flying over Gunblast.com World Headquarters for a couple of years now.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Its makes me feel better learning from like minded people with the constitution in mind.

  • another nice vid and nice pistol. thank you

  • thanks jeff, i've watched all your videos twice and have been looking for a good 9mm pistol and the video chinched my decision thanks so much your videos rock! please keep doing them!!!!!

  • Can CZ's handle +P & +P++ ammo?

  • @4Ugrunt My CZ75B handles +P just fine, I never use +P+ in any of my guns, but I would guess it can handle them, just don't overdo it.

Remember that all European 9mms are created to be shooting 9x19 NATO, which is a hot 9mm compared to typical Luger. 9x19 NATO is equivalent to +P and pretty much all European guns were made to handle it.

  • @metalfaust19 Actually +p is more pressure than the 9mm nato.

  • @makun16 Correction, +P has a higher maximum pressure. The maximum PSI for +P is 38,500, but this does NOT mean that all +P ammo is at this pressure, this is merely the maximum. Most +P is not this this hot, most +P you buy from manufacturers will be between 36,500 and 37,000 PSI. Anything over 38,500 PSI is considered +P+ for 9mm.

For reference, 9mm NATO sits at 36,550 PSI. It is easy to assume it is on-par with typical +P loadings, though +P can potentially be higher, it often is not.

  • Absolutely. I used both in the review on Gunblast.com

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thanks I appreciate your reply. I've held a cz 75 b and it really seems well balanced in my hand.
