I wish that roaches were legal to sell in Canada. We sure do have some silly laws up here. I am thinking of just driving across the boarder to pick up a few and sneak them over. My T. blondi sure would appreciate them.
@Chaoitcme That is dumb. Roaches couldn't become evasive there! They'd die outside, its too cold, I mean, they can in Florida since it can be tropical there but these are tropical T's we're talking about here! They couldn't do crap up there in Canada!
@thehat222 I know. We have some stupid animal laws up here in Canada. I don't get it. It is legal to import any kind of spider but we can not import roaches. Silly laws. The spiders could be lethal but roaches sure will not be.
ok you say to show roach colony but i see no roaches, idk i wanted to see what was said to be shown, kinda a disappointment, but the first one i had about out of all of your videos.
how quickly do they breed? and my sister wants to get a rosehair soon (against my moms will. lol) how often would you need to feed it, and i can hear you saying something about the roach barrier, and the things people use it for but i can't understand clearly so could you explain (you were speaking softly) but now im really curious.
@tarantulaguy1976 would it be a good idea to put like a piece of fresh fruit in a slings enclosure for moisture, like would they drink from it? and also, what can i feed the slings? the biggest ones are an inch. i cut up a super worm but they didnt eat (could have been they were still stressed from being shipped, we just got them wednesday) and when should i try feeding them again?
@andy2e I am shooting a new vid on my roaches, I need to keep them outside of the T room so I am using a glass tank with a heat-pad under it actually 2 heat pads bit it is a 4 foot tank LOL!!
@tarantulaguy1976 Thanks! I'm not sure if I'm going to use a glass aquarium, or buy a plastic container yet. I'm getting 125 babies with 1 pair of adults, so I shouldn't need something too big yet.
@andy2e: You definately won't need anything too big with that many babies. You may want to consider getting more adults though, to start your colony with. I have something like 8000 now so I needed a bigger container. LOL
@tarantulaguy1976 haha I see that you did. I'm going to ask about getting more adults, but the deal is 125 babies, 1 pair. And its only 15$, free shipping. My beardie is only a baby so I don't want the colony growing too fast for me to feed them.
@tarantulaguy1976 roaches seem to breed so fast that u need to give them a bigger container quite often what will happen if u dont and there all cramped together?
I am glad you brought this up because galss they will NEVER climb, but the gray plastic they can, I don't think they can climb the tub in this video either.
hey rob could you give me the link of were u bought the roach barrier and the water crystals and stuff from because every were i look its really expensive
could you tell me what you use to make their food please? I wanna start a roach colony and your is doing beautifuly! Do you sell any? If you do I might order 100-200 roaches/nymphs.
Do you have a black or dark towel you can put over the colony to keep it dark so they'll breed, track? When my tarantulas are adjusting to a new home I cover them up.
You may know him as the "Billy Maze" or "Bob Villa" of the Tarantual community. OR you simply know him as "That guy on youtube that has all the spiders!" Either way he has put together another great tutorial video!..... Now lets discuss you doing some videos for my site. Cuz your MUCH better at it than me! LOL!
Thank you!!! I have seen a lot of company's that sell roaches and you my friend take better care of your roaches than anyone I have seen, you feed them all the stuff that keep the healthy!!
I collect those egg trays from my job. I work in a resturant and we use them up eveyday. I have 4 in my closet, but I get get more. I use them for my roaches.
I feed them very cheap cat food 2X a wk....the cheaper food hqas low calcium, and 3x a week they get fruits, veggies.....if you want your colony to explode feed them citrius fruits, oranges, grapefruit, lime. This stimulates hormone excretion and cause them to breed!
I need to get more of this rice cereal I have for my feeders. Has no calcium (w/o milk added) and plus it has 2% copper which I actually read in TKG tarantula blood has more copper in it whereas we have iron and that's what makes their blood kind of blue. I don't know if it helps but we don't have dietary supplements for spiders. X-D
B. dubia aren't really predisposed to infest much.
They'll stay where they are and probably just die. They can't climb, chew through anything or get into any mischief. You'd have a bigger problem with crickets.
You could almost quit your job and live of these ones hehehe. Think im gonna do something like that with my cricket container. They do smell tho so im not gonna do that much ventilation on mine.

@kdkretch1993: They breed quickly! The barrier is just some packing tape along the top of the inside (sticky side down) of the enclosure.

andy2e 1 year ago
@andy2e I am shooting a new vid on my roaches, I need to keep them outside of the T room so I am using a glass tank with a heat-pad under it actually 2 heat pads bit it is a 4 foot tank LOL!!
tarantulaguy1976 1 year ago
@tarantulaguy1976 So, if a plastic container, use a light, if I use a tank, I can use heat pads?
andy2e 1 year ago
@andy2e Yep! I prefer the glass tank because the babies can not climb it at all and the heat-pads work great!
tarantulaguy1976 1 year ago
@tarantulaguy1976 Thanks! I'm not sure if I'm going to use a glass aquarium, or buy a plastic container yet. I'm getting 125 babies with 1 pair of adults, so I shouldn't need something too big yet.

MrGrayish 2 years ago
