  • @gatchAttk Because it's easy to spot a potentially dangerous form. The top coaches of any given sport in the world were not necessarily the top athletes.

  • @wesisagisback For weight that heavy his back has adapted. You think construction workers give a shit about "perfect form" when they lift heavy shit? Your muscles work hard regardless. It's the same as that stupid shit where a dude uploads a video of him benching 225 but wobbling a little bit as he goes up and down, and people make fun of his form in the comments...the strength gain is the same, and 90% of you can't even lift 100lbs probably.

    btw with the full clean you can add more weight so this is actually harder since you have to drive it higher to get under it. full clean is just a glorified squat

    I agree. With full squat, the squat part is always the hardest. So yep, it's almost the same as a hard front squat single.

  • Drop that into a full front squat and do a proper clean. And i bet you wont get half that amount of weight.....

  • this is a horrible clean, i dont understand all the videos where at the top of the clean they end up with their feet spread apart in a horribly unstable manner like that. it should end in almost a front squat position. all these power clean videos are filled with clowns, there are so few with good form.

  • I'm a high school football player and as much ego I may have dropping weights just makes you look like a dumb-ass. And we had a receiver last year that cleaned 345 and he walked on to Akron so in your face silly guy.

  • BTW, other than you trying to put on the silly tough guy show you still did pretty good. I'm a sophomore and my max for cleans is 205 so I obviously have room for improvement.

  • well good for you. the weights are rubber coated for a reason. they are made to be dropped.

  • @Spamchild69 you drop the weight. Your doing more work setting it down/ chancing an injury/ and exhausting your muscle further while in a competition. If you would like to train yourself to slowly set it down that's fine in practice, because you might see some personal advantage of handling heavy weights down but the point of this competitive lift is upward explosion. Designed to be dropped.

    Most of all unlike 99% other pr power clean videos, hes not even close to parallel, so its a REAL power clean.

  • really??? i know like 10 people on my football team alone that are cleaning over 300. to be fair i play D2 football and i play for a nationally ranked team, but still. every team i've ever played on, including my high school (and we were small), had at least one person cleaning over 300 in the time that i played for them. shit, i got 275 and i feel like i need to get stronger. most D1 receivers are cleaning 315 at least.

  • Then here's a few things to work on: Set the back better at the start, keep the feet narrower on the start and landing, keep the arms straighter longer, get the elbows up in the receiving position, rack the bar on the shoulders, work on front squats a lot.

  • honestly.. everybody says on every lifting video that someone has bad form..but when your doing your 1 rep max your going to be pushing it.. i dont see the problem with the form..

  • I can't do that much, but the form needs work. That is a jerk off the floor, rounded back, lack of straight armed shrug, spider stance and elbows pointed at the floor rack.

  • Heavy weight but why do all the high school lifting videos have such shitty form - rounded backs, pulling with arms, legs flying apart, supporting the bar on the wrists. Yeah you're young but bad technique is just a serious injury waiting to happen. That o snapppp! at the end could be you rupturing a disc.

  • To be concerned with your general well being, your form needs work. "As long as I get the weight I'm good" is in fact an attitude that will precede some nasty back injuries.

  • @EdoMuslic That's an excuse. Look at competitive weightlifters. Their form is spot on on every lift. And don't say "My form aint that bad". It is. Form>weight. I know this is two years ago and probably irrelevant. But, I want to make sure this plague of shit form gets exposed.

  • To be honest I'm sure you're a good kid who has worked hard but there is very little in that lift for your coach to be proud of except perhaps his recruiting ability.
