My mom told me they do aarti at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, she grew up there so I'm pretty sure she would know. A lot has changed since then so maybe they don't anymore?? not too sure.
The Sikh aarti is different, all artis are read at Gurudwaras by the Bhagats and Guru Nanak in Guru Granth Sahib. They highlight the need of GOD and fruitlessness of practices followed by other religions.

The aarti is part of Sikh worship. It is only recently that the physical side has been neglected by the ultra orthodox cus it looks like a hindu custom. Sikhism has many customs and beliefs that not even the high command structures can agree on. This is historically correct.

Sikhism does have the Arti prayer in the Guru Granth Sahid (GGS)
it belongs to sikhs... But the way they are doing it is against the principles. This hymn says that there is no need to do any Aarti for The Lord as the whole universe is doing his Aarti. He is the creator and do not need any flowers and diya, when whole jungles of sandalwood and the big stars are doing it for him...
So no need for Aarti. It is just a karam kaand which is an act done just in physical forgetting the soul of it that is the real purpose of doing it....

Every Sikh should remember that Guru Nanak Dev ji rejected the rituals of Brahmins from the age of 9.Further every Sikh knows that all the Gurus have the same jot.

Some Sikhs don't know about these shabads/arti because this isn't done among all of the castes. I think caste system was abolished but there are still some castes (non-Jatt, etc) that do this. I've seen a lot of my Sikh friends who are not Jatt pray this way. I personally found it different but I guess that's a difference. On the topic of Amitabh, he was pretty much against Sikhs in 1984 and even has some people accusing him of being in the riots... so don't know what to say to that.

There is a arti in sikhi cause they do it at the guardwara, but just not with the pooja tray, so i would strongly suggest you replace your comments with some real facts go and ask a senior, infact look it up on you tube or go and ask at a religious CD store and they will tell you about the aarti.

I want to ask these people what is the purpose of this act. Guru Granth Sahib needs to be respected but also needs to read and the teachings need to be applied in once day to day lives. It is a collection of poems and stories written by Guru Gobind Singh and other poets. Bhai Mani Singh collected these poems after Guru Gobind Singh's death and called it Dasam Granth. Many of the poems that had been lost during various battles had been recreated by Bhai Mani Singh from memory.
Chapter 2 of Bachitar Natak details the lineage of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's own family (Sodhi Clan), not Guru Nanak's. He tells of a lineage of kings (He says the good ones were called gods and the bad ones were called demons). He says Ram was the son of King Dastratha. Some Sikhs don't know about these shabads/arti because this isn't done among all of the castes. I think caste system was abolished but there are still some castes (non-Jatt, etc) that do this. I've seen a lot of my Sikh friends who are not Jatt pray this way. I personally found it different but I guess that's a difference. On the topic of Amitabh, he was pretty much against Sikhs in 1984 and even has some people accusing him of being in the riots... so don't know what to say to that.

Aarti is being done by God himself, in nature. Guru ji tells us the do that Aarti, which is contemplating on the Shabad, in repeating his Shabad. The Guru tells us to realize that light, that knowledge which pleases the Guru.

I want to ask these people what is the purpose of this act. Guru Granth Sahib needs to be respected but also needs to read and the teachings need to be applied in once day to day lives. GuruGobind Singh Ji said that these poems and stories were designed to inspire his Sikhs and give them courage. They are not given religious significance. Guru Gobind Singh said that the only guru after himself will be Guru Granth Sahib.

I apologize for making fun of your spelling. Obviously, you only have a 4th grade education. Bachitar Natak is in Dasam Granth. It is not a religious book. It is a collection of poems and stories written by Guru Gobind Singh and other poets. Bhai Mani Singh collected these poems after Guru Gobind Singh's death and called it Dasam Granth. Many of the poems that had been lost during various battles had been recreated by Bhai Mani Singh from memory.

Chapter 2 of Bachitar Natak details the lineage of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's own family (Sodhi Clan), not Guru Nanak's. He tells of a lineage of kings (He says the good ones were called gods and the bad ones were called demons). He says Ram was the son of King Dastratha. Ram married Sita and gave birth to 2 sons, before Ram died. They founded Kasur and Lahore. They fathered many sons, and they grandsons. One was Sodhi Rai, who founded Sanaudh dynasty. His sons and grandsons were called Sodhis
