He's actually not a draft bust. Read him up on Wikipedia. The Pistons who drafted him played him for only 4.7 MPG in his rookie season! When he was traded to Orlando in 2006,He was given over 30 minutes of playing time in some games and he had 13points 7rebounds 2.4 blocks, and over 50% shooting.
He's 7ft tall,he plays good defense, has good footwork,great passing and can shoot the ball.He's definitely not a draft bust, just one of those great players who didn't get the chance to play.

he's still in the league ya know. T-wolves run a triangle where the center gets the ball more and it utilizes his passing skills. A lot of his skills might be focused on in the triangle and who knows? Maybe he won't appear to be such a big bust. Although how can a guy be called a bust when the coach seems to not want to play him no matter what?

Piston Fans must hate this guy. The greatest draft ever and they manage to pick the only bum in the top 5. Wade, Bosh or Melo couldve definitely meant 1 more title atleast. Thats what u get for picking those foriegn pussies

with that year the detroit was intact with their line-up they don't need to rebuild a team to a star like anthony, wade, or bosh... and they need a center that time... he is good defender so why not 2 pick... problem with detroit is they destroy a star player... ask iverson

They had Tayshawn Prince at SF and Richard Hamilton at SG. He had potential but since Pistons were already a good team Darko didn't get much playing time which led to him never really developing. If you've seen him on the Wolves he is really playing well as of late.

@ltvl10 I'm a huge pistons fan and I forgot he even existed because he sucked so bad on detroit. It's not all his fault though. He didn't get shit for playing time. I'm still pissed at Larry Brown for leaving the team after winning the championship. We had at least two more left in us with that squad.

@ltvl10 i know this is a 9 month old post but...darko never really had the chance to play really...he was benched most of his career while he was a pisiton..he was drafted to a championship team at the time and they wasnt about to mess that up

Darko's never been in a decent situation in the NBA except in Orlando, where he did okay but they simply thought he didn't fit well alongside Dwight Howard. He'll never live up to the names behind him from that draft, but he's only 24 and he still has a versatile game and a chance.

i watched him yesterday with minesota,he fits in great,and played well also,very eficcient had +35,i hope he will stay in the nba,he is very talented,i know cause im serbian and i watched him play for serbia,he is very dominant in europe,but he didnt get a chance in the nba,but still detroit picking him before wade,melo and bosh....lol

it's sad though. I remember when the pistons drafted him. They showed his highlights. Windmill dunks and hitting threes. I was like finally, a dirk like player. Then we traded for rasheed and he sat the bench. After we traded him to orlando he got his career high in his first game. 16pts if i rememeber
