Heh, awesome. Seems more real than some of that other martial arts crap out there. People who only know the cliche Kung Fu, they look at this video and dismiss it as fake. But seriously, look closely at the end. Every movement is deliberate. People used to showy western style grapple fighting like the ufc and wrestling, as well as boxing, they laugh at the flailing of arms, how stupid and uncool it looks. Well that's what happened.

It's called Drunken Boxing. It looks wild an crazy which is what drunken boxing looks like when done correctly, its actually a very complicated art form. It confuses your opponent, makes you almost impossible to hit and deceives your opponent into thinking you can't fight till there on there ass.
His technique is actually pretty good. The "flailing haymakers" you see are actually evasions of his opponent's unskilled attacks. He positions himself perfectly with very good footwork for the knockout ridgehand he plants right under the guy's jaw, knocking him cold. All in all, a fine display of skill. Things don't look as elegant on the street as they do in the kwoon, but the result rather speaks for itself.
@Peregrinusexpectavi You're exactly right. It's elaborate, but effective. Personally, I'd love to see how the punk in the street would have fared against something brutal like Wing Chun or Krav Maga.

I don't train kung fu, I train a style based off karate. His technique looks great. I see how he quickly glances over his shoulder to see how much room he has and if there are any other opponents coming to him. His blocks are highly succesful, his opponent didn't even get a shot on and the strike to the artery was solid and text book rendering his opponent knocked the fuck out. The way I learned that strike is a bit different but both ways seem to be highly effective.
I like how all the random fuckwits in here think the guy was just throwing haymakers. Look up 'Choy Li Fut'. Looks goofy, but it's plenty effective. I wouldn't practice it over, say, boxing, mainly because of the complexity, but martial arts don't stick around for centuries without being managing to keep their practitioners in one piece.

I respectfully disagree that Kung Fu is "better" thatn Jiu Jitsu in an outnumbered situation. In any outnumbered fight, the goal is to remove as many threats as possible to even it out. With proper BJJ you can quickly break an arm or leg thereby taking that combatant out of the fight adn then moving on to the next. And the BJJ conditioning helps too.
@TaurisMemnon Not really, because in a situation where you are being attacked by multiple people if you end up on the ground you basically lose regardless of whether or not you're able to injure one person. The goal is to flee as fast as you can. Your best chance is probably eye gauges, groin shots, and throat shots.

And yes, now we open up the age old argument of how much better a given system is that another... The situation is as inklebonker points out, he was trained in Kung Fu, not Jujutsu. So he of course responded in that way. And who is to say that the attacker's friends wouldn't have jumped the guy when he went to the ground or even got in close for a throw? To make a long story short, at distance and in this situation, Kung Fu was as good or better than Jujutsu and therefore viable.

And yes, now we open up the age old argument of how much better a given system is that another... The situation is as inklebonker points out, he was trained in Kung Fu, not Jujutsu. So he of course responded in that way. And who is to say that the attacker's friends wouldn't have jumped the guy when he went to the ground or even got in close for a throw? To make a long story short, at distance and in this situation, Kung Fu was as good or better than Jujutsu and therefore viable.

I've been watching this clip forever now. Been showin people left and right. Not of course because I'm racist as many people claim that everyone else is, but because its funny. @bw2483 Honestly I don't feel racist at all about this video. I used to live in Pontiac Michigan and there was a great deal of black on white violence. They even let the Islam Nation (Meaning the black racist version) have an assembly at our school. I was picked on a great deal for just being white. Thankfully my black neighbor took me under his wing and helped me learn to protect myself. However, I bet this is what was going on here. Kid got what he deserved.

@bw2483 the thing is that the guy in red was not defending himself. he was showing off. If he was a true martial artist, then he would have just walked away. In addition, the fighting stance that he took was completely unnecessary. It was over-exaggerated. As funny as this clip was, it in no way demonstrates both the power and values present in traditional martial arts.
