Ah, Beverly Johnson. I was 9 years old in 1984 when she left Connecticut for the San Francisco Bay Area. The reason I know is because my parents and I also moved there that very same year! What a coincidence. She was a very bright, young meteorologist, which is why we were saddened to hear that not long after the move, she died in a car accident on the Golden Gate Bridge. I think she would've gone far in her career too, It was like a part of our family had died. RIP Beverly Johnson!

That highway spending bill referred to at the top of the newscast was Gov. Bill O'Neill's response to the 1983 Mianus River Bridge collapse.

The ID V/O at the start sounds like Ray Marlin - who also announced for WOR-TV in New York on a part-time basis through 1981-82.
