  • What i was saying is The Manhattan Love Suicides have split up , and Adam and Rachel from the band have formed The Medusa Snare and Caroline and Darren have formed The Blanche Hudson Weekend, and that particular band sound a lot like The Manhattan Love Suicides.

  • Caroline and Darren have a new band called The Blanche Hudson Weekend that sound just like this.

  • Everytime i read the - "Pop music has always been about stealing and using the past. The Beatles, The Stones etc were stealing riffs left right and centre back in 1962/63. That's pop music for you" - defence, it reminds me how far those bands transcended their influences, whereas this type of band just copies wholesale without progressing...

  • p.s. then again, I happen to love this sound, and noone else is hitting this button better right now, are they????

  • @chunkyricesushi: which is presumably why you enjoy listening to them? Or put them in the same peerage as the Beatles and the Stones?

  • at least they picked a good band to rip off.

  • Great band, reminds me of my favorite Raveonettes!

  • which remind me of my favorite JAMC

  • They are an amazing band, I don't care that people think they ripped off (insert band name here). Pop music has always been about stealing and using the past. The Beatles, The Stones etc were stealing riffs left right and centre back in 1962/63. That's pop music for you.

I love this record. Love it.

  • this is such an epic and totally great fuzzy song--

beat happening is awesome and all, but it's sounds a bit different than that to me.

    but that's just my opinion...

  • Being derivative is not a problem. All of pop music is derivative. The biggest problem here is being just plain boring. Keep it coming, guys, you'll get it right in time, hopefully.

  • Same chords as Indian Summer , and this band covered that track on their debut album so it's probably no coincidence.Stealing from Beat Happening is no bad thing.

  • Someone was listening to Indian Summer by The Beat Happening when they wrote this song. It's such an obvious rip off that I can't believe no one brought it up before. Do a search for Indian Summer by The Beat Happening and you'll see what I mean. Indian was releases a long time ago

  • What you may call copying , i call being heavily influenced by.

The Mary Chain borrowed a lot from plenty of bands - and just added noise.

To be the worse live band you've ever seen and to have been that pissed off - that's something for The Manhattan Love Suicides to be proud of i think.

  • what's good about a band shamelessly copying the jesus & mary chain in every aspect??

most boring and worse live band I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot...

  • i have to agree on the copying aspect, but its the sound they're copying that makes people want to listen to it.

i have mixed feelings on the newer shoegaze / noise pop inspired bands. i love the sound, but there's a lot of bands that just copy the jamc or my bloody valentine.

  • some candy talking!

  • i kept expecting to hear "i want your candy..."

  • yeah.."some candy talking "..

    watch out raveonettes!!!

  • great!

  • Its brilliant.

Let the children carry the torch.

  • This is utter garbage!! Derivative, I think not, I think these fools actually think there good!!! Hey the sun dont shine in Leeds whats with the shades?

  • This band are excellent live :D

  • Fucking amazing. What can beat noisy melodic guitars, a pop beat and lovely voice that says : Keep it coming? 10/10 for this song. Fucking rock n roll.

  • Just bought the 7" ! Brilliant stuff. If you love The Jesus & Mary Chain, The VU and guitar feedbacks (wow!) buy this record. Now!

  • WOW... I keep on being re-amazed by this band. Great, great great!

    KEEP IT COMING!!!

  • Love it

  • This is being released as a glorious 7" single on Lostmusic Records in October 2007.
