  • @tubub- can i get you a lime? i can always get you a lime!

  • This sounds like its ripping off Ghost Busters.

    Who ya gunna call?

  • @BadSwineDOTcom Huey Lewis actually sued Ray Parker Jr, the guy who wrote the song Ghostbusters, because of that. This song came out a full year before the movie.

  • #475

  • This is not Ghost busters u fucking assholes :X

  • ah what would an 80's video be without a helicopter scene and a thumbs up?

    answer- a lot less awesome

  • Who ya gonna call? Oh, wait...

  • Obviously 57 people are Bieber peter puffers!

  • Has some enterprising soul mashed up "Ghostbusters" and this song? I think it would be epic, myself," If you got a dose/of a freaky ghost...I want a new drug/one that won't make me sick...who you gonna call?!" I mean, I think it would be terrific.

  • ooh he kind of ruled out all the possibilities...

  • Ghostbusters is MUCH better!

  • If you were brought here because of your age and nostalgia ??

The kids are just being exposed to this shit..

    The kids are alright..

    They will fit in..

  • Ok, does anyone see the guy standing next to the girl at the concert when he sings in her face, 3 min - 3:07. Looks like he wants to kiss him.

  • Sounds just like ghost busters. I forgot though who stole it from who.

  • Geniaaaallll!!!!

  • So apparently, before settling down with a management position at Initech, Bill Lumbergh played drums in Huey Lewis And The News.

  • at 3:05 it looks like that kid in the stripped shirt was gunna lean in for a kiss

  • Vh1 behind the music brought me here

  • would have added insult to injury if the ghostbusters theme were to be in the related section

  • @kahuna3901 It's right there ->

  • I like how he's going all sorts of things that are clique'd now, but for him, it's not a clique, and it's totally natural, and not on the nose. Driving around in a Compensatin' for something car... but not appearing to compensate for anything. He's got the style people who are trying to prove something have... and he doesn't need to prove nothing. Cept' that Ghostbusters ripped his style off!

  • i actually thought it was called "i want a new TRUCK"

    my life is now ruined

  • I am 16 and I love this song!

  • Do ya like Huey Louis and the News?

Paul: Yeah they're ok i guess..

  • Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

  • @tubub Hey Halvestrom... is that a raincoat?

  • Huey "the tripod" Lewis!

  • Thumbs up if Never Mind the Buzzcocks brought you here.

  • @Steggman literally just now LOL

  • I want a new Duck > I want a new Drug

  • -Who ya gonna call?

    -HUEY LEWIS!

  • this does remind me of the ghostbusters song.

  • GHOSTBUSTERS!!!

  • Need a new drug? Why not Zoidberg?

  • What the fuck was he thinking, this sounds nothing like ray Parker Jr. ghostbusters

  • ghost nappa loves this song

  • i still want a new duck

  • the amazing 80's brought me here. HA!

  • Do you like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too "new wave" for my tastes, but when Sports! came out in 83....I think they really came into their own. Commercailly and artistically!

  • Yeah, sure, Ghostbusters sounds like this, but this sounds like Pop Muzik. Hardly the first time two songs used a similar riff.

  • Vevo really sucks.

  • I Need A New Jag. Same tune! Jaguar Cars!

  • If there is something strange in your neighbourhood ....

  • Thumbs up if The Simpsons brought you here.

  • Up there with J Geils Band's Centrefold and Manfred Mann's version of Blinded By The Light for old style rock in new wave clothing.

  • La donna nuda!

  • There just isn't enough saxaphone in Music today!

  • Huey Lewis was lucky, since the 90´s eveybody is doing samplers, and ripoff sounds.

  • The whole lawsuit is lame. There are countless examples of how one song can sound like another. The Ray Parker song and this song are similar in baseline (somewhat), drum beat but more closely, the reptition of the chord ostinato (A, G, D)..but it's not striking enough to file a copyright infringement IMO.

  • This rocks !

  • I dont understand, how can the Ghostbusters melody sound like this song?? They sound completely different from each other.

  • @2010thekingofkings listen to the bassline, it's pretty much exactly the same.

  • tekst only

  • me too.

  • ghost busters have copy that music

  • Thumbs Up if you think Huey looks good in boxers ;)

  • @SalAzad yep

  • the Simpsons: Midnight Rx

  • Who you gonna call? Huey Lewis... wait... :P

  • @GreenElixir LOLOLOLOLOL

  • 2:48 is that lumberg playing drums?

  • Hmmm... Jupiter 8 @ 0:16 and 0:33 :o)

  • I used to dismember prostitutes and leave them in dumpsters to this song. I miss the good old days

  • @cominroitover80 Typical 80s boy next door behaviour.

  • Snort duck shit it gets you high as fuck, thumbs up if you agree

  • I hear so much that this group is a multi-platinum selling group, but I've yet to ever meet anyone who has a c.d. of this group.

  • @piousone That's probably because you're 15

  • @piousone oh my lord, the tradegy, i have sports, fore, small world, so even though we haven't met I can say that I have these cd's.

  • @piousone cassettes bro.

  • @piousone Could be because all the fans still have their records. Records sound better anyway.

  • @dejavuman22 I agree with you on that. My friend's dad spends up to $1,500.00 on LP's, and the sound quality is noticeable if you keep your record player in good condition.

  • I want a new drug That won't make me dead The one that won't make me act like Beavis and Butt-head I want a new drug That won't make me mad That won't let the hulk outta me Or make me act really bad I want a new drug That helps me get a girl The one that will help me keep her Forever in this world
  • This song came out when I was YOUNG ..........

  • Hahahaha. At 3:00 min. The guy standing next to the girl he's singing to looks pissed off at Huey. But it looks like he's pissed off because he's singing to her, and not him.

  • The all-time junky song... and I love it too!

  • I want a new drug too.

  • @davidadamsawyer yeah! it'll make you talk more than coke and your heart rate doens't even rise half as much... i was up for 5 days it was crazy... thank god for weed i mightve lost my mind... lol i asked for it though. fun stuff, though never again. hahah

  • Ghost busters

  • corporate greed... ads before the music

  • I wonder if Patrick Bateman also likes this song. :-D

  • 54 people are still using an old drug.

  • What came first, this or ghostbusters? Cos somebody owes somebody some royalty cheques.

  • @mollers92 rhis did

  • @mollers92 This came first, and Ray Parker Jr. (Ghostbusters) got sued.

  • @Leverworstje Ahh ok, thanks for clearing that up. Sounds about fair.

  • I wanted to skip the ad until The Who popped up.

  • This sounds nothing like Ghostbusters

  • @GronHatchat Its the beat

  • Let's all be honest.. the song has the same bassline. But the Ghostbusters song has a way better guitar riff. Also the Ghostbusters theme is 100x better as a song. Parker took the bassline and turned it into a classic #1 hit song for a classic movie. Huey Lewis made a generic forgettable song that nobody ever talks about, but with a good bassline.

  • without bangs these 80s broads were sexy

  • Gotta love that Bell Jet ranger

  • The girl on the 10 speed bicycle and leg warmers is the definition of the 80s.

  • Here's the real news. Lets get this vid to one million views by the end of the year Please. Do it for Huey

  • LOVE HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS! THEY'RE AWESOME! i wish i could dress like that!

  • Who Ya Gonna Call?... Oops wrong song. :(

  • Also, at 2:49, the drummer is Bill Lumbergh? (Office Space)

  • I wish I lived during the 80s.... so I could dress like that

  • @841401 It was a great time to be alive.

  • For all the debate about this song and Ghostbusters... they both borrowed pretty heavily from the 1979 hit "Pop Muzik"

  • There's a better Pakistani version of this the link is below

    watch?v=HEDPmzhOy0s

  • trust me. I'm a jew lawyer from new york. ghostbusters wins.

  • @syer5437 Huey Lewis came out with this in 1983...Ghostbusters 1984...how can Ghost win?

  • @rowdymax1 That's right, I can confirm that, I clearly remember "I want a new drug" was already a hit on the radio, and then the shity ghostbusters movie came out a year later, which by the way sucked very much...

  • Who are we gonna call? Huey's Lawyer of course. :P

  • @TheBrazenHell Yeah, that's right, I agree and anyone who states otherwise don't know the fact that "I want a new drug" was on the radio more than a year before "ghostbastards"

  • White women were so damn sexy back in the 80s. I miss the 80s.

  • Gay

  • @CeezayNic you?

  • I had to check it out after hearing about the court case! LOL-even noting the guitar arrangement and two note synth, many songs aside from the far better Ray Parker Jr's Ghostbusters theme sound similar to this. Its pretty basic. Look at todays music-if this sounds 'too similar' then almost everybody is ripping each other off nowadays ;) It sounds like he was upset at not getting asked to do the Ghostbusters theme and little else-Power of Love from BTTFuture is far better than I Want a New Drug!

  • @MrVidification @MrVidification These two have completely different attitude. The horn riff contains maybe one or two identical intervals but different riffs, guitar style sounds inspired but thats not theft. Soundwise thats a staple 80 guitar sound. The least similar bit is the main riff. Just classic rocknroll chording. rhytmic feel and sublicks are different. Only ripoff here is a sense of shared style and that was the style of the decade. Rays is a more distinctive, and original song anyway.

  • @whynottalklikeapirat Ray Parker "Ghostbusters" -----1984 / Huey Lewis and the news "I want a new drug" ------1983 (that's one year before) -----Ray Parker = was Mr. nobody before "Ghostbusters" song, / Huey Lewis and the news had about 5 or 6 songs already on the Billboard's top ten, facts obviously show who was copying who

  • i found the new drug its called WINNING

  • bustin' makes me feel good . .

  • One of the best music videos from the 80s. I still love the part when Huey sticks his face in the ice water. I still need to do that one day just to see what it feels like.

  • @MrBlackFabio Don't recomend to do it after strenuos activity or high ambience temperature

  • @MrBlackFabio Refreshing :)

  • @MrBlackFabio Cold.

  • @MrBlackFabio What's funny is the house I grew up in still has that same exact kitchen sink & fossett from 1969 like you see in this video. Lol the beginning of this vid reminds me so much of the house I grew up in.

  • I myself need a new drug now that mephedrone no longer exists :(

  • he better get his ass over the bay bridge to find a new drug.

  • :48 HI WAYNE!

  • Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?

  • gonna be blasting this during halloween! woo

    lol

  • Yep; TOTP2 too!!

  • the drug you are looking for is pot sir!

  • This was just mentioned on TOTP2. Never heard the song - it is very similar to Ghostbusters - no wonder he sued.

  • @heene yeah TOTP2 is what made me go here :D

  • better than Ghost busters

  • The kid next to the girl Huey sings to is SO FREAKIN' MISERABLE
