@TheStrokesChick It was $65/night for hotel in SF (where we live, they start at $89 and they're not even nice!) and the gas was only about $2.20/gal and our Toyota would do 600 km/tank. Food was from our cooler for the most part, a couple meals out. I think total was about $500-$600 for 5 days from Canada.
Oh Wow! you were able to get some great deals! I'm planning on going next month, only for a day or two. And man, $500-$600 is "little money" coming from Canada. I think I'll easily spend that much just coming from the LA area, but that includes a car rental =(
