Windows gets best performancee, but only because of non-microsoft software optimized for windows and then applied to linux (like drivers, binaries and garbage). Everywhere else linux is faster. Stability - linux wins. Openness - linux wins. Licensing, patent and copyright burden - linux wins. Costs - linux wins.

Mac wins on power consumption, low latency of its sound system and overall integration of (overpriced) components.

um, what about sauerbraten, alien arena, nexuiz? not to mention playonlinux, cedega, crossover games, and strait up WINE. Besides, it's not about linux being a "insuperior gaming platform", it is about windows having a monopoly and game companies being too cheap to let us "play too". Infact, apps compiled in linux generally run upto 30% faster. Hell, even things in wine sometimes run faster. We use linux because it is superior to windows and won't "give in" just cause every one else is using it

@chily299 bueno yo e probado ambos y prefiero linux para algunas cuestiones simples en pcs de bajos recursos windows lo utilizo para prácticamente todo y en 6 años no e tenido ni un problema de que se pegue se reinicie ni se ponga lento aun cuando yo expongo el equipo al máximo en cambio en visto problemas en las pc de mis amigos y familiares por que ellos no saben utilizar muy bien la pc. No soy fan de windows pero amo el soporte soporte por el que pagan ellos y tu aun que no pagues lo tienes.
