As nice as the original cd version is, I actually prefer this as it's in keeping with what the band is about. Adding a drummer is one thing but to have a singer, even as a guest, makes it sound like they made concessions. If you didn't know them as just cellists, you'd think they were back up for the singer. That idea, unfortunately, happens with a lot of bands.
