One should learn the Japanese language if they want to live better lives just like Mexicans living in the State who should learn the English language instead of demanding services in Spanish, food stamps, welfare checks because they can't find a job because of uneducated low skills..

Japan has a public debt of 200% of GDP but it is held by japanese people, not foreign speculators. In fact the country is a big international net creditor (unlike USA and most Europe). And the private debt is extremely low. Because they have a sound, innovative economy. The unemployment rate is 4% and crime rates are the lowest among rich countries. So yes, they can afford being and homogeneous society. It works.
