  • Diana was so magnetic and her voice I just love. Mary couldn't sing, Flo was a drug addict. End of discussion.

  • @scheckdj Hmm I guess you forgot about the DUI on the news.

  • @scheckdj Flo was not a drug addict. Websearch Diana ross dui

  • @HairH2O Florence Ballard lit up the billboard charts as one of the founding members of The Supremes. Her difficulties with depression and alcohol abuse contributed to her poor health. She died of heart-related problems at the age of 32. Check out Wikipedia!

  • ...true I grew up listening to ALL of the Supremes.

  • ugh, Diana's singing faces are bugging me hard.

  • This is a Jewell video, the sound, chorus, the lyrics, what AWESOME SONG!!!!

  • Florence Ballard is my favorite supreme, she is so beautiful

  • One of the greatest groups in history. I loved this song when it came out and still love it as much today. Thanks!

  • im doing on the 12 days of christmas and im doing that song for the 12 days of christmas

we are ganna do lady gaga spongebob and friends

  • The backup girls look like country hicks compared to the so very glamorous Diana Ross

  • ahhh goodmusic.. thx for uploading

  • They still performance very good!!

  • Kurt you are so Lame, Just like that Mary Wilson thing, trying to Steal as much of The Legacy from the STAR as you can, Just because YOU DON"T LIKE HER, Deal with it Little PSYCHO, Miss Diana Ross was 85% of what "The Supremes were, Your trash Talk does nothing to change the Facts, HDH & The Funk Brothers had more to do with the Success of The Supremes than Mary, Cindy & Florence combined FOOL!

  • Silly Miss Kurt, Diana has always been Likable & Generous, That new House that Flo Ballard bought shortly before her Death didn't fall out of Mary Wilsons Ass, And When Crack Pipe Mary went Bankrupt in 1982, Diana was there to bail her Ass out & lend her money for a Home, Sounds "Generous" to me, You're just a Bitter Jealous Old Queen attempting to elevate Background singers, by minimizing The Lead Singer, Move on to the Pips or Vandellas, Variety is the Spice of Life!

  • shit sound quality

  • ダイアナロス最高!

  • Wow! Nice non kinky oldy! Great song, great times for real singers

  • Great performance!!

  • Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye, The Four Tops, Temptations, Stevie Wonder....James brown

    :)

  • I love yhis song

  • @bigbear39ca Not just those 2 records. When you think about it, so many of their recordings were enhanced by The Andantes, even ones that The Supremes sang back ups on. Funny how it was the backing singers that needed help to sound better and NOT Diana's vocals!

  • Yeah, I knew they weren't called Diana Ross and the Supremes until later, but when I searched, I searched Diana Ross because that's who I look for.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!

  • STOP hater..in the name of LOVE...hehe

  • fa sho baby this girl is tha world

  • haha Diana's high as a kite

  • Diana had star written all over her, she has all the personality , just look at her expressions , look at those big eyes these youngsters today juust don't know what a rich background they have in this industry ,

  • Diana had star written all over her, she has all the personality , just look at her expressions , look at those big eyes

  • Fist time I ever heard this was on this date 1967 and I have not stopped loving Ms Ross She is the Boss

  • And to think that Mary, Florence & Diana from day one have structured the group to be versatile with three different leads according to the material they needed to tackle and here comes Berry Gordy with a Pop Chart mentality to seduce the self serving side of egotistic Diana into the manufactured cookie cutter sound he created! Money, Money, Money and he paid (PAYLOA) top dollar to radio (Stations & DJ's) to get them there!

  • It's weird how her voice (Diana Ross) was sweet like a pop tart, but so expressive at the same time

  • her voice was totally unique & instantly recognizable. it was the voice of american radio for the 1960's and a huge part of 70's music.

  • she is Diva!

  • nice

  • I think that it is hysterical that you "Ross as a solo act" fans are still arguing over something that was settled nine years age. The failure of the ridiculous "Return to Love" proved once and forever that Diane WAS NOT The Supremes. The legend of the Supremes is greater than the sum of its parts......Diane is merely a part! Those people that were there for THE SUPREMES' phenomenon understand that....it will take a brick wall to fall on the "Ross as a solo act" fans. The Supremes were IT!

  • @kurtsupreme - JEALOUS MUCH!

  • @kurtsupreme Diana is a MAJOR PART of the SUPREMES & for many, SYNONOMOUS; ESPECIALLY for the YOUNGER generations who ADORE HER & see HER as a ROLE MODEL, such as Beyonce, WHICH copied her in the movie Dreamgirls, when it wasn’t a Supremes movie necessarily. It’s only you OLD-TIME remnants who REFUSE to ACKNOWLEDGE THIS for your GIRL was not picked in YOUR day. The Return to Love Tour only proved the paltry & fickle ways of America (& media) who have now returned, which WORLDWIDE never left her.

  • @classanddignity Nothing that you said is consistent with my world view beginning with your statement about Beyonce about DREAMGIRLS.........."wasn't a SUPREMES movie necessarily? f it wasn't, what was it? They used the Supremes image and history (changed a few facts.....like making the Diane character likeable, kind, and generous!) and avoided having to pay royalties to MOTOWN in order to produce it. I agree that the perspective is generational; however, one is based on FACTS not adoration.

  • @kurtsupreme Figuratively Speaking is what I meant by “wasn’t a Supremes movie necessarily”; it was INSPIRED by the Supremes and other groups of that era, which included Motown (originally in the play). However, due to DIANA’s MAJOR INFLUENCE on the younger generation, which sees her as Inspirational, so it focus on many aspects of them with DIANA’S achievements./likeness. Hate is your truth, not a FACT on what she is ALL about. That’s not only adoration, but balance, something that you lack.

  • @kurtsupreme Ie. In the movie “Dream Girls”, each character of the Supremes is REPRESENTED, but Diana’s character is the ONLY one COPIED VERBATIM pretty much. Thus, this is her INFLUENCE on the subsequent generations is what I am saying. Thus, Diana’s influence as a Supreme and w/o them is STAR power to the latter generation, but something to hate upon & diminish for it wasn’t one of the other two in your time. Some things should be gotten over & can’t be taken away is what I am saying.

  • @classanddignity I don't know what movie you saw, but the DREAMGIRLS movie that I saw relied heavily on THEIR image, NOT Diane's! They used the albums of the legendary SUPREMES,, not Diane's solo albums. If the movie singled any ONE Supreme out, it was FLO, not DIANE! Also, the "Diane" character, Deana, was nice, sympathetic, and not at all self-centered....................NOTHING like DIANE! What movie are YOU talking about???

  • Don't forget to watch Florence Ballard's (Unsung) story on the TVOne channel Sunday June 28th 09.

  • Ross the sound of a whole new music and a whole new genre... you think? Destiny for sure. Mary should do EXLAX commercials...

  • Diana Ross and The Supremes were the magic of Motown. The owner of motown records Barry Gordie...owes alot of recognition to Diana Ross, without her he would have never made it. The Supremes would have never made a mark in the MUSIC mainstream without Diana Ross. That is the truth, and if you don't like it.. to bad!! Diana Ross was the one with the voice... not the supremes

  • wild1heart: It is Diana who owes Barry. Throughout her career with the Supremes and as a solo artist, she has always said it was Barry who would inspire and guide her to stardom. Further, she has also said at times when she had doubts, that it was Barry who nurtured, guided and inspired her that she could do anything. True, Diana had the raw talent and determination to succeed, but let's keep the facts straight. You can e-mail her at her myspace and ask her.

  • diana ross was messing around with berry...and not to metion he was married at the time..

  • True she was, but Barry was cheating on his wife, and he had a few other children with women other than Diana while he was still married. So what's your point!

  • But tell the WHOLE story....he was separated! And who cares? Is this the first time you heard of someone sleeping with the boss....watched the news lately? Anyway....even if it were Mary or Florence (or whoever else for that matter), Diana Ross was the right front-woman for the Supremes! If I never knew any of the drama in the background, I'd STILL say the records are classics!

  • Let's get it right if MS. Mary was all that she would have been in the "SPOT LIGHT" she just wasn't choosen, the moral of the story is if GOD wanted Flo to be a SuperStar she would have been, life happens, so get over it. They all had great lifes back in the day. It is what it is.

Diana wanted to do a reunion it was MAry Wilson who was greedy and wanted the same amount Diana was getting paid, go figure. LOL

  • makbria Mary did not want the SAME as Diane. She wanted more than what she was offered; however, what she really wanted was equal creative control. Mary had no intention of standing behind Diane like a flagpole. She wanted input into the show and she wanted the trio to sing as a GROUP again instead of as a bride and 2 silent bridesmaids.........Diane would have none of it! That's why she did the RTL tour with Sherrie and Lynda. They are the ones who stood behind her like flagpoles!

  • Do you know how irritating it is to focus solely on one person in a video, then look up who they are, and find out they died...:'( And reading her backstory just made it worse. I've been listening to the supremes since I was little but I never actually watched them perform, so I didn't know about anyone but Ross. God, Flo's smile was so pretty, and I love the way she nods during the "think it all over" part at 1:40.

    Love you, Flo!

  • Here here! makbria34! Tell it like it is!

  • In reponse to my comments in regards to the "best sounding voice" I was referring to Florence Ballard.

  • O.K. Live singing, notice Dianna is a little further away from the group, they are no longer sharing the same mic. Sex is good with her & Barr-Lol. As the hits keep coming, Flo & Mary will be further away from Dianna & the mic turned down low. Will give Dianna her do, she gave us a pretty brown skin girl, when thin was in.

  • she got some hips on here

  • the song from the 60s that still is a joy to listen to.

  • To be accurate, this is the Supremes, not Diana Ross & the Supremes. The latter name for the group did not exist until the late spring of 1967 when Flo left the group and Cindy Birdsong took her place.

  • I know, but don't you think this maybe a bit too accurate? I think most of the people look for Diana Ross and so ...

  • the song is 02:48 minutes long not 02:47.

  • @nocturne1279 I look for the Supremes , i did not know the details of the name change in 1967.

  • IT SHOULD BE JUST DIANA ROSS if you want to be real.. She was and is the Supremes to all but a few bitter old hater queens. It's obvious that Ross sounds much better than the record quite unlike mary and Flo with their rough and flat FLAT "baby babaaye"s

  • I sincerely beg your right to differ. The sound had to do a lot with mixing and producing in the studio. Keeping it real for one minute I do recall the Motown producers indicating that she had "the best sounding voice" however it was not the most marketable for that time period. Diana's voice was very nasal in nature and not as intimidating as Flo's and Caucasian audiences did find it a bit more appealing (crossover appeal) and as a result more time and money got devoted to this group.

  • Dear LeatherMastero1,

As we all know Motown had a quality control board and was very particular about putting out the very best music. Diana was chosen, from the beginning, to be the lead beacause of the supernatural clarity and flute-like resonance

of her voice. They knew her voice was the uniquely perfect instrument to adavance the do-wop/POP/R&B hybrid sound that was Motown. Proof is in their unprecedented and unrepeated ARTISIC and commercial success; and here we are listening to DR's lead
