This song is funny. But, I understand that most people were not really into the Korean and Vietnam war. Forgot which, but yeah. I i'd rather be a draft dodger.
I live in LA, where there's a large amount of Iranians who came here 30 years ago after their revolution. They mostly live in West LA and other rich people places like Woodland Hills in the Valley. All of them want the USA or Israel to strike Iran and remove the regime, yet none of them say they want to enlist in the military and actually fight for what they believe in. This song could be the UCLA Hillel's theme too.
Great cover! I encourage you to cover other songs from Phil. You might want to play Outside of a Small Circle of Friends, Links on the Chain, Medgar Evars, and State of Mississippi.
Thanks for posting this, I can tell you really respect the song...they've almost silenced Phil by now, but so long as people continue to sing his songs, he'll live forever. Well played.
I didn't mean to be rude, just wishing it was Phil. YOur voice is fine. I am sorry, I seen Phil perform over a dozen times and he always was a favorite of mine.
Nice job on a great song.

Thanks for the Strong-Endorsement.
I've been singing this song since a music appreciation teacher turned me onto Phils
incredibly smart music.

This is the Official 2008 Theme Song of the College Republicans: chickenhawks who "support the war", so long as it's someone else getting shot at.

I just appreciate that you know who the hell Phil Ochs is.
Too many people don't know.

Phil Ochs did a song called "the Hills Of West Virginia". Do you have it?

wish a copy of Phil singing was here.

I'm not sorry for my "Rendition."
It Should be about the message of the song, right?
That is the reason. It's not about my voice but the
common voice.

Thankyou for taking the time to comment.
I learned about Phil Ochs in a community college music class I took in 1994. I didn't realize it then, but my instructor
who turned me onto Phil Ochs and The MC5 was very hip!
He definitely wasn't afraid of exposing kids to "Commercially-Obscure-Figures."
I'm really dissapointed that more people aren't
aware of Phil Ochs. For our safety, people must become
aware in mass.
