how much did this engine cost, well i should say the whole setup to it? i Would like to do something along the line of this to my 99 dodge durango, i mean its got a nice 360 magnum in it but i just want that extra horsepower, love love love hp. :) makes you smile big when you got that much power especially when you can feel it.

Im not hating on your dakota at all just a general question. Why doesnt anyone bore it out with the stroke? I think it turns it into a 426 or something like that

It is bored out .030". That along with the 4" stroker crank makes the 408ci. I believe the 426s take advantage of an even larger stroke- something like 4.180" I think.

The engine is a 360 block, bored .030" over w/ a 4" stroker crank. So the current size is 408ci.

its a 360 Mopar stroked out to a 408 basically they bore it over 30 and stroke it out to 4 inch crank and you have a 408 stroker

Good question. I had O/D off at first, and the truck shifted through 4th, but then I turned O/D on... and go figure the typical dodge tranny has to shift OUT of 4th to put O/D back on.

ive seen alot of 408 dakota rt's but yours is what i would expect from a 408. what are the specs on your engine if you dont mind me asking? i visit krc performance often but never really know what makes a good combination, that and ive seen 408's that looked way under powered and i would be embarassed to tell people that it was a 408. excellent example of what an rt should be

I cannot take the time now to post everything, so shoot me a message on which specs you want to know- but it's basically all forged internals- eagle pistons, scat connecting rods, scat billet crank, custom grind cam from John Mercedes, Tom Fox re-flashed pcm, edelbrock aluminum heads, crane race rockers, and so on... again just message me if you need in depth info.
