@takauthar Dude, go read Kool Moe Dee's book "A God On The Mic." he explains that a freestyle was originally a written verse that is "free of style" meaning it has no set theme or rhyme structure. "Off the dome" freestyles are verses spit on the spot. A lot of the old school rappers look down on "off the dome" freestyles because it takes way more intelligence and thought to write a conscious verse than just rhyme words together.
