  • sei stata il sogno dei nostri sogni

  • reminds me of Norma. she died two years ago. always wondered wht would have happened had we met when we were younger.

  • yes I will follow him...even tough (he-she-it ) has many interpretations...we are all brothers/sisters...

  • continue folling him my brother from iraq

  • So this hit is originally french.

    How about Starman?

  • We'll write tonights show off as an errant round.

(I still would really like a Mastercard)

I don't know.... check the guy for vital signs...

    I'm no doctor

  • OMFG.... I think that hit Obama in the head...

  • Hey, Mastercard (no pun intended, honest) can I have a Mastercard? I totally don't qualify for one.

  • For Doomsday , there's Ebola. For everything else, there's Mastercard.

  • not heard this version before but it is lovely thanks for sharing XX

  • Helloooo! This is NOT "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from "Jesus Christ Superstar! There isn't anything religious about this song; it's just a cute 60's love song.

  • Love the drums in this version

  • not petula clark's version..nope..

  • @Nzingha551 Yes, this is Petula Clark's version of the song.

  • ecsellente song from Petula C. Pozdrav iz CROACIA svim Hrvatima!

  • Who is the original composer and singer of this classic song?

    Petula?

    What year?

  • @Jyrki1964 Franck Pourcel and Paul Mariat were the song's composers. The original recorded version was an instrumental version by Pourcel. The first charting recording with lyrics was the French language "Chariot" recorded by Petula Clark in '62 (lyrics by Jacques Plante), a #1 hit in France. Foreign language versions by Clark also charted in Germany and Italy. In the US, the song is associated exclusively with Peggy March (adapted with English lyrics by Arthur Altman and Norman Gimbel).

  • This recording just barely sounds like Clark's original hit. I know, I grew up on the original as it was played all day long on the radio. Too bad we cannot get the real thing.

  • @ses6239 This is Petula Clark's recording from 1963, which was released as a single in the UK. Perhaps you're remembering Peggy March's version of the song, which was a massive hit in the US?

  • millhouse is now a meme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is truly beautiful. Nice nice nice lyrics. *sigh* But why does people have to talk bad about Jesus? He truly is a great man... i mean if you would just get to know Him. He is altogether lovely. How could you dislike someone when you havent tried them for yourselves?

  • Petula rules!

  • I love her x

  • How I love Petula... Born in 1932 (same year as Liz Taylor, Debbie Reynolds, & Patsy Cline), she's still going strong vocally & looks-wise as she nears her 80th birthday! :)

  • Me love Petula Clark, but me hate jesus.

  • @gentlestormtoo You bastard, why would you hate a dead man or rather a fictional character who tended to be a kind one?

  • @Nancy99999 First off you are right, I shouldn't hate a fictional character. A complete waste of time, from now on I only hate things that exist. Secondly, how did you know I was a bastard? I don't remember posting that fact on youtube. Since, you already know I will tell others my story. My dad knocked up my mom in an ally, as you could see I later became a prodigy of a hanger that missed. I love you Petula Clark, you too Jesus. I hate George Bush know: I know he is real and evil.

  • @gentlestormtoo These days "bastard" is used as an insult and no one really cares about its actual meaning. You can not be one, but if you act like one you are one.

I apologize, but I really can't stand it when Atheists swear at Jesus just to piss off Christians. It's a cold thing to do. Swear at the Christian, not the founder. It's like someone swearing at my mother just because I insulted her. It makes more problems. Not only was he fictional, he was a kind man too. So it's sad to insult him

  • @gentlestormtoo --Atheist are incapable of love.

  • I love Petula but I don't think this song is right for her

  • ペトラクラークさんイタリア系USAですか、色気ムンムンそれよりも彼女の歌声は聞き取りやすい英語の歌詞>>>何回聞いても、おばーちゃんになってもすきなものは、、、

  • Slower tempo than the original but I love this song.

  • Stalker's favourite.. :P.. love this song though...

  • i love this version...

  • Great song! You should also check Petula's original version of this song: "Chariot" (in French).

  • santa pauli!

  • Meravigliosa Petula!!!

  • Still the best version.

  • 50 dislikes? What is there to dislike? Ms. Clark is awesome. I love the song and how she sings it. Sometimes the only taste is in their mouths, if that. Yes, I am a hardcore fan. What is their to dislike?

  • thanks

  • great voice !

"oldies"still going strong on melody and harmony and vocals...

  • I always heard this song on the radio here in the Philippines ;D

  • I just have been baptized yesterday and I have surrended my whole life to my ONLY SAVIOUR: JESUS CHRIST!!!!

  • It's true that I'm a muslim from Iraq, but still love this song.. and love Jesus, and I wish to be alive when He is going to be sent again... to follow Him.. What a beautiful words, and what an amazing voice Petula had!! For all of you, keep saying.. I WILL FOLLOW HIM.... and WE ALL... WILL FOLLOW HIM

  • @zola1313hk its true that the way you are writing is hypnotize and jesus will come my dear brother of human beeing (my english is not as good as it used to be but it does not matter to tell you that i am from afghanistan and i am not Jesus)

  • @zola1313hk j'adore ton commentaire

    boussa houria

  • @17houria I had to go through google translation to know what did you mentioned in your comment, and thank you for the complement.. best regards

  • @zola1313hk When will the Muslims stop attacking Christians in Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, and all other Islamic countries. Pet Clarks was Christian. When will Muslim be delivered from Islam, that religion of "outrage". Freedom of Conscience, Freedom of Religion are human Rights denid by Islam. The equality of women! A Catholic priest in Canada. The so-called Arab Spring will lead to more enslavement of good Muslim people. Saudi Arabia's tentacles have spread even into America!

  • @watchful38 Dear brother, you have to diffrenciate between muslims and extremiests, and extremiests not only muslims, they are christians and jewish as well.. KKK was an a christian extremiest group, and they used to kill christians as well... according to our islam we have to love and respect all prophets and messengers, we believe that God will send Juses Christ at the end of time to fight the Anti-Christ to save humanity.. I have a lot of christian friends here in Iraq, i love them as they do

  • @watchful38 by the way, christians in UK still have problems among themselves... so religious problems are everywhere not only here in iraq... but why dont you admitt that the changing of the iraqi government is the cause of all what is going here in iraq. Christians during saddam hussein time were highly protected and respected, chefs of saddam hussein were christians, he trusted them highly, there were many ministers and high positions christians inside the government

  • Comment removed

  • @watchful38 •The Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Tarek Aziz was a Christian, now hes in jail, the new Iraqi government that is brought by the Americans and Europeans and controlled by Iran want to sentence him to death.. so my brother.. the political situation here is so complicated, no one is safe from being killed, dose not matter you are a Muslim or a Christian. so brother, if you want to blame, you have to talk to those countries who were behind creating those extremists groups and cellsin Iraq

  • @zola1313hk ,

u r a muslem and U believe in Jesus ? This is the very first statement of a moslem who believes in Jesus Christ and is waiting for His second coming, I ever heard in my live! Hrdly believe it. U r either crazy, drunk or both

  • @bascovon no brother, I'm neither crazy nor drunk (although I drink alot, but never got drunk all my life). It is not only me who believes in that, most of muslims believe in this, but you have to know how to deal with muslims. the general idea that muslims have that jewish and christians hate islam and muslims, they believe deep inside that Juses Christ is going to be sent again, but many of them do not want to admit that because of what they know that there is a great hatred towards islam

  • @zola1313hk What exactly make them hate ISLAM ? I am a Christian, I do not Hate Islam. I know that They STILL DON'T KNOW what they are doing (at least in my country). I tend to avoid any confrontation with Muslims. They (Muslims), in order to fulfill the JIHAD, will do anything toward what they Call 'KAFIR/UNBELIEVER' from Kidnapping, Robbery, Blood shedding and rebellious conducts against what they think obstructions. I say those undecent conducts as crimes against humanity.

  • @bascovon i wonder if u have watched (The Passion Of The Christ) movie!! It is noly me who shed tears towards what Jesus faced, all muslims who watched it did the same, although we believe that juses Christ was not the one who tortured and killed, we believe that Judeth (sorry for misspelling the name) was turned by God to be look like Juses and tortured (a punishment from God).. and God took Juses up close to him in heaven in order to send him back at the end of time.. regards bro

  • @zola1313hk ,

Well I live in Indonesia, largest Muslim Country. They REJECT and even MOCK Jesus with very bad insults ! That's why I was amazed reading ur comment, and ur comments were simply jaw dropping ! ALL Muslims worship Muhammad and they are even willing to sacrifice their life to defend Muhammad.

  • @zola1313hk,(...cont previously)

I have NO IDEA about Jews and Christians in yr country. How they worship their religions. All I know is that Christians have Bible as their religious book, exactly like here in Indonesia. The hatred of MUSLIM toward Christians in My country, is implemented by Burning down churches, killing and torturing them. The most obvious recent incident is about having Building permit for christians, church.

  • @zola1313hk (...cont previously)

The element of Indonesian government is Moslem, members of Indonesia House Rep. are almost nearly Moslems, they are majority, and Permits to build a church for congregations are EXTREEMELY DIFFICULT, EXPENSIVE AND LONG, even with official legal and valid data, they often GET rejected. !

So once again, Sorry for misinterpreting yr presence as a Jesus lover ( identically Christianity)

  • @bascovon my friend, I hate my government because it was founded after my country being occupied, but still it is easy to get the permission of the government to build a church. and by the way, i don't care if you believe that I love Juses or not, coz only God knows that I love Him.

  • @zola1313hk I do appreciate your belief in Jesus, At least, you have shown ur stance, it's right that only the Almighty God who knows your heart. Yes, Indonesia is still the stereotype of extreme Muslim country. They believe that to be a good Muslim, one who is Other than Islam should perish and be thrown to hell, and be called a KAFIR. But those who sacrifice themselves on suicide bombing will be taken to heaven and be given 72 beautiful angels. Is that what you learn in Islam?

  • @bascovon I was only 6 years old and my mother (God bless her soul) used to lit a candle every Sunday evening, i asked her why you are doing that, she said it is for Mary the Virgin. We name our children by the names of all prophets and massengers (Issa = Juses, Mousa = Moses, Yousef = Josef.. Meryam = Mary), my 2 years old daughter's name is Meryam.

  • @zola1313hk Really sorry to hear that. It's been very interesting topics. Believe it or not I am truly amazed with ur statements! So...In your own religion (Islam) who do you worship? IS the position of Prophet Mohammad higher than ISA (Jesus) in front of the Almighty God?. Do you believe that Jesus is the only savior and the only SON OF GOD? What does the Qouran say about Jesus?

  • Are we talking music?

  • people just love this song in my country

  • stalker ass bitch

  • beautiful face....

  • I am french's muslim and i like the sister act's remix of this song

  • great song.... What happened?

  • Interesting also, to me, that she decided to record the song with Peggy March's English lyrics. The English lyrics are not a translation--rather a complete reworking. I guess she wanted to record the song in the version that English speakers were most familiar with. Still, the French version conjures up images of her starring in a Western with Clint Eastwood ("Chariot" = Chuck Wagon--see the Franch version) which would also have been charming in a real English translation.

  • In response to those folks who comment on the low range of Petula's voice in this recording, it is fascinating to compare this to her "Dream Duet" with Bobby Darin also on YouTube. In the duet, her voice is unusually HIGH. It would appear that she simply had a huge range. The low range is also featured in the French Version and her other French #1 Ya Ya Twist, the high range can be found in songs like Kiss Me Goodbye. She could do anything she wanted with her voice.

  • @joncheskin

I am taken aback. I had no idea that Petula had such a vocal range.

This has opened my eyes, - well, should be Ears,- what a song she sings here, what a fabulous voice!.

    I had no idea!.

  • @twinstu50 Yes indeed. I do not recall ever hearing her sing so deeply. What a voice!

  • Some odd reason I keep thinking Petula is actually Petunia

  • @evilunixuser1 omg... how could you...

  • GYERE KÖZELEBB ..IGEN ..GYÖNYÖRŰ..KÖSZÖNÖM EZT A VIDEÓT..SZERETETTEL..KATICA

  • boring

  • I do really like both versions too,I ALWAYS like originals but Petula's is...wow. something 'bout it. Maybe the way she says "i love him" with such strong conviction.

  • No Lady GaGa. This is Petula Clark, pay attention you people.

  • What a stunning track. My dad was a fan of Petula Clark and I am a fan of Dana Winner. A bit of similarities there.

  • @walkabout09 Lady gaga IS a true artist! I LOVE the oldies but just because you dont like Lady gaga does NOT mean you have to bring her down. Hav you ever heard Gaga sing live before? I didn't think so. Her voice is perfect. She is not just a vocal artist, she also dances, plays piano, designs clothes, & is just a great person inside & out. Lady gaga would never say something rude about you so why would you do so to her? If you nothing nice to say then don't say it at all. It's as simple as that

  • She says that now but once she's neck high into the Atlantic, she'll turn around and be like "screw this $#it! I'll wait till he comes back!" Same with the trek up that mountain she keeps whining about.

  • I thought it was lesley gore...

  • @walkabout09 Liking a particular music artist isn't stupidity, it's called individuality. That's a bit uneducated to call people stupid because they may like a particular artist that you don't.

  • by for every one

  • just lovely

  • @walkabout09 It's a matter of tastes. But your comment proves what you say anyways.

  • I really love Peggy March version, but many dont know that Petula sang it first. She hd a big hit with it in French (called Chariot) and it was later copied into English and Peggy march sang it

  • I did'nt know that lovely Petula was performing that song, I thought it was Peggy March only. This Version is much more soulful. 'Little' Peggy March's teenybopper Version is nice, but : No chance compared with Grand Petula. Thanks for that.

  • check booee 1000 out

  • Petula Clark > Lady Gaga, Kesha , Katy Perry...........Petula literally SHITS on Lady Gaga !

  • I love this song :)

  • not good

  • I'm with you, but where are we?

  • I like this song very much

  • I have always liked Petula Clark, but this is absolutely the worst song I have ever heard her attempt. The register is way too low for her and doesn't flatter her otherwise beautiful voice. Peggy March's childhood version, the #1 hit from '63 is vastly better.

  • @royko22

-Peggy March's childhood version, the #1 hit from '63 is vastly better.-

You are definitely wrong, I heard this Version of Lady Petula for the first time now - and No chance for Little Peggy. Sorry.

  • sweet sounds

  • does anyone know what the music is that is backing the vocal, I heard it many years ago by an orchestra and it has had me hooked ever since but never been able to find out who it is by.

  • that's not petula clark it's little peggy

  • @jermthemac Different versions.

  • sweet song

  • :-) :-) :-) ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Sorry I didnt mean to post twice. :o/

  • This is Petula Clarke? Are you sure? Doesn't sound like her.

  • @Tumatarua Yes, it's Petula Clark in a pre-"Downtown" recording from 1963. She had already had a major hit with this tune in its French language version, "Chariot," in 1962. Try comparing this recording with "Chariot" (also posted on YouTube) instead of with her later trans-Atlantic hits.

  • This is Petula Clarke? Are you sure? Doesn't sound like her. Listen to her other songs.

  • I remember this sweet lady like it was just last summer. Never met you Pet, but love you just the same!!

  • Sehr wunderbar! Vielen Dank!

  • Petula... I love you!

  • This is a GREAT song and Petula Clark did an amazing job... but I have to say that I liked Whoopi Goldberg's better :/

  • The movie was good too!!!

  • Le plus grand succès de Pet en France avant "downtown".

  • LOVE THE LEAD GUITAR NICE VERSION

  • putri ayu version is good too

  • @mademoisellelotus i do not agree whether she's capable of singing whatever way she wants, since I listen to her French and it's not so good

  • It sounds like a tranny is singing it in this version!

  • @AceNinja2112 LOL

  • @AceNinja2112 You are so stupid it baffles me.

What kind of tranny sounds like this?

    >___>

  • I Will Follow You... Thats's My Favourite Songs.. My True Love My True Love .. Really Romantic.. Ty Petula Clark ;)

  • Whoopi goldberg sang it better in Sister Act!

  • @someancreek1

Oh yes, Whoopi's Song is better!

  • @DieBuecherfresserin its a matter or tastes

  • This cannot be The famous Petula Clark, there is no english accent present and the voice is too low! I can tell her voice anywhere.

  • @JoDaddee You can check out a sample of this recording over at amazon.com. Look for the "Classic Collection" 4-CD compilation on the Castle Pulse label. You will find it on disc one as track number 14. It appears on other Pet Clark compilations as well. This is indeed Petula Clark. She had a big hit with this in foreign language versions.

  • TROPPO BELLA

  • Super song.

  • This is not Patula Clark

  • @rickcuban322 No, this is indeed Petula Clark, in a 1963 recording. Her foreign language versions of this song had already topped the charts in France (the original recording of this tune with lyrics) and Italy by the time she released an English-language version. The German language version charted in Germany the same year as the English release - 1963. Compare all of these versions. No question - it's Pet.

  • GRANDE PETULA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sforza St.Pauli!

  • Wonderful song! I heard it this evening at a show on italian television andsoon i liked it ! i didì nt hear it before. This means beatiful music is universal!! and instantly catchy.

  • Im a wild hard drinking biker...this song makes me cry...boo hoo..

  • I'm a youngester and have only ever heard this song on Sister Act, and like it! I like this version too...despite Petula singing rather deep! :-)

  • not bad. but i think the version from PEGGY MARCH is the best one...sorry, petula...

  • This is so the wrong key. Dislike.
