hm...usually you understand just the surface and cannot see any depth.
So for instance a deduction might sound for you as the the same thought because you do not understand the structure that is in between the thoughts (which is actually the interesting information to process?- at least for me.)
@trulynot i am serious: Read for example ,,Adorno: Negative Dialectics``- one might either think that this book could be summarized in one till 4 sentences or he will not understand any sentence at all. So if you keep reading and reflect the thoughts more and more, you will realize how deep they actually are. -(it is up to you how deep you can go). On the other hand you might also realize that the surface just seemed to be intelligent but inside the thought there is voidness.
@trulynot im also quite busy atm and apart from it takes too long to work out the indirect effects of his work on society. It would also be wrong to say that he did nothing because he did not participate in activism or politics but was busy with intellectual work. However he had a huge influence on the student movement of 1968 which ironically he considered as a fail because ,,this is the point where rationality turns into irrationality``.
@paranapoleon He made a lot of studies in social psychology on the authoritarian personality and was founder of the critical theory which still is a tool in the criticism of capitalism and society. All in all he found out that the tendency in stereotypical thinking is increasing and there is no hope in things getting better: he was the tragic man who saw clearly the suffering -and he also knew that all he could do is keep working and watching the world falling apart.

Geez, I cant stand a lot of academia, they manage to take an obvious concept and drag it out in to an hour.

@paranapoleon Ok, I dont have to time to research Adorno
aside from reading the wiki. What is his actual provable legacy ? What has he done to make the world a better place - evidence pls.
