Yeah that's old news I already know about it. Also When they say SD that just means that's the origin of the gundams. Musha Gundam and Musha MKII were based on SD's from the Musha series (go figure >.> ). This time since there is no Musha MKIII instead we're getting Knight Gundam... I already can hear my wallet crying for when his model kit is released.

Even as a female, I feel girls' tastes have hurt Gundam. However, my male significant other and I both loved this series. We really like Loran as he seems like one of the most mature Gundam pilots (none of Amuro's lovable :/ attitude here).  Loran's unusual design and the mecha design (the latter I didn't care for, but oh, well) seems suitable considering the overall different feel of the show. The opening, it's OK? The song really grew on me. It's the Japanese YMCA guy!

meh.. none of the main characters in Gundam shows end up being the favourites, whether it's Amuro, Camille, Heero or etc.. For me, the most interesting characters (who stole the show) were Kihel and Dianna.

The thing that appealed to me about Loran above other Gundam main characters was that he didn't destroy 50,000 well-trained actual mecha pilots every episode. Then again, his enemies constantly escaping did bring on that "I'll get you next time, Gadget, next tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime" feeling...

There's the flip side of the coin however that the live action Transformers were radically different looking from their G1 counterparts and they were accepted and liked , so it could be successful, if not only profitable.

If there was one thing a lot of Gundam fans hated about Turn A Gundam, it was the Turn A Gundam itself. Syd Mead's design for the titular mobile suit stirred up a lot of controversy back in the day. From what I read in an anime magazine once, Yoshiyuki Tomino told Mead to "do something different", and so, he did.

Perhaps my only complaint about the Turn A's design was the location of the core fighter/ cockpit. I was thinking, one hit to the crotch, and it's all over.

Look up "Hige Fix 2" -- A bunch of artists play with the idea and the outcome is a very cool looking set of original designs.

They even take the initial shock out of the mustache and keep it cool: the problem was the chin setup makes it look too much like a mouth.

people just don't understand that this isn't your typical Gundam in all aspects and they can't appreciate that fact. this series broke away from MOST (not all) the Gundam Cliches and was by far the most original Gundam ever conceived after the first Gundam Series. This series by far had the best cast. every character was developed adequately and the final episode of the series packs some of the most impressive animation seen in any Gundam.
