  • Best song ever im from British Army and i spent so much time with the Repbulic Korean MArine Corps and this was our song when it came out and still is, and this is the song that will be played on my funeral, its the best song ever and its shame the songer commited sucide, he had talent. Well done for good a collection of songs PILSUNG

  • Do you have a high quality version of the ending photograph?

  • Yes, There is a wallpaper version.

  • Do you possibly have it? :)

  • I did have it once, I'll try to find it.

  • hmm... every korean men who served to army knows this song. It's one of the legendary songs in korea.

  • i think it'll disappear that custom may realated with famine something and cat?? eat cat i never heard before

  • This movie really shocked me,it is a lot better then what I expected. And really sad to.

    I loved it!

  • As someone who actually served in JSA (1998~2001) I can tell you that the real JSA wasn't anything like the place depicted in that movie.

For instance... even if your weapon is unloaded, if it is visible within the demarcation line zone, you will hear someone bitching at you from the radio, telling you to "hide" it. *That happened during one of the repat procedure when I was present.*

  • It's a anthem of young mem who has to join the army in South Korea. For 2 years they learn to be alive in jungle, and become a grown-up from juveniles.

so his song and him are meaning of good-bye to nostalgic but vivid young days. Now he's the icon of losing and a sense of futility, and longing for something to be ungettable.

  • Hey. Tell me your email address and I will gladly send you the song :)

  • Ohhhh I love this movie so much :'( ... its soo sad when their friendship ends .. why did that stupid north korean soilder had to ruend everything :/

  • I still remember the day I left home to join the korean army. this song was being played on the train during all the way to choonchun.

2yrs and 2months, wasted my lost ages - in the mean time, army made me strong in both way of mind and body.

I didn't have to go, but my passinate patriotism from down bottome of my heart made me decide to join the army.

  • Good for you. I reluctantly served too but I remember it to be one of my most memorable moments. It was one of the few time I did anything for someone else other than myself-I did it for the country.

  • Thank you for serving my home country :) Your 2yrs and 2months will not be wasted. Im sure Korea will compensate you in the future.

  • this movie is great.

with this song, it's so touching movie.

  • Oi! guys!! what are you talking about?

This is about movie and music.

    Not about dog meat!!

  • I think you are vegan, or else you are just barbarian who only love their dog firend. Why only dogs can be human friend? Of course, dog is not the same with Human, you idiot.

  • genosuketenzen is Malay everyone. Since he likes to pick on stereotypes, heres a typical one for Malays. Malays, the majority race(muslims by faith) are well known for being sexual perverts. Notably, the majority of incest rape cases are done by Malays. Unfortunately he gives other Malaysians a bad name because not all of them are muslims who think its okay to rape their sisters or daughters.

  • Please note that this is not an attack on malays but rather an example for our bigotted friend on how stereotypes are BS.

  • I'm sorry,But what are you talking about? :S

  • Moslems don't eat pork, Hindus don't eat beef. Are the Westeners eating steak and pork chops babarians? Why are certain animals are more superior than others? Very few Koreans eat dog and if they do, those are not pet dogs but mongrels. By the way, I am a vegetarian.

  • I live in France. The land of BB! Well, they eat horse, snail, lamb, pigeon, foie gras and petc. Do I dislike them? Not at all. I just understand as a different food culture. Yes, as a Korean I've had chances to try dog meat from staff dinners. Actually, it was not bad. That's all. I don't eat dog or cat any more and not all the Korean folks eat those.개고기 먹지 맙시다, 솔직히!

  • u Fuckin bastard france The land of BB! Well, they eat horse, snail, lamb, pigeon, foie gras and petc. Do I dislike them? Not at all. I just understand as a different food culture. • What the hell are you talking about?

Koreans are don't eat cat. yea~some koreans are eat dog meat.

But I've never eaten dogs and cats.

HUMAN FRIEND? What do you think about cows and Pigs? Do you like beef and pork? lol

    They're not Human friends? LOL

  • @bidandubu we never say Koreans are don't eat cat. You might want to study grammar first b4 you comment in American site little bud

  • Excellent KOREAN MOVIE....It is real korean humanism..

  • brigns back memmory of me in korea

  • I love the song and the movie was awesome..I loved it, such a good story

  • his wife didnt kill dumbass! he shot himself near the Han river in Gyungido my hometown...

  • I heard his wife killed him

  • This movie was awesome! I'm not korean or even asian for that matter, but i'm all about asian movies and korean dramas!!

  • so if you like asian movies watch bittersweet life!!

  • yea the movie was great. i loved it but i won't watch it again becos the ending was sad ^ ^. but if you hadn't watched it yet you should. thumb up.

  • Every time when i saw the photograph my eyes my eyes get wet Y-Y. Anyone know the name of the singer ? o_. i love the song and the movie almost make me cry Y-Y

  • His name is Kim Kwang-suk. He committed suicide after his frustration with his career.

  • that's not true. the truth is nobody really knows about his death.

  • Also it's by the bloke who directed Oldboy and Lady Vengeance, which was one of the reasons for me renting it. So, so, so glad I did.

  • Such an amazing movie

  • Fantastic

  • =Not too much people watched this=...

  • Why not? It´s a really great drama and have get many awards, so in Cannes to.

  • I did..

  • great ballad from one of the best korean movies

  • the song is from a legendary korean singer....

  • Yeah, unfortunately he commited suicide in the 1990's.

  • this was a great movie; i don't speak korean, but the song sounds very nostalgic and beautiful

  • To be honest I thought the movie was unrealistic. I mean how can friendship exist, when your there to protect the DMZ of opposing sides...

    This is a bit sad.

  • I think you need to watch the movie again..

  • seriosuly watch it again dumbass

  • I never said it was a bad movie. I enjoyed the plot. After all in the story the soldier became friends, and then through misunderstanding and incidents...some people died and got hurt.

But this is not a true story, right? It's a work of fiction.

  • Yeah it's not a true story(as far as i know), but i think it is a realistic drama. Everything that happened is possible, but unlikely..

  • It's very realistic. It captured the psychology of both sides incredibly well.
