I'm not sure about the death count, but I bet the Titanic had more death than the EOI. The thing is, unlike the Titanic which sunk in what? 1-2 hours?, the Empres Of Ireland sunk in ..... 14 minutes, top chrono. Also, the EOI continued to claim the life of the unfortunated people who were trapped in there while exploring it. 14 death I think....
If I'm not mistaken, didn't the EOI have a greater loss of life than the Titanic as well? I think this is one of the saddest of the lost liner stories.
It is possible that another ship could sink the same way, Empress of Ireland is real my father saw it years ago when he went diving. I don't think your allowed to dive down there anymore now that it is a historical site.
Yes, but i read a book about the ship, it said it had gone into shallow water for some time and got it all messed up under the ship, so it managed to get to deeper water, but then sank. This video shows a ship coliding with it.
That was the Andrea Doria that sank due to another ship ramming into it. (Stockholm)
I major in Canadian History, I know this to be true Storstad ripped into The Empress of Ireland. whatever book you read was about another ship this was known as Canada's worst marine disaster.
HAHA no were the fuck did I say that. I AM A CANADIAN HISTORY MAJOR, its my job to know that there was an Empress of Ireland and that the Storstad smashed into it. If I didn't I would've failed my midterm. Why would this be important in Canadian history you might ask? It is because it was Canada's worst marine disaster.
In my first comment I said my father had seen the ship because for some reason I was under the impression you didnt know there was an actual Empress of Ireland so I'm sorry for the confusion I did not say in anyway that he had seen the crash. lol goodbye Storstad wonder were her remains are and yep Empress of Ireland and the Empress of Britain were one of the first Canadian cruise ships bringing immigrants into Canada. They were very sad its to bad it didnt get the same attention as the titanic
man it is so sad!!!:( (cry)

This was a HUNDRED years ago,
The Stockholm rammed into the Andrea Dori at a time your father could have possibly been there for.
I am sorry but it's kind of hard to beleive you.
