all of you are retarded.. unless you have pounded your zune with a pick axe or hatchet: it has a gorilla screen. and you can scratch it with a razor, and have no results. ive tried it!!

@jaymurphe What about the back? It's metal, but it's definitely not scratch proof. I agree that you don't need to baby the Zune HD like you do an iPod Touch, but a little protection isn't a BAD thing. :-)

I just got it 2 days ago, and while using it in my car, i dropped it on the side of the car seat, and during the process of taking out, this piece of shit car made a HUGE scarcth on the back. You dont know how fucking terrible i am feeling right now D:

I don't know what you guys are talking about but, the Zune HD screen does scratch quite easily I have about half a dozen small scratches around the edge of the screen. Not actually on the viewing area but, still on the glass. This happened the second day I got it. My girlfriend accidently kicked the Zune HD off the bed it hit the floor about a foot below on the screen (Hardwood floor) the floor was very clean and bam scratches all over it. I have invisible shield on it now however...

Look here on YouTube for Zune HD screen test videos - there are people scratching the screen with keys, etc. I'm surprised the screen on yours got scratched up - although dropping it doesn't help matters... :-)

@kyoukan91 I have a touch, it scratches too. I dont think glass makes any much of a difference. This is coming out of a itouch user. the Itouch sucks... Im getting an HD as soon as i get my next paycheck. The touch's simplified UI gets boring after a while, and so does its apps. HD is a fresh refinement of the MP3 player market. I want one =D

Glass screens don't scratch easily. It'll probably only scratch in the real world if you rub it with a diamond ring. What you might care about is the aluminum on the back but screen protectors are pointless for the Zune HD.

the second case better, l ike that fact you can wrap the headphones at the back of the case...i hate wrapping my headphones around my zune 8 and putting it in my pockets, and when i do take it out it get tangles up ugh...

Just so you know, apparently it's bad for the wires of the earphone if you wind it around like that like you did on the 2nd case. I know it was designed to be that way, but someone from an electronics store told me about it, saying that it can increase the tension/stress in the headphone's internal wires.

@tkim2008 You are correct. It bends and frays the internal wiring and even external casing. keep the head phones straight.

@tkim2008 yeah, it is. I've gone through about 5 pairs of headphones where just one will stop working, it's because it weakens the wires.

yeah. the very first zune could do that. it has a little marketplace and you can select categories etc on what you want to buy.

Yes zune is the future of pocket media players. You will see when microsoft release pgr ferrari for the zune hd and the nvidia tegra graphics will look stunning. Ipods are soo generic now.

THE ZUNE HD IS JUST AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! It did take me a while to learn how to use. While listening to a song, i didnt know how to bring up the album list but you just press below where all the other songs show up and it brings that up. The screen is amazingly bright and looks amazing. I needed a screen protector so i ended up getting an invisible shield that was for the palm pre. I did a horrible job installing it but it will protect the screen. I also got the dlo case in jasons review.

Besides, that thing on the back, although kinda lame, its pretty innovative, you have to admit.
