Ignorance should not be tolerated. It is a disease that should be cured with proper education.

Educating oneself is hard. Ignorance is easy. Everyone wants respect. Therefore people too lazy to educate themselves can obtain respect through religious fervour. That is why so many people are religious and why so many people will fight hard to defend their religions. Scientists need to work harder to place findings in the language of the layman so that weak, lazy people, (the majority), do not need the crutch of religion.

draagon66; that's his whole point. We always think that their has to be a purpose, which is why God(s) were created in the first place, when we didn't know what anything was. But what people are learning is that their is no built in purpose to natural selection, and there doesn't need to be. We are evolved enough to make our purpose a choice.

To continue on this point, if we can demonstrate the speed of light which we can: 186,000 miles per second and we can calculate distance by the red light shift and triangulation. Then why would God intentionally mislead people by putting stars and galaxies so far away that we could only conclude that the universe and therefore the world is billions of years old? Wouldn't that be an epic trick with eternal consequences?

And if you don't quite understand fully what I mean, we know how far stars and galaxies are and we know how long the light takes to get here: Demonstrated above. With most light generated by stars taking billions of years to get here where we can see the light. As Creationists would say, God intentionally made it that way; therefore God intentionally is tricking the educated of us to go to hell.

Wow! With human ingenuity, and logic, we can discover things that the Babblical Gawd never thought fit to tell us.

I'm being ironic, of course. If the Babblical Gawd existed then he could have told us these things. He could have smited anyone who thought otherwise until everyone knew that THIS is what Gawd says and you'd better believe it or you die. And, thousands of years later, we'd have found out that Gawd was right.

Instead we find that Gawd was wrong. Game over, religious dudes.
