  • I am impressed with your footage. It looks really good. how much pressure did you pop in there? I have been making low pressure plasmas on commission and getting a soft bushy light dancing effect, my pressure i put in is around 30mBar mainly neon gas at 80% and 20% argon. leaving the electrode not fully activated too just warmed with an induction coil a little to dry it out..

  • @NeonPeta hiya, thanks for checking this out. As for level of pressure/vacuum I couldn't tell you, I don't use gauges for any of my plasma pieces. The way I once learned that neon gas will carry a discharge at atmosphere was when I over pressurised a piece and exploded it. The electricity kept discharging through the neon in the part which was left hanging from my manifold :P ... So I do things by feel. My vacuum pump is from an electron microscope so it sucks down pretty deep.

  • @NeonPeta I have my hands full making work which sells at the moment, but I'm hoping to have a new piece ready for a steampunk themed new year exhibition/party/event ... most of the time my affection for plasma is like my dirty little secret which I sometimes indulge in until 3 or 4am in the morning ... I'm trying to make more time for it :)

  • very cool
