I was just listening through Future Sound Of London's "ISDN" album for the first time ever and when I heard "Dirty Shadows" I thought: "Hmm, so FSOL were inspired by Dan Gardopée from KFMF? Or is it the other way around?"

And now I checked out using Wiki that ISDN was released in 1994, whereas Basehead made this song in 1997. Anyway, both songs rock!

If you like video game music like the one in Unreal, then I highly recommend FSOL's music and non-mainstream electronic music in general. =)

Looks like the first part of this track was heavily "inspired" by FSOL's "Dirty Shadows" from their album ISDN published in 1995, even some samples, like one unintelligible voice sample, are in both tracks.

Totally! The 2 main reasons I miss the 90's so much are video games and music. At least nowadays they still make good music from time to time (I mean the underground non-mainstream artists, like the guys who created Unreal's soundtrack). But when it comes to video games... they just don't make them like that anymore... :( Especially when it comes to FPS games. The 90's are full of great FPSs - Unreal, Half-Life, Quake, and many others...

To me Unreal is the 2nd best game ever (after HL1). =)

I agree. Unreal is in my opinion the best FPS ever made. The music is amazing, and the depth of atmosphere is still unmatched to this very day.

@t0r4g0wn4g3 not only that but you find .. or found.. such variety in maps when you played online. such as giant rooms (Bathrooms ) where a toilet was 100 times your size

you had Sniper dedicated servers

you had the best thing ever (Bunny track) wich required originality

you had Jailbreak with instagib weapons

but only when i was writign the last paragraph i noticed that you where talking about UNreal... and not Unreal Tournament. i still think that Unreal Tournament is the best FPS ever made (:

this game is by far better than DOOM if you ask me, its music is just amazing, the graphics still looks amazing, and the game play is just AWESOME! unfournatley, epic seems to have changed......gears of war has nothing on this master peice, nothing at all. if i could give this a score ide give it a 10!

BTW if anybody is looking for this and really wants to play it, go download steam, they ave unreal for about 5 bucks on there!
