  • @amandabcrowe Aaronpauling(DOT)Com

  • I wish that roaches were legal to sell in Canada. We sure do have some silly laws up here. I am thinking of just driving across the boarder to pick up a few and sneak them over. My T. blondi sure would appreciate them.

  • @Chaoitcme That is dumb. Roaches couldn't become evasive there! They'd die outside, its too cold, I mean, they can in Florida since it can be tropical there but these are tropical T's we're talking about here! They couldn't do crap up there in Canada!

  • @thehat222 I put tropical T's...I meant cockroaches...

  • @thehat222 I know. We have some stupid animal laws up here in Canada. I don't get it. It is legal to import any kind of spider but we can not import roaches. Silly laws. The spiders could be lethal but roaches sure will not be.

  • You are simply a genious Rob :). I wouldn't even think to do all that for the roaches. Great job bro like always!

  • ok you say to show roach colony but i see no roaches, idk i wanted to see what was said to be shown, kinda a disappointment, but the first one i had about out of all of your videos.

  • Hey Rob have a question what will you give the Roach plaice for dinner?

  • Just imagine if they all got out.

  • How long does a roach live for?

  • @RollerToaster34 12-24 months

  • @RollerToaster34

hissing cockroach can live up to 5 years

  • So, these roaches are taken care of pretty well and then slowly fed to your tarantulas right?

  • @AnAznPersuasion Yep, roches are fed fresh fruits/veggies and also catfood....very good diet!!

  • how quickly do they breed? and my sister wants to get a rosehair soon (against my moms will. lol) how often would you need to feed it, and i can hear you saying something about the roach barrier, and the things people use it for but i can't understand clearly so could you explain (you were speaking softly) but now im really curious.

  • @kdkretch1993: They breed quickly! The barrier is just some packing tape along the top of the inside (sticky side down) of the enclosure.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 would it be a good idea to put like a piece of fresh fruit in a slings enclosure for moisture, like would they drink from it? and also, what can i feed the slings? the biggest ones are an inch. i cut up a super worm but they didnt eat (could have been they were still stressed from being shipped, we just got them wednesday) and when should i try feeding them again?

  • @kdkretch1993 I wouldn't put fruit in there, mold will form. Give them about 3 days to feed again.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 ok, thank you!!!

  • hey rob i just got 100 roaches and all the deallars ive asked said you dont need a lid and i was wondering what your opinoun was plese respond

  • @herpdude122 you don't have to but I always prefer a lid....just to be safe

  • whats the best substitute for water crystals? i dunno where to get them here in the philippines

  • where u get the egg cartons at?

  • @XXXReptilesRockXXX Enasco (DOT) com

  • can u do a video on how to setup a leopard gecko tank and i'll subscribe

  • @seamonkeyfan15

I have a vid on that

  • is it ok to feed them rotting food like brown bannanas etc please reply

  • @herpdude122 sure!! They would love it!!!

  • what r they eating cat food or what

  • Hey I'm getting some Dubias soon. Hoping to start a small colony. Do you have a heat source for your colony? And if so, what do you recommend?

  • @andy2e I am shooting a new vid on my roaches, I need to keep them outside of the T room so I am using a glass tank with a heat-pad under it actually 2 heat pads bit it is a 4 foot tank LOL!!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 So, if a plastic container, use a light, if I use a tank, I can use heat pads?

  • @andy2e Yep! I prefer the glass tank because the babies can not climb it at all and the heat-pads work great!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Thanks! I'm not sure if I'm going to use a glass aquarium, or buy a plastic container yet. I'm getting 125 babies with 1 pair of adults, so I shouldn't need something too big yet.

  • @andy2e: You definately won't need anything too big with that many babies. You may want to consider getting more adults though, to start your colony with. I have something like 8000 now so I needed a bigger container. LOL

  • @tarantulaguy1976 haha I see that you did. I'm going to ask about getting more adults, but the deal is 125 babies, 1 pair. And its only 15$, free shipping. My beardie is only a baby so I don't want the colony growing too fast for me to feed them.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 roaches seem to breed so fast that u need to give them a bigger container quite often what will happen if u dont and there all cramped together?

  • @scorpians111 I do it because it is easier to clean, they love being all together...they actually make heat by doing this.

  • @andy2e Do NOT use a heat-pad on a plastic container, may cause a fire!

  • What is that thing that you put at min 5.07? sorry but i'm italian and if you write me i can translate it and unterstand something!! XD :D

    thanks robc

  • @DegioKart92 That is roach barrier, keeps them from climbing!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 thanks robc...

  • How long do the water crystals last once you put them in there? pretty big roach mansion lol.

  • @Mythicdawn07 They last a pretty long time actually!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Dont they go bad/moldy?

  • @Mythicdawn07 Water crystals can't go bad or get moldy.

  • @Mythicdawn07 Ah awesome :D guess the thing i'v read was full of crap lol, cheers carnt wait to get my roach's sorted crickets are bloody noisey :D

  • Brilliant simply brilliant .. I love your enthusiasm!=o)

I am looking forward to my Nhandu becomes big enough to eat cockroaches, because crickets smells like S------------t * hahahaha * =o)

  • Make another update

  • Nice colony! How many do you hace? 1000?

  • In this vid about 4,000+ but I have about 6,000+ now.

  • Holy sh*t! I only got about 300 but i only have 2 tarantulas + 3 geckos :P

What do you use for food?

  • GREAT VID! P.S. do they ever get out and freak your wife out? P.S.S. what kind are they?

  • They never get out, my wife is not scared of them....I am lucky!!

  • you should really make more roach vids. only like 2 or 3

  • do u sell roaches?

  • nice thanks i deff getting some nice videos =] i most def sub =]

  • your colony is booming! I'm still just starting mine but I'm already seeing newborns.

  • It has gone crazy!!!! I have 2X as much now!!!

  • I can't help it...everytime I heard "Balaptica dubai"...all I can think of is Battlestar Ballaptica lol....picturing roaches with guns in space :D

  • Why use the bug stop barrier for a Blaptica dubia colony?

  • The small/babies can climb out with ease

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Really? Maybe it's because of the plastic? I've never seen any of my roaches climb up, but I keep them in a glass tank.

  • I am glad you brought this up because galss they will NEVER climb, but the gray plastic they can, I don't think they can climb the tub in this video either.

  • @varanidguy Either way, great video and you have a stunning collection!

  • 6:57 that's someones worst nightmare there that is lol

  • LOL i got no spiders large enough to eat Dubias

does it cost a lot to start a colony?

  • Nope....buy 20-40 roaches and you're good to go. Probably cost you all of about $20-$30.

  • hey rob could you give me the link of were u bought the roach barrier and the water crystals and stuff from because every were i look its really expensive

  • i thought that b dubias were non climbing roaches why do you need roach barrier? is it just a precaution

  • Yep!! just a precaution

  • So lets say I want this in my closet(No lights no window); Should I use a clear container?

  • That would be fine!!

  • Hey Rob, do you use an external heat pad or tape for your roach colony?

  • My T room is heated at 83 degrees!!

  • you should do another feeding video with roaches

  • i think all his feeding videos are with roaches..i dont see any worms or crickets..

  • WOW, I don't even know where you would get a tub that big. Ones I got from Longs were half that size!

  • where do u buy your screen

  • Home Depot - it's window screening...

  • No trolling here...you are blocked and reported.

  • Holy shit if i would see those in my room i would shit my pants! Im scared of those :S

  • Lol Thats like a roaches paradise! you put ssome nice ideas into thos cages

  • Aaron Pauling is a cool dude! i met him a few weeks ago.

  • sounds like it's raining, don't you think? :P

  • Man u really crack me up buddy!!!!! Awesome vid!!

  • dude whats the fredlyst starter spider and if so do u have any babes of them thanks

  • hey dude im britain we call them woodlice u no what im on about i was wondering do u need any i got loads thanks

  • My dubias of any age do not climb walls. I don't even need a lid. I'm not quite sure what is the point of a roachbarrier for them. Nice setup tho.

  • Mine climb, but the purpose of the lid is the cartons are only a few inches from the top and theyu can and will jump right out.

  • Rob, what do you use for food out of interest?

  • I use very cheap catfood (It has lower calcium1) and i feed them fruits high citrius wich hepls them breed!

  • could you tell me what you use to make their food please? I wanna start a roach colony and your is doing beautifuly! Do you sell any? If you do I might order 100-200 roaches/nymphs.

  • I used that fiberglass screen on latteralis and dubia cages until they chewed through it and I had roaches everywhere. Keep an eye on them!

  • Wow, if you really need that many roaches then go for it LOL

  • If roaches become extinct i know where they are rob, hehe! nice vid bro.

  • LOLOL

  • Goddamn thats a lot of roaches!

  • i heard you could use vaseline for the top have you ever tried that

  • It works good, but roach barrier is much better!

  • nice

  • hi rob!very nice idea for a roach colony container!

    Your videos are the best!

How do u heat your colony?

  • My entire room is heated/humidified by a dedicated furnace/hunidifier for that room.

  • Im thinking about starting a coloney. But im worryed as i do not have anyone to get water crystals or egg crate from.

I remember you saying something in one of the other videos about a cheap sorce, what was it?

Also, i only have 4 t's so i dont need 6,000 roachs.... what would be a good number of roachs to start with if im only feeding 4 T's?

(only 2 mature, one sling, and one juvinile)

  • The roach ranch (replied above or aaron pauling(Dot) com has it!

  • thanks!

  • wow huge colony

  • hahaha nice tip about the roach barrier. try to keep it PG

  • I tried to keep it PG LOL

  • Pretty cool stuff.

  • yeah my colony doesnt reproduce very well in the clear tubs. my room is lit over 10 hours a day so.

  • Do you have a black or dark towel you can put over the colony to keep it dark so they'll breed, track? When my tarantulas are adjusting to a new home I cover them up.

  • ooops i accidentely hit spam. but no i just went to walmart and picked up a dark grey sterilite tub. it only cost me like 4 bucks.

  • Lol @ the "I wouldn't suggest usin this for anything else, though" bit. People never cease to amaze me...... in good and bad ways >.>

  • awesome rob, selling any dubia? :D

  • Believe it or not I actually need them LOL

  • WoW..nice job...

  • You may know him as the "Billy Maze" or "Bob Villa" of the Tarantual community. OR you simply know him as "That guy on youtube that has all the spiders!" Either way he has put together another great tutorial video!..... Now lets discuss you doing some videos for my site. Cuz your MUCH better at it than me! LOL!

    Great job buddy!

  • Thank you!!! I have seen a lot of company's that sell roaches and you my friend take better care of your roaches than anyone I have seen, you feed them all the stuff that keep the healthy!!

  • Awesome!! I like the end, they're going crazy on the cat food.

  • I collect those egg trays from my job. I work in a resturant and we use them up eveyday. I have 4 in my closet, but I get get more. I use them for my roaches.

  • hi what are you feeding them

  • I feed them very cheap cat food 2X a wk....the cheaper food hqas low calcium, and 3x a week they get fruits, veggies.....if you want your colony to explode feed them citrius fruits, oranges, grapefruit, lime. This stimulates hormone excretion and cause them to breed!

  • I need to get more of this rice cereal I have for my feeders. Has no calcium (w/o milk added) and plus it has 2% copper which I actually read in TKG tarantula blood has more copper in it whereas we have iron and that's what makes their blood kind of blue. I don't know if it helps but we don't have dietary supplements for spiders. X-D

  • good lord thats a lot of roaches. if they broke out you got a big problem

  • B. dubia aren't really predisposed to infest much.

They'll stay where they are and probably just die. They can't climb, chew through anything or get into any mischief. You'd have a bigger problem with crickets.

  • Or!.. or instead of upgradeing them you can send me some :D

  • Imagine if they broke out and took over your house causeing a roach infestation.

  • They can't multiply, they wouldn't survive in the lower temps or breed LOL

  • hey u shoud sell them or sent them with ur tarantulas

  • I actualy need the m alll for my T;'s LOL

  • You could almost quit your job and live of these ones hehehe. Think im gonna do something like that with my cricket container. They do smell tho so im not gonna do that much ventilation on mine.

  • And damn, that is a good number of roaches. Admit it, you're building a roach army to take over the world! xD

  • awsome vid rob .

  • That's a roach castle lol =)))

  • rob, didnt they go from like 30 to 300 to 3000 to like 20000 now?!?

  • I have around 6,00 adults....counting baies I have no idea!!! LOL

  • be careful. some tubs have a few holes where the handles are. sometimes nymphs will try and snake out

  • Wow thats a lot of roaches! How many lol :D

  • awesome i've been thinking of getting a colony started

were can i get a lot of roaches cheap..?

  • buy 20, theyll multiply in no time

  • cool
