@dragonbreathstinks When he's trying to start the car before he hits his head on the wheel, he's only hitting the gas. But when it does start his foot is magically on the clutch.
I never understood, how did he get the car to start? I thought it was out of gas, right? So that's where they came up with the lightning idea because it couldn't get up to 88mph but I thought it couldn't even drive in the first place...
@MyUknown123 ... Einstein didn't came back with the same amount of plutonium , we can see Marty & Doc giving plutonium to the DeLorean just after Doc explained that he had to make a deal with lybians terrorists ...
@MyUknown123 because with einstein the time travel was only 1 minute into the furure, that means after one minute when the time travel started the car would come back, but with marty he went to the past, not the future so he couldnt come back.
@14lanicup ok when einstien was sent to the future with one load of plutonium and it came back to the present when the car was in ice who come it didnt do the same thing with marty
@sideburn3000 I was thinking about that, my thought was because he only went back like a minute it shouldn't have taken up that much plutonium, but then again, it could have been a mistake lol.
@MyUknown123 Because the plutonium was una a case in the van, not in the car. Remember that when einstein came back, they needed to recharge the plutonium (so marty ended using the radiatiun suit).
@MyUknown123 Maybe it has to do with the added weight in the car. I'm sure Marty weighs more than Einstein, so maybe transporting that little extra weight had an adverse impact on the plutonium usage. Elements like that are pretty dang unstable, after all.
@MyUknown123 because, Einstein didn't came back from the past, Einstein was sent in the future.. one minute in the future to be exact, so he didn't need to come back, so in other words, they used the plutonium to send him in one way trip.. and same thing with Marty.
The amount of plutonium used probably depends on the amount of time traversed. Einstein was only sent forward in time one minute. One minute is only 1 / 15,768,000th of the amount of time as 30 years! So some of the plutonium was used that time, just very little of it.
@MyUknown123 It didn't. Doc puts a full canister in right before he is about to leave. Did everyone here watch the same movie as me or am I misunderstanding the question? I have seen the movie over 100 times.
@MyUknown123 When doc Brown tested time machine with his dog, he don't need extra plutonioum charge because delorean travel just 1 minute to the future, so they only need to wait this minute and the time machine reach them in to the future (this minute on the future) thats the reason of 1 minute deleay on Einstein's chronometer and doc's one.
@MyUknown123 Whenever the DeLorean time travels, it uses up ALL of the plutonium, so when Marty went back to 1955 accidentally, the flux capacitor used up all of the plutonium, and there were no extra pellets of plutonium, thus, Marty was stuck in 1955. When Einstein came back, Doc put some new plutonium, but it was used up when Marty went back to 1955, to sum it all up. Did that make it any easier for you to understand?
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! (Looks up at ceiling.)
2:01 i love cristoper lloyds reaction the the time macine exploding intio the future.
it still just bone chilling, when he realizes that his time macine works. and his calulations where correct. its just awsome. that is one of the sceens that changed the world.
1:25... I never understood what's going on here. What is the purpose of attaching a metal loop around the arms of the clock? If he's going to slide down that, doesn't the other end have to be connected to something on the ground? Why doesn't he just slide down the electrical wire?
@ 0:32 the cable doesn't fit because the tree has landed on top of the cable. Yet somehow when Doc takes the cable loops it and hangs it on the clock tower's hand @ 1:26 and with the loop over the hand is able to connect the cable up @ 1:55
who does not like this?!?! 5 people are totally cuckoo.b/c they do not like this scene! The clock tower explosion is tied with the best explosion in movie history for 1st place.
I can so answer this one, ok the car went into the future with a full powered charge of plutonium, when they caught back up and Einstein poped in, there was only a half charge left. 1 stick of plutonium=2 trips through time. the second half would be for a return trip. since there was only half a charge in the machine Marty could only go through time once on that half charge. and that is why he was stuck.
Nothing feels like Marty shifting gears. The sound, the feel, the way he manhandles the Dalorian as only a sincere pretense-free teen can...
God this is fantastic.

Marty wasn't holding down the clutch to start the car. You have to hold down the clutch pedal to start a manual car.
