  • I've watched Ewing play for years. Of all the questionable moves he made that should've been called for traveling, but wasn't, I'd be very surprised if this made his top 100.

  • 4 steps.... but PE is legend!!!!

  • Not travelling fools, according to the arbitrary rules the refs use in countless situations like this:

The second step is a two foot take-off, meaning the second and third steps combine for the second step. Yea Yea, to do this cleanly, the second and third step must land simultaneoulsy before the take-off (Obviously Ewing's wasn't simultaneous), but the refs almost never call that on anyone, so long as they take off on both feet, and it's too fast for refs to notice anyhow, so they let it go

  • @PaulJuliusSokoloff its traveling douch third step cant not touch the floor .. it would be a jump stop.. and jump stop after 2 step its called travel!..

  • @PaulJuliusSokoloff

    are u Lebron?

  • Real traveling? And no top-rated Lebron comments?

  • 3 steps?

  • Travelinnnggg!!

  • lebron traveled

  • hey..that was lebron's signature move.."The Travel"..:))

  • HAHAHAHA I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING!!! I REMEMBER THIS!!!

  • that was a fucking travel. big man can't dribble

  • Patrick?

    AARRRRGGHHHHHH

    Oops

  • that's a great giddy smile he has on his face at 0:24 ... like, he just got off a carnival ride and is having a blast

  • "i am walking, yes indeed.."- that travelling is a ewing special. he did it a 1000 times, no ref ever called it..

  • You're allowed to bring your travel leg (3rd step) back on the floor to lift off with your jump step (your initial jumping leg on the second step), but the 'travel leg' must hit the floor at the 'same time' as the second step leg followed by an immediate two leg jump.

The rule is bent badly for past 20 years where officials allow players to land the third leg milliseconds 'after' the second step has already landed (like Ewing does in this dunk) then jumping off both feet. All players do it.

  • walk~!!

  • Rodman 5 Patbrick Ewing 0 in the only category that counts.

  • bobby hansen 1 stockman malone 0

    what is your point

  • soooooo not a travel. only 2 steps after picking up the dribble. watch it in slow motion if you have to. please, people. jordan took three steps at will and never got called for it. cut the shit.

  • TRAVEL

  • Ewing had hops for a big guy. I remember this dunk he pretty much took off from the foul line and dunked over someone. This was when he was older too. When he was younger he could jump even better.

  • @Brainsonthewall Yeah he was very athletic in his prime, easily as much so as Olajuwon or any other 7 footer in history. By the year this game took place ('97), it had eroded somewhat. But even I, a die-hard Knick fan and Ewing fan his whole career, was surprised to see him pull this off. It was like one of his 85-92 dunks. Almost Jordanesque speed and explosive elevation.

  • @jaymum23 I would always talk about this dunk and people looked at me like I was crazy. I told them Ewing dunked over Rodman from the foul line. I think this was done at the buzzer before halftime and what was weird, the announcers acted like it was no big deal. This is one of my top 30 in game dunks easily.

  • After Mike put Ewing on a shame :D

  • Travel. So much.

  • TRAVEL!

  • ewing is so gangsta

  • took 3 steps!

  • traveling!

  • TRAVELING TRAVELING TRAVELING!!!! I Dont care what anyone says. He walked and thats it. So he gets no props from me on that dunk.....

  • if thats travel, then dwayne wade shouldnt be playing basketball.

  • @Supermokh lebron ant half the nba neither.

  • if thats called a travel, I dont wanna watch the nba.

shoulda re did the snickers commercial with rodman

    "Patrick?"

    "whats up Dennis? RAGHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

    "oops"

  • Ewing took approximately 2 dribbles his entire career.

  • GORILLAS FLY!!!!!

  • I respect Ewing but he took the "A train" on that travel.

  • Patrick?

  • Whats up Bryan? AHHHHHHHH! OOPS!

  • whats up ryan? ahhhhhh!!!!

  • nice travel.

  • Growing up in chi-town pat was the man in New York. Everybody wanted to be him not jordan.

  • I know PE was a beast, but why would everyone in chi-town want to be like Ewing over MJ? I don't get it.

  • WHAT?! Jordan was the man in Chicago AND New York. He was the man everywhere. People wanted to be like Ewing over JORDAN?? I don't think so, nice try Knicks fan

  • When you first start playing organized ball your coach teaches you basic moves and most of the moves caters to the big man in the middle. So when people show moves from a big man like patrick E. where he would dunk on you and can shoot the soft jumper....as shorties we were amazed that this could happen with a big man. Jordan was list as 6-6 but we saw him around chicago all the time, he's like 6-4 with crazy hops. Nowadays everybody has crazy hops at 6-4. But there's no Patrick E.

  • Everything you wrote is pretty much crazy! First off NO ONE IN CHICAGO WANTED TO BE PATRICK EWING... NO ONE! Second Michael Jordan is NOT 6'4 with crazy hops, he's a legit 6'6 never even heard of anyone questioning his height until I read your crazy post. Just by you saying that tells me you NEVER "saw him around chicago". Can't believe this post just have to shake my head in disgust.

  • no MR. jstar25, jordan WAS 6'4, dont you know that nba heights are slightly exaggerated, kobe is also only 6'4

  • Comment removed

  • This is the silliest debate ever. MJ was 6'6 no doubt about it. And I'm sorry but Kobe is NOT 6'4. You guys are getting crazy in here with the jokes. All NBA players heights are NOT exaggerated.

  • oh my god this is crazy, mj admitted it himself that he's 6'4, so has kobe, wake up dude, all nba players exaggerate their heights at least an inch

  • jordan was 6'6.. the only heights that used to get inflated were for small guards and centers.

    nice travel Ewing!

  • lol, this was awesome. Oh the memories.

  • Travel like LBJ

    he never won a MVP?

    What a Shame

  • everyone take your shots at lebron, i'm sure you'll hurt his self-esteem

  • travellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • lol 4 steps but ewing slammed that shit on him so who cares

  • who gives a shit if he traveled or not!!!!!

he owned rodman on that one!!!!

too bad his son ain't as good as him...

  • Yea he traveled when he planted his last foot forward before he jumped. Not as obvious as taking a whole other stride but a travel non the less.

  • fuckin monster. this guy was one of the best!!!

  • man pat my nigger! he da best big man eva

  • never say nigger if you ain't black motherfucker....

    stinkin asian computer addicted hermopodite

  • fuck you! ill say whatever the fuck i want you piece of shit NIGGER! i aint fuckin asian...im a proud fuckin american so if you black get back to africa!

  • I suppose your native American? Because if your not maybe you should pack your bags and go back to where ever the freak you came from.

By the way Pat Ewing is NOT the best big man ever... perhaps you missed the 1994 NBA finals, because he wasn't even the best in his time let alone "eva".

  • maybe you will sponsor his flight to Africa since you whites bring them to America, how about that huh? Fucking racist.

  • COME DOWN ASIAN

  • fucking retard

  • haha what a blatant travel

  • Get dunked on by Patrick Chewing

    He traveled

  • SKREF

  • definitely a walk. biggups to ewing though. he was like 83 years old when he did that.

  • dayum how many steps did he take??

  • 2 -_-

  • nope..3

  • Like, seven...

  • I remember this dunk! I went CRAZY when, P.E. thrashed D.R. with that! Lol.. ;-)

  • two step jump step. He should have just shot the layup and missed it.

  • he traveled

  • My favorite Knick and NBA player of all time

    Patrick Ewing = Knick Warrior!!

  • @EvilWilderness I wonder how many rings Ewings' Knicks would have won if they never bumped into 23 in red each time in the playoffs

  • @frusionnn imagine the cosby show still being on the air if the simpsons never appeared on the tracy ullman show.

  • @AvEryBadApPLe I see. but what are you trying to say as far as a response to my comment?

  • @frusionnn ifs souldn't matter. even when mj went off to humiliate himself by playing baseball, ewing had a chance at winning a title and blew it.

  • @AvEryBadApPLe ''humiliated himself''? you really think that way huh? that's pretty sad (no offense). and I know if's don't matter, I was just saying it for the heck of it.

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck Rodman!!!!!!

  • Rodman was drying Ewing's balls with his tongue in that game.

  • Yea, but Frederick Weis didn't jump either when Vince Carter dunked over him in the Olympics.

  • @Sturlast NO, HE DUCKED by slightly buckling his legs and hunching a bit to lose inches (almost a foot) and made it easy for VC. Watch the replay closely from OTHER angles to see. MJ or Nique wouldn't be stupid enough to risk a career-threatening injury for a stunt highlight like that (one arm up and the fall could be deadly!). VC needed to take the risk to get the fame - cause he got no other game. Knowing MJ or Nique could do this easily if they wanted to (better verticals) is good enough.

  • rodman didnt jump.ewing was open
