@SuburbanScourging No, this trailer is from last year. Pay attention at Noctis face. You can see the muscles of his face working while he's expressing himself. Other thing that you can realize that his face looks much more angular than the trailers before. I think the producing team of FF versus XIII paid more attention, of course taking Cloud's face as base for Noctis but they made the changes to looks more like Noctis and not a copy-like Cloud.

@sonicpower23 well FF I - X story aren't that bad, and DMC has some great cutscenes, but i agree that Bioware can have some bad dialogue (Carth/Ander's freakin whining) also try having the release schedule from Blizzard! at least 10 years for both SC2 and Diablo 3, and the amount of cut content in Kotor 2 is just terrible.
Those graphics. To see them change so heavily from X to this is amazing, I'm glad to admit I was screaming at the monitor at how great the details are put into it. I just hope the story is just as well worked on as they have put into the graphics.

This seems like its more dark than previous FF games, but ill believe it when I see it. It says its basing itself on reality, which sound really good and exactly the kind of things I love. I love characters that act realistically, meaning not good or evil but have flaws and are more gray. Its much more realistic than an ideal hero or a notorious villain figure we normally see in fantasy games. Im definitely looking forward to this game though, looks really good. Lets hope for the best!

Only thing close to a dark FF is Tactics. Dark Fantasy as Game of Thrones is a dark fantasy. Meaning characters are more grey and human, rather than cliched evil vs good.

This will be the darkest Final Fantasy since 6, most of the others where just depressing. There is a difference between Dark and Depressing. This seems to have a real world vibe to it, Greed, Love, Loyalty, and Pride are going to have huge impacts on people in this game. This will be the pinnacle of RPG's in the past 10 years or I dare say 20 years. I am very much looking forward to this game. I'm wondering if it will live up to games like Kingdom Hearts, Legends Of, or even the Lunar series.
@rodchester3 it may seem that way, but the store is different, Noctis is the last prince of the last city which uses crystals. Stella is from another kingdom and she is trying to steal the crystal. The dad has some plot to spare his son from being a king with a lot of burdens. Take that and combine it with modern politics and weaponary.
Cloud was never emo, people are just calling him that because of AC where he was depressed, and his personality was in fact a breath of fresh air at the time FFVII was released seeing has most MCs from JRPGs at the time was standard Zack Fair personality, dont get me wrong, Zack is great character, especially in CC, but is personality is basically what every RPG MC character was, besides i think some of you dont even know what emo means and just use it to make fun of some characters.
@conected - Cloud may not be emo but I see him as a very naive tool. He basically ditches his childhood crush and love for some chick who strung him along and only used and saw him as his deceased best friend and never truly loving him but simply saw Zack in him. And he still continues to ignore and ditch the one person/woman who stuck with him from the beginning and helped him find himself. In other words Cloud is a dumbass -__- How can you ignore the one person who truly loves you?
@Seliny191 Nope, Tifa may have been his crush, but they never really talked as kids, the only connection they had was the promise, and him saving her has kids and even then they never talked, she also had a hero complex after the promise, also while Aerith saw him as Zack in the beginning she later said they were completely different and she wanted to know the real Cloud better, even in the novels Aerith says she loves Cloud for his real self and not the image of Zack.
@Seliny191 Dont get me wrong, Tifas and Clouds relationship grew during the course of FF7, but so did Clouds and Aeriths, thats why theres that love triangle between them and why Cloud is for the most part paired up with Aerith in other games.

I usually don't like it when uneeded love angles are thrown into a story just to be there. It worked in FF8 and FF10 but in FF7 it was just.... There. It didn't really fit in with the rest if the plot. FF 8 and 10 were love stories so those worked. FF 7 not so much.
@Seliny191 thats fine dude, but like you thats my opinion on the matter, Aerith met Cloud, traveled with him saw the differences between them and still fell for him. Yes, FF7 wasnt exactly a love story, but we knew who liked who, Aerith was pratically the driving force for Cloud in the game.
She even tells Cloud is her beloved, its stated that shes still with him even in death and she helped him more than anyone else like this.

@conected - Besides after playing Crisis Core it makes even less sense for the Aerith and Cloud angle to happen. She was meant to be with Zack from the very beginning. Zack and Aerith makes sense because they met, fell in love from the get go the instant they laid eyes on each other and were a great couple. He sent her hundreds of letters and his final death with him thinking about her before he died was truly tragic and made for a much better story.
@Seliny191 Crisis Core shows us how they met and their crush, they never went more than that, they never started a true boyfriend girlfriend relationship, also, this doesnt change Cloud and Aeriths relationship and the feelings they shared.
Zack is always refered as her first crush, even on her last letter to him she said she was moving on and wasnt going to wait for him.
@Seliny191 Also Final Fantasy VII and Novels both make it clear that Aerith has gotten over her feelings for Zack. In the FFVII 10th Anniversary Ultimania and the FFVII Ultimania Omega says that Aerith realizes that Cloud is a different person from Zack, and grows to love Cloud for himself, so when people say Aerith didn't love Cloud because of Zack is completely wrong, when even official sources say she loved the real Cloud.

Those graphics. To see them change so heavily from X to this is amazing, I'm glad to admit I was screaming at the monitor at how great the details are put into it. I just hope the story is just as well worked on as they have put into the graphics.

This seems like its more dark than previous FF games, but ill believe it when I see it. It says its basing itself on reality, which sound really good and exactly the kind of things I love. I love characters that act realistically, meaning not good or evil but have flaws and are more gray. Its much more realistic than an ideal hero or a notorious villain figure we normally see in fantasy games. Im definitely looking forward to this game though, looks really good. Lets hope for the best!

Only thing close to a dark FF is Tactics. Dark Fantasy as Game of Thrones is a dark fantasy. Meaning characters are more grey and human, rather than cliched evil vs good.
Type-o is just as vanilla as the other FF games, actually more shonen than most of the FF games. It is by no shape of fashion a dark fantasy game.

This will be the darkest Final Fantasy since 6, most of the others where just depressing. There is a difference between Dark and Depressing. This seems to have a real world vibe to it, Greed, Love, Loyalty, and Pride are going to have huge impacts on people in this game. This will be the pinnacle of RPG's in the past 10 years or I dare say 20 years. I am very much looking forward to this game. I'm wondering if it will live up to games like Kingdom Hearts, Legends Of, or even the Lunar series.

@rodchester3 it may seem that way, but the store is different, Noctis is the last prince of the last city which uses crystals. Stella is from another kingdom and she is trying to steal the crystal. The dad has some plot to spare his son from being a king with a lot of burdens. Take that and combine it with modern politics and weaponary.

Cloud was never emo, people are just calling him that because of AC where he was depressed, and his personality was in fact a breath of fresh air at the time FFVII was released seeing has most MCs from JRPGs at the time was standard Zack Fair personality, dont get me wrong, Zack is great character, especially in CC, but is personality is basically what every RPG MC character was, besides i think some of you dont even know what emo means and just use it to make fun of some characters.

@conected - Cloud may not be emo but I see him as a very naive tool. He basically ditches his childhood crush and love for some chick who strung him along and only used and saw him as his deceased best friend and never truly loving him but simply saw Zack in him. And he still continues to ignore and ditch the one person/woman who stuck with him from the beginning and helped him find himself. In other words Cloud is a dumbass -__- How can you ignore the one person who truly loves you?

@Seliny191 Nope, Tifa may have been his crush, but they never really talked as kids, the only connection they had was the promise, and him saving her has kids and even then they never talked, she also had a hero complex after the promise, also while Aerith saw him as Zack in the beginning she later said they were completely different and she wanted to know the real Cloud better, even in the novels Aerith says she loves Cloud for his real self and not the image of Zack.

@Seliny191 Dont get me wrong, Tifas and Clouds relationship grew during the course of FF7, but so did Clouds and Aeriths, thats why theres that love triangle between them and why Cloud is for the most part paired up with Aerith in other games.

@conected - *shrugs* Sorry I but my opinion can't be changed. I've always thought the love triangle thing in FF7 was completely stupid and unneccessary. I usually don't like it when uneeded love angles are thrown into a story just to be there. It worked in FF8 and FF10 but in FF7 it was just.... There. It didn't really fit in with the rest if the plot. FF 8 and 10 were love stories so those worked. FF 7 not so much.

@Seliny191 thats fine dude, but like you thats my opinion on the matter, Aerith met Cloud, traveled with him saw the differences between them and still fell for him. Yes, FF7 wasnt exactly a love story, but we knew who liked who, Aerith was pratically the driving force for Cloud in the game.
She even tells Cloud is her beloved, its stated that shes still with him even in death and she helped him more than anyone else like this.

@conected - Besides after playing Crisis Core it makes even less sense for the Aerith and Cloud angle to happen. She was meant to be with Zack from the very beginning. Zack and Aerith makes sense because they met, fell in love from the get go the instant they laid eyes on each other and were a great couple. He sent her hundreds of letters and his final death with him thinking about her before he died was truly tragic and made for a much better story.

@Seliny191 Crisis Core shows us how they met and their crush, they never went more than that, they never started a true boyfriend girlfriend relationship, also, this doesnt change Cloud and Aeriths relationship and the feelings they shared.
Zack is always refered as her first crush, even on her last letter to him she said she was moving on and wasnt going to wait for him.

@Seliny191 Also Final Fantasy VII and Novels both make it clear that Aerith has gotten over her feelings for Zack. In the FFVII 10th Anniversary Ultimania and the FFVII Ultimania Omega says that Aerith realizes that Cloud is a different person from Zack, and grows to love Cloud for himself, so when people say Aerith didn't love Cloud because of Zack is completely wrong, when even official sources say she loved the real Cloud.

1: Look at the power that the king is using @ 6:02 and the power that the prince uses in /watch?v=uo0YDtShq18 .
2: In the same video look at the table, the king appears to be much younger than the one that is showed on this video. This time you can see him.
3: Either the king is Noctis's father and him inherited his father's power, or they're the same person.
4: If you look again @ 6:02, the other man looks a lot with the Ignis that appears @ 6:21
