Very few things actually save a tonne of CO2. Take a look at my other video to see what these are. Anyone can do 4 of these to save 4 tonnes. You may even be able to do all ten and so halve your CO2 emissions. Most other actions are small fry go for the big savings to make a real difference. We dont claim theyre all easy but they are all do-able, and frankly they are the only choices we have right now. 87 months to go!
I'm hoping that the economies of going after increasingly inaccessible oil will push the prices beyond the point where it becomes cheaper and easier to use sustainable alternatives.
My life is pretty green. Much produce is home grown. If it can't be recycled or composted, don't buy it.
Lifestyle choices. Eat less crap.
Sex is still the best entertainment. It doesn't require any expensive electronic equipment or electrical power. And you don't need to travel anywhere to find it.
Agree - cap & trade or carbon trading - is a distraction. Incidentally created by the same clever rich people who invented the derivatives market - now where did that get us?
Agree - C02 part of natural carbon cycle but the trouble is eco systems can only cope with cycling 10 billion tonnes of it per year & through burning fossil fuels we are releasing 18 billion tonnes per year.
Please educate yourself on the facts and the science. Global warming is a lie to impost a worldwide tax on everything. If you're to blinded by the propaganda I suggest you do less criticizing and video making and more reading and researching. Now i agree people need to live cleaner, healthier, greener lives but do not lie to me about the facts. Do not present false science to promote a government agenda. Educate me on my choices and I will make the decision on how best to live my life.
Did you know that by making small changes - the average person can cut nearly 8 tonnes from their personal carbon footprint. If just 3 million people did the same it would save 16,000,000 tonnes of CO2 every year!
Great video! I drive a fuel efficient vehicle and carpool when I can. I'm also cooking at home more and with mostly organic foods. The easist one is to unplug things that aren't plugged into anything (ie mobile phone charger when no mobile is attached to it)...that uses electricity for NOTHING! One change at a time makes a huge difference and you barely feel the change to your lifestyle.
Great! Walk, walk, walk! Do your heart and the planet a great favour and leave the car at home unless you really have to use it. Corner shop visits - LEGS ONLY!
Stop feeling you need more - last year's clothes are great, fix that broken pair of shoes, and declutter your life. You really don't need it. Visit the museum instead of turning your own home into one. (Walk or take public transport to the museum of course.)
And turn off your computer at night - big savings for you and the planet!
I try to make a difference, one person makes a miniscule difference alone but can change the world with help (just look at stalin and hitler, Romulus and Remus, Hannibul and Alexander the Great) , I write to County Council, our local mp, basically as high up the chain as I can trying to make a difference, sadly most people don't take a 16 year old seriously
It's interesting how much Anerican's are suffering compared to the rest of the world, and they were one of the few to not reduce emmisions
I've given up buying new clothes and other consumer goods - its a great relief in the credit crunch to ease finances and reduce clutter in the house, aside from all the eco benefits. I'm making a lot more home made food, like bread and cakes, which has cut down on packaging. Most of all I'm really enjoying the "frugal" life.
I write to ministers to ensure decent international agreements. I write to members of parliament to request help with national projects and stop the coal and aviation industries. I try to put the pieces in place on a local level, so that we will have food whe the crisis hits and be well positioned. And I try to recycle what I can and eat less meat. Oh, and I stay positive!
Great sentiment; I knew all this in 1974 taking courses in env. studies and have taught this at college. But the video is not persuasive enough. It doesn't lay out why 100 months is a critical timeframe. Explaining graphs from Nobel laureates so that the average non PhD gets it would help. Showing how many (what %) of the world's climate scientists agree would also. I'm here in NYC where I know people who are fed lies by people who are paid to lie. It comes through the church and talk radio.
Your kinda cute. You'd be even better if you didn't talk so much... especially about saving the planet. Hiy Vey what a boring date you must be!

true...especially things like microwaves, VCR/DVD players etc. that you power 24/7 just to keep the little clock lit and going.
