My favorite of all the Grimm's fairy tales! Every time I watch it I think how clever the King was to plan everything out, and who he must have included in his plan, lol! Maybe he told the server to call Elena upstairs to mop and then strategically leave the door open a little? ;D

This & Beauty & the Beast are closest of all fairytales to summing up the Good News. But both still hinge on the loved as either truly being worthy of love (Beast) or the unworthy loved one changing of their own ability (works). By contrast the Gospel is; in-spite-of ourselves God loves us so much that He died to save us. So, we are given mercy, grace, forgiveness, & love; though we can never be worthy of them. It is He who changes us, not we ourselves, if we admit it & turn to Him for help.
the princesses of GFTC seem to be very willing to work be low their station. Sister of brother and sister even after she was queen did the baby care. and in both this and many coats does a crowned princess work as a scullery maid. So, I think that there were undertones just for the young ladies watching.
@XSpellBinder yea to be the slave to your man and to be greatful if they allow you to love them. learn to clean and cook., there are no princesses that are born expressing the need to do hard work (too) they are forced into it.

At first I too was suprised that King Grizzle Beard was the musican, but after thinking twice I was like, "Well duh" ^^;
Since he chose to me a musican when the princess was learning, I guess that proves how pretty his voice is. ^^
