battle for LA? i'll deffinetly agree on the state of the art speacial effects n sound effects in that movie. but if u are a real sci fi movie fan, battle for LA has got a real shit story plot and everything else about it thats suppose to make it a sad story! its clear holliwood just threw this in for the appeal of the masses in 3rd 2nd 1st world idiots whu has quitin tarrantino like mentality for fast quick action with the typical cheesy ass dialouge!

I must admit, when I watched this movie, I was itching for the aliens to get their weapons back and start killing humans! Does that make me a bad person?

oh and I want to share my theory that the reason that the aliens looked like shrimps is because they had to do it to themselves to survive the space travel, like what happened to the main character "Wikus van der Merve".

They might look entirely different where they came from. Plausible?

ShadesAtKnight - the anticipation was surely due to the immense viral marketing campaign. it's not even that unique in style of film making... it's just a very good story, entertaining, and well made film. the fact that you would compare it to blockbusters and deem it brave means you just don't get it. I'm glad that some people don't get it. it's not meant for you.

I personally don't see the high anticipation that others are seeing for this. I'm sure it will be a unique style of film making that appeals to some. I respect this film's bravery, esecially going into this summer after the likes of Terminator, X-Men, Transformers, Star Trek and Harry Potter, but the film doesnt appeal to ME, personally.
