  • Blues, especially as presented by Magic Sam, bridges the race gap.

  • @Oldspirit189 You need to seek psychiatric help. We'll be praying for you.

  • @Oldspirit189 Well golly gee Mr. White if The West Side isn't part of Chicago then you must still be in South Africa.

  • @Oldspirit189 Yeah Buddy you're a musician allright. Of the organ. Up&Down all night long. Ask Santa for a dictionary before you put your ballet slipper back in your mouth.

  • @Oldspirit189 Rudeness is what got you where you are. You need to think about that more than you need to think about the junction of Blues and Soul Music.

  • very apt name.....Magic Sam..superb!!!

  • easyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. baby RIP MAGIC SLIM.

  • This is just so sooooothing. One of the songs I always turn to when I'm feeling down. Soon as i hear that 'easy baby' and I'm half way there. The blues sure does hurt so good.

  • el magico sam..que grande easy nena waooo ....muy bueno,,es very good

  • a true legend

  • samくらい歌えてギターが弾けたら、とため息ついて、もう36年が過ぎてしまった。ああ。

  • such an original

  • One of my very favorite blues artists ! And an Aquarian ....

  • incroyable et dire pourquoi je n'ai jamais entendu parler de lui alors que je suis un blues fan de tjrs !

  • his right hand boogie thing is hypnotic, Lookin' Good is a good example. wow. He plays it at hyper speed somewhere on yt, just killer.

  • Only saw him once, he blew most of the other acts offstage at the Albert Hall a few months before his death. Terrific!

  • @hssmrg Man, I'd give a testicle to be able to have seen him 'Live'.... )-(

  • @doktorfeelgood Would that be the left or the right .....?

  • damn this ios still so greAT!

  • just posting here to show some acknowledgement for this fine gentleman, near the anniversary of his death, Rip Mr.Maghett

  • SWEET.....

  • awesome stuff.....

  • What a voice.

  • now thats what i call music

  • that 'Black Magic' Delmark LP is still up in the loft somewhere, but I never bothered to get it out after about 10 years ago. You just become a digest of the music. This was one of the better tracks on the album if memory serves. He never used picks and played with his fingers. Also not a bad singer.

  • easy baby..

  • What a voice,,, man...

It's so true how blues meets soul right here..

  • Magic by name and nature - What a singer

    Peace yaw'll

  • Lost this album in 2007. Where is it?!!!

  • Magic Sam is the exact place where Blues meets Soul. The best of all The West Siders. It sounds as fresh today as the moment they ran tape.

  • @stan2211stan u r completely correct

  • @amiseyts1 I feel this need to correct myself so please read what I have written twice already. Bobby was young when he met Sam but he went to Chicago to meet him before he passed. Google Bobby. All I was trying to do is to turn younger Blues Lovers on to Bobby Radcliff who learned alot from Sam and I know that from Bobby himself. We have been friends since early 70s and I have yet to find anyone come close to Bobby Radcliff's style. Sam was his mentor so let Bobby carry on LIVE. My Best to you

  • One of the best of the blues guitarists which we lost 40 years ago today on 1 Dec 1969. Magic Sam would have been a young 72 years old.

  • May I suggest an old friend of Sam's, Bobby Radcliff. I think you will be BLOWN AWAY

  • how is bobby radcliff an old friend of Magic Sam's? He was probably in grade school, if that, in the mid 60's....not meaning to put the guy or you down, but I think you are stretchin....

  • @nystan1 "old friend" is stretching it for sure. I believe Bobby went to Chitown as a teenager and soaked up all he could from Sam as a disciple. Bobby has said Sam taught him the importance of getting the vocals right. Bobby is highly recommended whatever the accuracy of the story.

  • @Fatshead Sorry for the mistake in how I honored their friendship. It was my mistake as Bobby is a very good friend of mine since the early 70s. I found out the story through Bobby. Forget and forgive my mistake. My point is simply that I hear many Blues players and NOBODY can nail Sam like Bobby Radcliff. While that is not all Bobby can do we are very lucky to have him still playing and just gets better each time. Google Bobby Radcliff for the exacts.I will just listen to him.

  • @pattynVABeach didn't mean to be negative just accurate. I adore Bobby, I've seen him numerous times in NYC and enjoy all the vids here too. His vocals are dead on and guitar work phenomenal. They call him the NY chainsaw. No need for me to Google him.

  • @pattynVABeach more interested in the history of great blues artists like Magic Sam and Earl Hooker and the rest, than hearing about 'friends' and promoting them. I don't go along with the basic philosophy.Simple. Nuff said.

  • @nystan1 I am a personal friend of Bobby's and yes, while he was very young he did go to meet Sam. Maybe I threw everyone off when I used the term "OLD" when I should of said "New" friend. I meant they met and became friends a long time ago. @ Fatshead, again, the same I say to you. I noticed both of you jumped to the negative. I am not about trying to rewrite history. What I am about is how Bobby Radcliff can carry on Sam's style. How lucky for his fans.Google them for the info.

  • easy baby best and the best chevere buen tema

  • amen

  • The details of his "heart attack" death at 32 seem a little mysterious. I wish there was more written about this tragedy.

  • A friend of mine went to see him in the hospital. See if I can get the scoop but my friend is very protective of his old friend Sam.

  • Probably bumped off by one of his rivals as he obviously would have been huge had he lived. His talent and appeal is absolutely stunning. One of the greatest bluesmen that ever lived. These recordings are treasures, thanks!

  • omg this is foking amazing EAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASYY BAAAAABY!! omgg!!!

  • excellent !!!...one of the best ever, never got his due (even today IMHO)...and taken away way too early...Thanks for this one !!!

  • he was the greatest

  • "God" gifted

  • He was indeed magical, great musician, with natural ability.

  • MAN.. you are TOtally right. I knew he was a hot guitar player.. But I think his singing is just inCREDible.. you can hear the influence of Otis Rush on him. Thanks for the post ...great stuff.

  • check out the track "I wanna boogie" if you don't already know it cause that has sensational vocals

  • Him and a few other greats!

  • The best.

  • Gifted a genius savant.

The EXACT MOMENT when Soul and R&B and Funk fused.

There should be a monument and a square named for this Man on The West Side of Chicago.

  • Sweet!!!!! Giver 5 Naa 10 Stars

  • What a great musician

  • Quality. Vocals to die for....

And those fingers of his channeled from the heavens alright!

  • Thanks for spreading the gospel although his legendary status is 39 years and growing by the day.

  • brilliant thanks
