BTW, I'm usually there on Monday nights, I'm the strange Goth chick with the baby in the stroller at the bible study at IF coffehouse!! Great work!

    Lisa

PS, that psychic you got on film is actually pretty good!

  • Oh it's great to hear from a neighborhood regular. I love L5P but don't get over there very often and missed the Halloween parade this year. Thanks for watching! -Jim

  • WOW looks like fun- I've been to Atlanta, but didn't get to see Atlanta. Next time, I'll make time.

  • Thanks Nick. I really appreciate you watching! -Jim

  • Its earthy and funky and I like it! I wouldnt say its a little out of the way place, but its cool to see you made it out of the Vortex! LOL

  • I was just there last weekend :) Love L5P!!!

  • Hey Dee. It's a fun place isn't it? LOL -Jim

  • That was really neat. I need to ask my brother

about this little place. He lives in Atlanta

downtown called midtown I think. I am going to visit this place next time I visit him.

    Lauren.

  • Hi Lauren. Yep it's a few miles away from midtown but not far. Thanks for watching! -Jim

  • Colourful. I wanted to see what the sweet potato pie looked like I'm always fascinated by American food. Cheers, Lesley

  • Hi Lesley. Actually, that sweet potato pie place is a hair salon! LOL I don't know why in the world you would name a hair salon that but anything is possible in that neighborhood. Thanks for watching Lesley. -Jim

  • Looks very interesting Jim. - Jim

  • Oh yes it's always interesting over there Jim. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Looks like an area college kids would love to hang out in. Hey Jim, any predictions on whether or not my Buckeyes will make it to the BCS Championship???

  • Frank I kind of think Oklahoma will beat Missouri so I'll predict that the Buckeyes will play for a national championship! Good luck to you. -Jim

  • OK, I wanna visit Atlanta just so I can meet the Psycho Sisters. Very cool drive. What kind of cam do you use that you can drive and film at the same time? I've never figured out how Silverscreamgrl or Lemonette do it, either.

  • Hey Marc. I just use a little point and shoot camera that also takes video. It's a Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital Elph. It's small enough to slip in my back pocket which works great for all my travels. Thanks for watching! -Jim

  • Wow...that is really alternative! I love it! Damn I live in a sheltered place...heheh Some really groovy window displays there.

  • Hey Mic. It really is very alternative neighborhood. LOL I'm afraid the community I live in is the opposite of that place but it's just a short drive down there when I'm in the mood for a little craziness! Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Looks alot like Hollywood, Melrose and Santa Monacia Blvds all mixed together!! Also looks alot like Heigth/Ashbury in San Francisco. But I don't think I would Like it, I did not see any ice cream stores!!

  • Hey Texasred63. Yea, I've been to all those other places and you're right. I'm sure there's some ice cream there somewhere. That would be a must for me also! LOL -Jim

  • Looks Like A Crazy Normal Town To Me

  • Yea it's a little crazy alright DocCrash! Thanks for watching buddy. -Jim

  • This video is so bad-ASS! (You misspelled Georgia at the end though). *snickers*

Little 5 Points looks like a place I could totally dig. It reminds me of Ann Arbor, or a neighborhood in Baltimore called Fells Point.

  • Hey Cassidy. Damn I hate it when I misspell something in a video! LOL Yea, you would love Little 5 Points. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • The last time I was in Little 5 Points I went to a little blues bar that had been a bank at one point in time. They converted the vault to an Elvis shrine! I loved it. Do they still have all the shoes hanging from the power lines?

  • Come to think of it, I didn't see any shoes this trip. LOL -Jim

  • I wish I knew the current slang, but here's all that I can offer, "What a cool and funky little neighborhood!"

Very well put together vid', Jim :~)

  • Thanks Michele. I'm afraid I don't know the current slang either! LOL Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Love the street trumpet playing at the start. The mall reminds me of Affleck's Palace Manchester.

  • Hi Deakster. I love to see the street musicians. It really reminded me of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • How is New Orleans doing after Katrina? We sent some money across from the UK to help them.

  • New Orleans is still a total mess but the French Quarter downtown is doing great. OhCurt did a video of the area as he traveled through there a few weeks back. It was a real eye opener.

  • I love going to the health food co-op there, Sevenanda.

  • Hey Stuart. I've been into Sevanda but I forgot to stop by this trip. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Hey Peaches. The Vortex is known to have one of the best burgers in Atlanta. The mannequins were in a store called Junkman's Daughter and it is one crazy store! LOL Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Hey Jim. What a funky neighborhood. I wanna go. :) Jeannie

  • Hey phallinangel. It sounds like everyone wants to go! LOL Maybe we should have a YouTube gathering in Little 5 Points. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • COOL! It sorta reminds me of the Santa Monica area over by the pier (you've seen it if you ever watched a Three's Company episode).

  • Hey Curt. Yea, you're right it does look like that place in Santa Monica. I've actually been to that area. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Hi Curt! *waves*

  • Hi, Cindy!!

    :o)

  • Puff, Puff, Pass! That chick with the afro rocked! :) Great as always! :)

  • Hi Jason. Yea, the afro chick really did make it look like I was strolling the streets in 1970. ...retro for sure. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • I love little five points. The vortex has great food! : )

  • Hey Cindy. It had been a long time since I'd been over there but it was just as crazy as ever! LOL The votex really does have great burgers. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • I was there about a month ago!

  • Love it.

  • Hey Justin. I can see you hanging out in Little 5 Points! LOL It's a crazy place. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Those looked like some very good pajamas! What a wild place. Thanks for the trip ;O)

  • Hey Cindy. Yea, Little 5 Points is kind of crazy as you can see. I've been meaning to get over there because I knew it would make an interesting video. LOL The have a great Halloween Parade every year but unfortunately I was out of town this year. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Hopefully next year, Jim! I bet that is a wonder of a parade.

  • Hey Jim. Looks like a pretty interesting place. Thanks for taking us along. Just curious, which shop do you frequent the most? - Stormy & Sunny

  • Hey SunnyDazStormyNitz. The only shop I went into was Junkman's Daughter. I bought a wild hat and pair of glasses. LOL They have some pretty crazy stuff in there! Thanks for cruising the hood with me. -Jim

  • You sure you aint driving a time machine there Jim, looks like you transported yourself back to the 70s. Oh by the way is georiga a new us state? lol

    Mike

  • Hey Mike. You know, I kept thinking the same thing. Everything looked like it was right out of the early 70's. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Wow that is one cool place to discover all sorts of cool stuff! :D I saw at least 10 things i wish i had for a costume party! LOL Thanks for sharing it with us, Jim!

  • Hi Kop Kitty. The store you see called Junkman's Daughter really had cool things for costume parties. Thanks for watching! -Jim

  • Uber Kool! Chinese pajamas!!!

  • Hey Andy. Yea, it's a pretty cool place. I didn't even realize that the pajamas were Chinese. LOL -Jim

  • Looks interesting. I bet you could find lot of cool things there.People watching would be the best part. I somehow don't picture mom of country shopping there though :)

  • Sue it really is a great place for people watching. No, Mother Country would not approve of that place at all! LOL Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • I've been to Little Five Points! I bought some glow in the dark rosary beads :) Oh, and my glow in the dark Mary. ha! Good times :) The Vortex is still there! Wow, thanks Jim!! Nice trip down memory lane.

  • Wow Beth you do get around! LOL Isn't that the craziest place? Did you go in Junkman's Daughter's Place? Thanks for strolling the hood with me Beth. -Jim

  • If I'm not mistaken, that's where I got the glow in the dark rosary beads. The place has really quirky second hand clothes and stuff, right? If so, that's where I got them. We also went to a club down in that area one night. It was a drag queen place. Fun times. One of our group even got arrested and taken to the hospital for observation.

  • He popped his glass eyes out and everything! I cried. I got the police to let him go to the hospital with another friend instead of to jail. It was a very fun night hahaha

  • Sounds like one wild fun night Beth! hahaha

  • Oh my, it certainly was. It was the first time I'd ever gone to a hospital that had security and metal detectors on the doors!! The 10th time we went outside for a friend to smoke, the guard was just shuffling us in and out with a smile instead of going over us with that baton thingy (first few times we beeped). What if we'd gone out the 10th time to get a gun? *eyes wide open*

  • That had to be Grady Hospital. It's as crazy as Little 5 Points!

  • Never even heard of Little 5 Points when I lived in Marietta. Guess it was the 2 little kids I had at the time..cramped my style considerably. Bet you can see some real characters there.

  • You really can see some characters down there breezin. I would say that Marietta and Little 5 Points are just about as opposite as you can get! LOL Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • I've never been to that part of Atlanta I don't think next time I'll have to go check it out looks pretty cool.

  • Dane you really should check it out. Just find the interesection of Euclid Ave NE and Mooreland Ave NE on google maps and you'll be in the heart of Little 5 Points. -Jim

  • Lil ole boring me thought the yellow car was the coolest part of the whole video :-P

  • That was a cool car. Was that a Charger? Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Hi Vicky. It really is a great place for people watching. LOL Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Oh I know you didn't! I love bang on - got lots of shirts there for Seth. Do you ever go to the Halloween parade in Oct - that's the best part of 5 points

  • OMG it's the best isn't it Dianna? I was out of town this year and missed it and was just sick about it! I knew that it would have made a fantastic video. Hey next year you should come down and we'll have a Halloween YouTube meetup in Little 5 Points. Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • sounds good to me. I miss this year also unfortunately. And was sick also cause I missed the march of the zombies!

  • Someday when I have a day with nothing to do... I'm coming to Atl and have a tour of the hood! LOL... ~ann

  • Actually you and Molly would both love Little 5 Points! I don't know why I haven't thought to take you two over there. LOL ...next time! -Jim

  • I loved this! We've been to Atlanta twice this week, but didn't see anything near as interesting as this, lol. What area is this in? I always worry about wondering into an unsafe area too, not being familiar with the city, LOL.

  • Alright all you have to do is go to google maps and search for the corner of Mooreland Ave NE and Euclid Ave NE and you'll be in the heart of Little 5 Points. You have to check it out next time. It's as safe a place as anything in Atlanta and very near the Carter Center and two other exclusive neighborhoods. -Jim

  • Thanks! =)

  • You're welcome. Enjoy!

  • code entered: folea

thanks for showing me around atlanta!

  • Hey Lea. Thanks for watching! -Jim

  • I LOVE L5P! I haven't been there in ages. I love Euclid Ave Yacht Club, and Crystal Blue. The whole place just feels GOOD. I love to just sit and people watch. There is usually a saxophone, or some other instrument playing, and a range of people from a 3 pc suit to leather and chains!

  • Hey Lanette. I need to spend more time down there. I've actually never been inside any of the places you mentioned but I've always wanted to! It really is the best place in Atlanta for people watching. LOL Thanks for watching lemonette. -Jim

  • I love it too lemonette! I love the Junkman's daughter!

  • You've been to Atlanta without my permission Susannah? Well you and lemonette simply have to invite me to come along the next time you head to Little 5 Points! LOL -Jim

  • I just got back from Atlanta Jim. I was there and in Athens for Thanksgiving. I was hoping you would invite me over to your fancy house but (sigh) you didn't. I guess you were afraid of what might happen if we were alone together and well, I can understand that.

  • hahaha

    *covering my semi virgin eyes*

  • Hey Mandee. Where have you been? I've missed you! Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Oh I have been here, but sometimes I just don't have anything to comment on in a video, but I am always watching..I love YouTube!!

  • Hi Jim!

    Very cool video!

Looks like a place I would love to visit.

    Hugs

  • Well come on down Nancy and bring Chris with you! We'll have a good old time. LOL Thanks for watching. -Jim

  • Towards the end... all those liquor bottles lined up on a windowsill, then the sign hanging up for the place said COFFEE.. I bet folks feel realllllllll good after drinking 'coffee' at that establishment!!

Great video Jim, Loved the Graffiti (though some of it made me blush)!

    5*****'s!

    *nose nuzzles* Angie

  • Hey Angie. You just might see lots of things to make you blush in Little 5 Points! LOL Thanks for watching. -Jim
