A comment below says that the USA has an issue with Vietnamese "cat fish" production to protect the USA production. Well the Mekong is a disgusting river and the rest is up to you to decide.
The FDA would not allow this fish to be sold in our stores if it was unsafe to eat. I have eaten it and had no ill effects from it. It is actually quite good.
This video is full of rhetoric from the USA catfish farming industries. They showed you the worst images of homes on the river and never even showed you a farm right next to the homes of businesses. They are jealous because they have lost more than 20% of their business to more tasty competition. Swai is absolutely delicious... Ever wonder why it's called swai? Because they lobbied for it not to be called catfish and now since it didn't work they want it's name to be changed back to catfish.
Has no effect on me. It's tasty, I eat it often, and feel perfectly fine.
