I don't think enough people can say how bad the commentary was - stuff like "I don't think it was a random drawing because everyone has come out next to their tag partners", "yeah, I agree." Way to expose it as booked, dipshits.
Mark Madden was such a SHITTY announcer. Typical WCW to cut to a commercial break when someone like Nash comes out. The time between people coming out was random as well, gotta love it. How retarded was Sting eliminating himself? They were pushing Awesome, yet gave him "that 70's guy" gimmick? Instant credibility killer right there. The booking of WCW was so shit at this point, it's hilarious.
Wcw was great during this time. People who actually watched it in 2001 after Russo was fired would agree. It was looking more and more like the cool wwf television which is what I wanted it to be so badly (I had a lot of loyalty to wcw).
I really wish wcw could have been saved. Wrestling would have benefited so much from it. Good luck TNA, I hope you can provide real competitive competition to the mighty wwe one day
@SRPC21 agreed, no matter how bad it was WCW had a core audience of wrestling fans (me included) that would still watch... until Russo showed up, and then everyone except the die-hard fans were left when Russo was finally gone for good... I stopped watching once Russo started wrestling for the title but came back when he was fired... I liked the atmosphere for the smaller crowds since everyone was there to watch wrestling, not cheer for fireworks
