Very good song though a rather poor performance, but she deserved a better placing ! Anyway, you have too listen the excellent lyrics by Boris Bergman, one of the most brilliant lyricist in France ever who wrote many songs for "intellectual singers" in France. It's quite unusual to find him in Eurovision, but it's fine !
This song should have definitely won first place, even though it was sang back in the sixties it's still brings me so much joy, happiness, pleasure, a feeling of euphoria and contentment every time I listen to it and I never get bored listening to it.
Une chanson c'est une lettre Monaco 1975, is one of my favorite Eurovision songs, very memorable with such a beautiful melody that stays in my mind for days
excuse me, but you simply have GOT to be kidding????? You call her an "excellent singer"???? I wouldn't trust her to sing a lullaby for my neighbours kittens!
That Sophie performing for Monaco is called Sophie Hecquet. She started as a teenager a singing career in France in the sixties. She worked as an anouncer in Télé Monte-Carlo.
The Sophie singing in 1968 with Chris Baldo is another one. She is called Sophie Garel. She never was a profesional singer. Then she was working as a speaker for RTL(French channel)radio and the RTL management decided to convince Sophie to join the "shy" Chris Baldo to help him performing during the show.

It's unforgettable. I' ve remembered it throughout the years. Many of the Monaco contributions were quite catchy indeed.
