This is my favorite version of Wild Cat Blues. First, the tempo is exactly right - not so darn fast. Second, the full orchestra, especially on the first part, adds fullness to the clarinet solo. Third, he clarinet provides fully rounded tones thatare pleasing to the ear. Finally, the Dixieland finish really sells this interpretation. Oh, yeah! This old bassist can play along with you.

In my opinion, they play it a bit to slow. The best performance of wild cat blues I ever heard / seen, is with Chris Barber, when Monty Sunshine is playing the clarinet. Any one have this version? Please post.

To "thorhave", I would suggest you listen to the ultimate performance by Sidney Bechet.He's the guy that Monty copied from when he was with Barber.

das spielt meine freundin aufm soprahnsax, und dash ört sich dann noch nen bisschen besser an.. aber mit klaruinette ist auch kuhl^^
