dude in the blue shirt described the Dunning–Kruger effect, basically. Look it up. Wikipedia has a good article on it. (Found this looking at Robin Williams' park scene in Good Will Hunting to show a friend. Now that's fantastic acting)
this was actually good advice, unlike so many other videos on acting i've seen on youtube, that tell you no quality info.thanks for this, and please post more videos and more in depth videos.
OK. This guy knows what he is talking about. he has worked with some of the best actors and actresses of today. It is ALL ABOUT LISTENING. being natural is being boring....anyone can be natural and mundane. ...you need to have talent and create and work hard, very hard.
Leave these guys alone. Becoming "good" or truthful is a matter of process. I'm sorry they don't meet your standards (yet) but there's no reason to bite their head off when presumably they're continuing their training precisely to get better. I've done than my half share of scenes that most likely appeared stilted and hackneyed.
What the hell kind of advice are they even giving? My advice, just be natural. Just do what you believe to do. Acting only matters to you, not to the people around. If they don't like you, try a different role. Today, I tried a person with differents accents, but I really sucked at that. Then, I tried person with multiple personalities, and I've gotta admit I did a pretty damn good job at it.
The one thing I really agree with is the fact all these unemployed actors... well, some figure they can look pretty for the camera and get tons of money, when it never is like that. Only one in a million chance nowadays.
@pmh632 what do you mean he has never worked in his life? I don't really remember why I didn't like the scene between the two guys. I mean I thought that 2 years ago, right?...don't really know. Maybe because it is boring to watch em and it is kind of fake to me or maybe I watched a movie with Meryl Streep before?
@aiyle no buddy u didn't get me. i'm right WITH YOU. these two guys are LAME.. and they are supposedly under the "great" howard fine? and they are posting this video as marketting? very bad strategy too i think. never worked a day in his life meaning, howard fine is a person who has never worked a DAY in his life as a considertable actor on a "job". i don't understand why kids choose an acting coach who has never done any REAL acting work himself... all puppets. i go under a different coach.
lawls i think Selena Gomez can do better than these two xD

These are horrible actors. This looks like the filming of a soap opera.

I agree with you, xhydropumpx.
They aren't giving any kind of advice, they are just showing off, putting on.
U need to find your own acting technique and see if works for you and if does - just follow this technique. And be natural. Yes, be natural.

How many Lions do you see walking around saying, you know how hard it is to be a lion? No! There just Lions, doin it.

Fantastic? You suck. We all know what great acting is when we see it. But it's difficult to see yourself acting good when you're the one acting.
