From Vietnam, I think a 16 sucks. The AK is better. I built a race gun from a Norinco grip and slide. Holes were in the right place. I know about the sear,

I know about the grip. I know about the barrel.

I do not need a 45 with sights,,a bald barrel will always work.

Agreed, but if you want to really take advantage of your American freedoms, building yourself an AR-15 from scratch is the way to go.
