Great fighter! I remember he nearly beat a Prime Danny WIlliams at this time, unfortunantely Vitali Klitschko was in his prime and destroyed Danny Williams right away Tyson got beat by Danny WIllaims! I was glad that Tyson never fought Klitschko, 2 of my favourite fighters since Muhammad Ali! I still believe a prime Tyson would able to hang in there with a Klitschko!
@TheRealVotes hang in there he'd destroy him in 3 rounds the best boxer ever at getting inside on reach fighters no question in his prime he'd outclass klitschko
@1979bungy I know he did, but after his prison stint and the ban after the bite incident, he just lacked any speed altogether and seemed burned out after 1 round. sad, he was great
Ask any boxing expert, mike tyson was NOT the greatest boxer of all time, yes he maybe the most exciting like naseem hamed and muhammed ali, but in his prime he never fought anyone special, when he fought anyone who never got psyched out and stood up to him like buster, holyfield, lewis and williams he was in trouble, he crumbled. Yes he was very good but sugar ray leonard was the best, then ali.
tyson was as good as anyone in his prime.undisputed champion, never ducked anyone, unlike leonard,(the judges favourite)why wouldnt he fight aaron pryor?
you crazy he was a diff fighter after cus died before that they wouldn have stood a chance with him can you see danny williams beating a prime tyson hollyfeild or lewis dont think so ali would have been the only one with a chance of living with him even tyson said ali was the greatest ever
circumstance made tyson a great fighter - all the stuff leading up to the 1st fight made him what he was - meeting cus d'amato at the right time was important otherwise he would have had no direction
i doubt there will ever be a boxer like tyson again - shame!
@abujameel2010 yeah all the way through his career. ali was nothing without freddie roach.............. you havnt got a clue about boxing if you ask such a stupid question.
i believe if tyson had a coach like Roach to keep him on track he would have been the best ever. just my opinion, cus would have kept him on the right track aswell if he could have been there all the way through.
Id LOVE to see Haye fight Tyson when Tyson was 21-22, ohhhhh my days there would be a death
If you was a boxer you would know that when he was in his prime with kevin rooney as his trainer their will never be a better fighter. He studied his sport so well and was full of fast twitch fibres and so much power. Im english so i should be bigging up our fighters but tyson is my god i've learned so much from his fighting skills.
I believe you're saying Mike Tyson had great fighting attributes, but didnt have good boxing skills? A lot of skills that are in boxing, require speed. That is, if you were to weave a punch, you'd have to be fast in some sense. You look at all the greats, they all had speed, Mike Tyson was no exception. But speed deteriorates with everyone as they grow older. For example, an old man with lots of skills, but is very slow. It just doesn't work. Clearly, Mike Tyson was a good boxer.
@tull06 what are you on about good he was awesome ricky hatton was good naz was good this dude was a machine nothing overrated about him every boxer has a style that they dont move much away from you never saw ali gloves under his chin closing the ring down did you, never saw smoking joe danching on his toes working the jab you clearly know nothing of the sport m8
@RZADEA no only his nut huggers think that he never beat any1 theres the facts even kevin rooney said he had the potential to be great he never got there though
@fadethetrade Human muscle fibres are comprised of two types of fibres: fast-twitch and slow-twitch. This is mainly determined from your genes and race - for instance, most East Africans like Ethiopians or Sudanians or Kenyans are outstanding long distance runners. However, the Africans from the West Coast, like Nigeria or Senegal, are physically a lot bigger, heavier, more muscular, and darker than East Africans and they happen to excel in sports that require explosive power like sprint/boxing
@fadethetrade When was the last ime you saw a world heavyweight boxing champion from Kenya?.. you see the point?
Now, saying that there are ways you can inprove your fast-twicth and slow-twitch fibers - look on the internet and you will see some god material on how to do that.
@03041976001 fast twitch MUSCLE fibers ,you meant. Now I understand and it's a very shrewd way to describe tysons ,as I would primitavely say, herky jerky movement and explosive reactions and head twithces to slip the punches.I like your definition better!Maybe his demise was because of his lack of fast twitch muscle fibres reacting as they did when he was trained correctly in his early 20's
@fadethetrade Well yes, you're right, he does have explosive movements - exactly. Did you know Tyson was 185lbs when he was 12!!
And yes, he did train correctly when he was in his late teens, early twenties, when he was getting coached by Kevin Rooney. As soon as he fired Rooney he apparently wasn't the same after that.
@03041976001 SOmetimes I muse he thought of thinkng that tysons muscle fibres might have been so reactive that no one could have beaten him with such a reflex back then.I believe this is how he won 9 defenses of his title before his 22nd birthday.
@03041976001 It's incredible how some tyson bashing schmucks dismiss his entire title era because of his lack of maintaining his mental and physical regimine after 1988.They believe it was a fraud that he won the title and defended it 9 times with brute skill!!or they all simply dismiss every fighter he fought back then as subpar scared shittlesss fighters. ASSHOLES on youtube.
@fadethetrade Between 85-88 Tyson was truly phenomenal!! Lightning hand speed. Tyson's favourite fighters were usually lightweights and welterweights, he loved the sheer hand speed, and he had it too, no question.
Just imagine how good he could have been if he had reached his full potential.
@03041976001 in america there are kids that r born 185lbs... thanks to make donalds why so special 185 lbs when he was 12... care.. fat ass baby he was there
If he knew shit you would know tson fought aload of garbage in his prime that why he is never offically ranked that high only a load of kids love video's of him knocking out glass-jawed bums.
@403766 oh shit man sorry bro, i was getting you mixed up with that twat '@RZADEA'on his comment about tyson giving up his wbc so he didnt have to fight him! what a complete twat and the other shit he wrote, sorry mate i thought you wrote that junk, in hi prime tyson would of smashed lewis and tyson actually knock lewis out of the ring when they were young sparring and lewis even admitted after that he said i hope i never have to fight him for real!
@403766 what the fuck?????? where the hell are you getting this bull shit info from? firstly tyson did NOT give up his belt to lewis because he was frightened to fight lewis...tyson fought anybody during his career and when they sparred as youngsters tyson knocked lewis out the ring and after lewis even admitted he hoped he never had to fight tyson for real and lewis opponents were better than tysons?????????? you fucking dillutional cunt! tyson beat the best heavyweights of his era...
1)Yep tyson did give up his belt though to fight bruce seldon andlewis sued his management for $4mill
2)He did not knock him out, if you listen he did nail lewis lewis backed up so much he fell straight out of the ring and was asked if he wanted to contiue, lewis said yes and dominated the next three rounds until tyson quit, showin that first round was due to lewis thinkin it was just some midget
3) Lewis just said i hope i dnt meet that gy in the future? Who would want to?
and differnet eras can be harder than others, lewis beat most of tysons best in a much better fashion(although fair enough a few years later) like tucker, ruddock bruno biggs etc, as well as riddick bowe for olympic gold, tommy morrison, ray mercer, shannon briggs, andrew golata, henry akinwade, zeljiko mavrovic, evander holyfeild, botha, grant, david tua, vitali klitschko etc.
@403766 fair comment but in there primes tyson beats lewis.....thats my opinion and your intitled to yours!....lewis never had ferosity, some times he held back so much when his team were screaming at him for a knock out! he was way to causious for a prime mike tyson....tyson would have lewis beat by fear before they even stepped in the ring!
Not neccessarily, lewis always said and though he was the best, he fought tua winning 10 of 12 rounds onyl holding back to figure im out, and shannon briggs is very scary (holds the record for round 1 KO'es of any champion) but lewis smiled when he hit him and went on to KO him in 5 after holding back the first 2 rounds.
Caution can be a good thing he holds and leans at hestart wen guys get inside to tire them out.
No-one knows for sure though im sure it wud be a great fight
@403766 WTH!! You really are a fuckn idiot. In the vid. of Tyson vs Lewis you were talking about how Lewis would beat Tyson and now on this vid. your saying Tyson would beat Lewis. I knew you were a DUMBASS from the start and you have NO knowledge of boxing whatsoever. If your going to have an opinion on something stick to it if not then STFU and don't reply to my comment in the first place you DUMB CLOWN!!
not true he was one of the most exciting heavyweights in the modern history of the heavyweight but he beat no decent boxers so what you say is pure speculation. The best fighter he beat in his prime was Spix who was crap.
People seem to overate tyson these days, tyson is a great fighter but he did have flaws and that was simply the style he had so if he came up against someone like george foreman he would get destroyed or sonny liston and ali would beat him on cuts or tko.
@MultiGreat1 I don't think Ali would have beaten Tyson, Frazier who has a similarish kind of style to tyson, with the bobbing and weaving with great hooks, it gave Ali fits. I just feel a prime Tyson would be to ferocious and quick for him.
ali would have only got an unananimous decision at best and tyson still would have had the punchers chance.....but prime tyson vs prime ali..i would say ali by decision... s george would have stopped him as they had same style, two mountains running into each other stronger bigger one wins...
@MultiGreat1 silly talk fella tyson loved fighting similar styles to himself cause there was no one better at inside work his hand speed and body movement were amazing much faster than foreman and liston he would have ended it in 5 i recon. he struggles against cagey point scorers hasent got the mentallity to deal with it look at the lewis and hollyfeild fight mind you he was on the way out big time by then dif story if he was 19 20
If Tyson hadn't got caught up in those rape charges and went to prison he would have been the greatest fighter to ever step in the ring...such a shame

@TheRealVotes hang in there he'd destroy him in 3 rounds the best boxer ever at getting inside on reach fighters no question in his prime he'd outclass klitschko

if tyson had met roach before lewis, perhaps he would have had luck with a slip knockout punch,

@ask120 the man was a legend fastest hands in the weight and i do mean fastest even against ali look at footage of him at 18 its awesome
1979bungy 1 year ago
@1979bungy I know he did, but after his prison stint and the ban after the bite incident, he just lacked any speed altogether and seemed burned out after 1 round. sad, he was great
ask120 1 year ago
@1979bungy no not faster than ali, look at Ali in 66, the cam didnt pick up half his punches.

@RyderN7 thats old equipment back in 66. who knows? tyson had great timing, but ali's ability to take punishment was probably second to none...

Yes he was very good but sugar ray leonard was the best, then ali.
immyovuk 1 year ago
@immyovuk
well im a boxing expert so ask me.
tyson was as good as anyone in his prime.undisputed champion, never ducked anyone, unlike leonard,(the judges favourite)why wouldnt he fight aaron pryor?

circumstance made tyson a great fighter - all the stuff leading up to the 1st fight made him what he was - meeting cus d'amato at the right time was important otherwise he would have had no direction

Mate he wasn't a good boxer, he was a great fighter.
tull06 1 year ago
@tull06,
I believe you're saying Mike Tyson had great fighting attributes, but didnt have good boxing skills? A lot of skills that are in boxing, require speed. That is, if you were to weave a punch, you'd have to be fast in some sense. You look at all the greats, they all had speed, Mike Tyson was no exception. But speed deteriorates with everyone as they grow older. For example, an old man with lots of skills, but is very slow. It just doesn't work. Clearly, Mike Tyson was a good boxer.
superheaton 1 year ago 2
@superheaton Okay I could even go as far as saying he was a good boxer but generally a very overated one and very 1 dimensional.
tull06 1 year ago
@tull06 what are you on about good he was awesome ricky hatton was good naz was good this dude was a machine nothing overrated about him every boxer has a style that they dont move much away from you never saw ali gloves under his chin closing the ring down did you, never saw smoking joe danching on his toes working the jab you clearly know nothing of the sport m8

@1979bungy You clearly have your head so far up Tysons arse you wont take any criticism of him. And I have forgotten more about boxing than you know.
tull06 1 year ago
@RZADEA no only his nut huggers think that he never beat any1 theres the facts even kevin rooney said he had the potential to be great he never got there though
cainey66 1 year ago
@RZADEA what do you mean by fast twitch fibres??
fadethetrade 1 year ago
@fadethetrade Human muscle fibres are comprised of two types of fibres: fast-twitch and slow-twitch. This is mainly determined from your genes and race - for instance, most East Africans like Ethiopians or Sudanians or Kenyans are outstanding long distance runners. However, the Africans from the West Coast, like Nigeria or Senegal, are physically a lot bigger, heavier, more muscular, and darker than East Africans and they happen to excel in sports that require explosive power like sprint/boxing
03041976001 1 year ago
@fadethetrade When was the last ime you saw a world heavyweight boxing champion from Kenya?.. you see the point?
Now, saying that there are ways you can inprove your fast-twicth and slow-twitch fibers - look on the internet and you will see some god material on how to do that.
03041976001 1 year ago
@03041976001 fast twitch MUSCLE fibers ,you meant. Now I understand and it's a very shrewd way to describe tysons ,as I would primitavely say, herky jerky movement and explosive reactions and head twithces to slip the punches.I like your definition better!Maybe his demise was because of his lack of fast twitch muscle fibres reacting as they did when he was trained correctly in his early 20's
fadethetrade 1 year ago
@fadethetrade Well yes, you're right, he does have explosive movements - exactly. Did you know Tyson was 185lbs when he was 12!!
And yes, he did train correctly when he was in his late teens, early twenties, when he was getting coached by Kevin Rooney. As soon as he fired Rooney he apparently wasn't the same after that.
03041976001 1 year ago
@03041976001 SOmetimes I muse he thought of thinkng that tysons muscle fibres might have been so reactive that no one could have beaten him with such a reflex back then.I believe this is how he won 9 defenses of his title before his 22nd birthday.
fadethetrade 1 year ago
@03041976001 It's incredible how some tyson bashing schmucks dismiss his entire title era because of his lack of maintaining his mental and physical regimine after 1988.They believe it was a fraud that he won the title and defended it 9 times with brute skill!!or they all simply dismiss every fighter he fought back then as subpar scared shittlesss fighters. ASSHOLES on youtube.
fadethetrade 1 year ago
@03041976001 The true frauds are the schmucks on youtube dismissing tysons great ability from 85-88.
fadethetrade 1 year ago
@fadethetrade Between 85-88 Tyson was truly phenomenal!! Lightning hand speed. Tyson's favourite fighters were usually lightweights and welterweights, he loved the sheer hand speed, and he had it too, no question.
Just imagine how good he could have been if he had reached his full potential.

@RZADEA 1)Lewis wins 3 outta 4 rounds sparring with tyson until tyson quit in the 80's! about 10 years close to tysons prime than lewis's
2) 1996 Tyson gave up his WBC belt to lewis so he didnt have to fight him,
and lewis sued his management for $4million cuz lewis was a mandatory defence, holyfield said"he took me as an easier fight"
3)They finally meet and lewis whipps him with an injured hand
4)Lewis's opponents were far better than tysons offically

@403766 oh shit man sorry bro, i was getting you mixed up with that twat '@RZADEA'on his comment about tyson giving up his wbc so he didnt have to fight him! what a complete twat and the other shit he wrote, sorry mate i thought you wrote that junk, in hi prime tyson would of smashed lewis and tyson actually knock lewis out of the ring when they were young sparring and lewis even admitted after that he said i hope i never have to fight him for real!
jrgniuwer 1 year ago
@403766 what the fuck?????? where the hell are you getting this bull shit info from? firstly tyson did NOT give up his belt to lewis because he was frightened to fight lewis...tyson fought anybody during his career and when they sparred as youngsters tyson knocked lewis out the ring and after lewis even admitted he hoped he never had to fight tyson for real and lewis opponents were better than tysons?????????? you fucking dillutional cunt! tyson beat the best heavyweights of his era...
jrgniuwer 1 year ago
@403766 thats why tyson unified the division at 20 years old.....you are a twat mate seriously buy some boxing books and learn the history!!!!!!!
jrgniuwer 1 year ago
@jrgniuwer
403766 1 year ago
@403766
and differnet eras can be harder than others, lewis beat most of tysons best in a much better fashion(although fair enough a few years later) like tucker, ruddock bruno biggs etc, as well as riddick bowe for olympic gold, tommy morrison, ray mercer, shannon briggs, andrew golata, henry akinwade, zeljiko mavrovic, evander holyfeild, botha, grant, david tua, vitali klitschko etc.
And it was 21, so learn your history.
403766 1 year ago
@403766 Tyson was 20 when he beat Berbick for the WBC title.
Easyandy100 8 months ago
@403766 fair comment but in there primes tyson beats lewis.....thats my opinion and your intitled to yours!....lewis never had ferosity, some times he held back so much when his team were screaming at him for a knock out! he was way to causious for a prime mike tyson....tyson would have lewis beat by fear before they even stepped in the ring!
jrgniuwer 1 year ago
@jrgniuwer
403766 1 year ago
@403766 WTH!! You really are a fuckn idiot. In the vid. of Tyson vs Lewis you were talking about how Lewis would beat Tyson and now on this vid. your saying Tyson would beat Lewis. I knew you were a DUMBASS from the start and you have NO knowledge of boxing whatsoever. If your going to have an opinion on something stick to it if not then STFU and don't reply to my comment in the first place you DUMB CLOWN!!
Wakedadummyup 11 months ago
not true he was one of the most exciting heavyweights in the modern history of the heavyweight but he beat no decent boxers so what you say is pure speculation. The best fighter he beat in his prime was Spix who was crap.
springbox1982 1 year ago
People seem to overate tyson these days, tyson is a great fighter but he did have flaws and that was simply the style he had so if he came up against someone like george foreman he would get destroyed or sonny liston and ali would beat him on cuts or tko.
MultiGreat1 1 year ago
@MultiGreat1 I don't think Ali would have beaten Tyson, Frazier who has a similarish kind of style to tyson, with the bobbing and weaving with great hooks, it gave Ali fits. I just feel a prime Tyson would be to ferocious and quick for him.
Iamdapoop 1 year ago 2
ali would have only got an unananimous decision at best and tyson still would have had the punchers chance.....but prime tyson vs prime ali..i would say ali by decision... s george would have stopped him as they had same style, two mountains running into each other stronger bigger one wins...
JABJABRIGHTCROSS 1 year ago
@MultiGreat1 silly talk fella tyson loved fighting similar styles to himself cause there was no one better at inside work his hand speed and body movement were amazing much faster than foreman and liston he would have ended it in 5 i recon. he struggles against cagey point scorers hasent got the mentallity to deal with it look at the lewis and hollyfeild fight mind you he was on the way out big time by then dif story if he was 19 20
